As always thank you for reading. I hope that you will like the new chapter. I really didn't know how to write this part so I hope it turns out ok.

HoneyC. I am nervous too. I have no idea how best to write it. Thank you very much, it is always nice to hear from you.

Ayimsilentbunny. Thank you so much. That is such a lovey thing to say. I am looking forward to writing the last two chapter of this part, then the finally part. I am a little sad too, that it is almost over. Thank you again.

It was not yet long after midday and yet a cool breeze blew through the market. A clear sign that summer was coming to an end, only that last warm rays of sun remaining. Autumn was clearly on its way. There was not a cloud in the sky, adding to the cool air. Once the food supplies had been bought the avatar found his feet caring him towards a stall that he had caught sight off out of the corner of his eye. The stall was a little smaller than the others that stood on either side of it. It could afford to be smaller, as its stock was rather on the small side. Small wooden toys for children.

The smooth wood shone as the bright sun hit it, a different toy catching his eye as he walked towards it. The majority of the toys were carved animals. Many of them he could fondly remember having seen in the flesh. There were a few that his gaze feel on for a little longer than the others. When his eyes feel on one in particular the faint smile that had been tugging at the side of his mouth turned into a full grin.

He carefully reached out and picked up the figure. Turning it over in his fingers. The Badgermole had an odd look on their face. The corners of its mouth seemed like they were turning upwards, in a kind of smirk. Looking at the small representative of the originator of earthbending, he wondered if maybe his wife's smirk came from her earthbending training. Not taking his eyes of the figure, he pulled some money from his pocket and handed it to the stall owner.

"Great minds."

The very familiar voice to his right caused a full smile to break out on his face, as he turned to face them. Zuko smiled back, though not as much. He slowly lifted his right hand to reveal a carved wooden figure. The Flying Boer had more detail to it than the Badgermole, though its expression was blank. He didn't let himself think too much into that and the family that the animal had come to represent.

"Don't you have a nation to run." Aang teased.

"Not know I have a son."

"He's only two."

"And a half."

Aang let out a faint laugh. "Oh well then."

The two men finally closed the distance between them and hugged each other for a brief minute.

"You miss her already."

Zuko didn't have to answer. He didn't have to. So he instead asked how Toph was. It was clear to the fire lord from his response that the avatar was worried for his wife. He was still excited, but there was the unmistakable tinge of fear. He knew that feeling well. Though it was probably not quit the same. Not after what had happened to them before. Words of comfort and reassurance came close to leaving his lips, but they never did. He knew that nothing he said would make any real difference till he held his child in his arms for the first time. There was no feeling like it in the world. You felt more powerful, important than you had ever felt before. You had brought life into the world. You created life. You also felt so powerless, insignificant. All you wanted to do was protect this little thing in your arms, but he knew that that was not always going to be possible. Their life was, hopefully if all went was going to go on longer than your own. A part of you out lasting your own life, the only legacy that mattered. Made your own life seem so insignificant.

A scream echoed throughout the halls of the southern air temple. Though she tried to bite her lip to stop the scream from leaving her lips, Toph couldn't help it. The pain was so sharp it felt like she was being ripped in two by a very hot and sharp sword. Katara was holding her hand and repeating the same thing over and over again. The more she did this more frustrated Toph was getting. Of course she was breathing, why would she not be breathing if she was not breathing than she would be dead. Judging by the pain that was radiating throughout her whole body she was very sure that she was not dead. At least not yet.

"There, another one over." Katara tried to weakly smile.

If she could muster the energy to make sure she was making eye contact with the suddenly very annoying waterbending holding her hand and send her the best death glare she could then she would be doing so right now. Instead she took in a very deep breath and let herself sink back into the pile of pillows that had been stacked up behind her. Her whole body felt so heavy, it was getting hard to even lift her eyelids open. Katara still kept a hold of her hand, her thump running along the knuckles of her friend's clenched hand.

After a few minutes of rest bite, Toph gritted her teeth and moved to site up again. She was able to bite back the scream a little this time. To help her do this she had gripped onto Katara's hand tighter than before. She did this with such strength that it took some effort for Katara not to let out a scream of her own. Once the contraction had passed as carefully as she could she let go of Toph's hand.

