You are John Egbert and you are looking for your best friend. You may or may not have made a huge mistake, and your whole friendship (or whatever awkward mess it is now) is in shambles. As soon as the last bell rang, you sprung from your seat and ran to Dave's locker. And you waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Dammit, Dave! Hurry up! You seriously need to talk to him! That kiss is what you wanted and you messed it up, and, oh crap, he was probably avoiding you. That makes everything easy. Not.
You think you need ice cream an Karkat's shitty romcoms.
No, John, you tell yourself, you will not sink down to that level of cinema. Also, you are not a hormonal teenage girl.
During this little rant inside your head, you catch a glimpse of platinum blonde hair above the heads of the crowd. You may not be the tallest, but you go up on your tiptoes to see that it is definitely Dave walking towards you.
"Dave!" you call. He doesn't really acknowledge you, even though he's only about ten feet away. "Dave?" He walks right by you to his locker. He ignores you.
"Oh, come on, Dave! I didn't mean it when-"
"When you what?" he asks, cutting you off. "When you kissed me back?"
"No! I wanted to do that, but-"
"But you're straight and you can't kiss a guy you've known for your whole life without making sure the guy doesn't mean it too?"
"What? That didn't make sense! But I wanted to kiss you, I just didn't mean-"
"What didn't you mean, Egbert?" he says. Dave's trying to keep a cool face, but you can tell he's getting a bit angry.
You're angry.
"If you'd just let me finish, maybe you'd find out!" you snap.
"Fine." He turns towards you, abandoning his books and his locker.
"I didn't mean to say what I did after that because I actually wanted to do that thing for awhile, but then I got all nervous and it was you and me and then I blurted it out and I felt terrible and now I want to give you a tender bro embrace."
Dave laughs a little. You can't hear it, but you see his shoulders moving just a bit. He turns away and puts his weight on the lockers.
"There's no need to make me feel better, Egbert. I know-" he starts.
But you cut him off.
By doing the thing. With your lips. On his. In a practically deserted hallway because everyone left during your argument.
And it doesn't feel half bad.
Dave pulls away first. "Glad to know you feel the same way."
You smile and bring his face closer to yours. Then someone coughs, and you see that person is Terezi.
Shit just got real.
I can't help feeling they're a bit OOC this chapter, but whatever. I updated! Aren't you guys proud of me? I'll update when I can (which isn't often), so I have no idea when the next chapter will be up.
Until Next Time,
Gravity