Toph let out the faintest laugh as she felt Katara stretching out her finger. Most likely checking for any damage. "Tell you what. Get me through this and I'll heal any damage."

"Deal." Katara smiled as she took Toph's hand in hers again.

From the time between the contractions it was clear that the baby was coming very soon. She was starting to panic. She didn't think that she could do it all on her own. The desire to curse Aang's name under her breath was getting very hard to keep back. What was taking him so long. It should not be taking this long to get to the village and buy some food. He had most likely got distracted by something or someone wanting to talk to him.

Toph could feel Katara's racing heartbeat through their joined hands. She was trying her best to not panic either, but it was getting harder. This was not meant to be happening now. There was still weeks before she was due to have the baby. Katara had told her this was normal, it happened sometimes. Nothing to be very concerned about. Thinking too much brought on a headache. Her head being the only part of her body that didn't hurt, she tried not to think. That was clearly easier said than done for both of them. All thoughts of worry seemed to temporary disappear as another wave of pain came over Toph and that was all that either thought of till it passed.

The sound of his wife screaming in pain was the very upsetting and terrifying sound that greeted Aang as he entre the air temple. Dropping the food and newly bought wooden toy onto the ground he took off in a run towards the bedroom. Zuko followed at a slightly slower pace. Once they reached the bedroom, he stayed back at the door as Aang ran towards Toph. Taking Katara's place at her side. Her hand held in his.

Now free to take more control of the proceedings Katara started to move around the room. Giving Zuko a list of things she needed. The whole time Aang and Toph paid no attention to any of this movement going on around them. In fact Toph didn't seem to be paying any attention to anything that was going on at all. This was a little worrying for Katara but she knew that once this was over, which looked like it was going to be very soon, then she should start to improve.

The pain seemed to lessen a little as she focused on Aang's voice. It was hard to make out some of what he was saying, but his voice had a calming influence. Though she was starting if this was more to do with a lightheaded feeling. She hated that feeling. Feeling out of control. Now however she didn't mind. She kind of liked it. It made the pain feel slightly far away. It was still there, but not as intense as before. In a small part of her mind she knew that was maybe not right. That she should say something. She didn't though the only thing that left her mouth was a scream as the pain washed over her again.

Everything around her was foggy. She couldn't keep track of all the movement around her, who was in the room and where they were standing or moving to. The first thing that cut through was the fog was Katara's voice. "Ok, Toph this is it."

The majority of the pain slipped away from her, as she let out a deep breath. One that she felt like she had been holding for so long that she had forgotten when she took in the breath. In the distance, through that fog that had descended again, she could hear a crying sound and the muttering of voices.

"We have a daughter."

The tiny bundle in his arms stopped fusing when she heard her father's voice. She was so tiny. His hand was just smaller than her whole size. Her eyes though, they were huge and bright. When they opened for the first time and they looked into his, he felt his breath catch in his throat. He had never had that feeling before, well maybe once. When he say Toph walking towards him on the day of their second wedding.

"What does she look like."

It took a lot of effort for her to get out those few words. There were so many things that he could say to answer that. Her skin was as flawless and smooth and china. She had a mop of jet black on the top of her head. It was so soft, he worried that if he touched it to much it would fall out. Her eyes, her eyes were a mix of his dull grey eyes and Toph's old sift green ones. He had never seen eyes that colour. They stood out so much on her tiny face, above her tiny nose. In the end there was only one word that he could say. One world that slipped from his mouth, as his eyes looked down at her.

"Prefect."

Taking a step towards the head of the bed, he carefully reached out a hand to take hold of Toph's. When his hand found hers it was limp. Tearing his eyes from his baby he finally looked at Toph. Her eyes where shut. She looked so pale and clammy. That was understandable, but her breathing seemed to faint.

"Toph." he shock her lightly, but she didn't respond.

He called her name again, a little louder this time. The worry, and pain in his voice was so clear that Katara and Zuko who had been standing by the door talking heard and came over. He said her name a third time as Katara moved him out of the way to look her over.

I hope that you liked it and will keep reading. I really don't know anything about the content of this chapter. So I hope that it came out ok, that I didn't get it to wrong. I tried to be as vague as I could be. Any comments are very welcome, thank you.
