DON'T KILL ME PLEASE! You probably all hate me now, and I don't blame you. I'm not very happy with myself either frankly. Because of how long I've taken to update.

I am so so sorry, but if you want to blame anything blame school, for drowning me in work and exams and stress yada yada yada.

So I hope you enjoy this, and please review.

Fang's POV.

I woke up suddenly, my head throbbing along with my shoulder where I had knocked Jeb's door down.

I prayed that Iggy hadn't intervened, that he had let Jeb take me.

I opened my eyes, and all I could see was white.

Where am I? I thought, panicking slightly.

I could feel that my hands and ankles were tied down, and I was lying on my back, which was aching.

I tried to yank my hands out of the rope or whatever it was, still staring at the ceiling. I desperately thrashed, but to no avail.

I gave up, defeated, and realised that I was probably at the labs where Jeb worked.

I twisted my head to the side to look around and my breath caught in my throat.

Max was lying on a metal table to my right.

She looked to be asleep, but was extremely pale under her all year around tan, and her hair was matted and limp.

She looked much thinner than normal, she probably hadn't eaten since I made her.

I felt a pain in my chest as I took in her ragged appearance.

"Hello?" I heard a soft voice ask, and I lifted my head to see a girl on a metal table opposite me.

She had mocha coloured skin and dark curly hair, appearing to be around 11.

"Hey." I said. "Where are we?" I asked, keeping my voice calm.

"I don't really know. We were all kidnapped and taken here."

I looked around and saw that on two tables on Max's right, there were a boy and a girl, both asleep with blond hair, the girl looking around 6, the boy about 8. I guessed that they were brother and sister, you could see the resemblance.

"I'm Nudge." The girl said. "Well, my real name is Monique, but everyone calls me Nudge. The little girl on the end there is Angel, next to her is her brother Gazzy, or the Gasman. Don't ask. The girl next to you is-"

"Max, I know." I cut in, turning my head to look at Max again.

"You know Max?" She asked, surprise evident in her voice.

I nodded. "Yeah. I'm Fang."

She nodded. "Oh of course." She said, sounding like everything made sense now.

I looked at her, startled. "What?"

"Well, Max started talking in her sleep. I think she had lots of nightmares. I've tried to wake her up, but it didn't work. I've heard her calling, calling for you to help her."

My heart constricted. "She called for me?" I asked, trying to keep my voice flat but failing.

She nodded. "After…. After they took her, she's been….. sick. The other night, she had a seriously bad nightmare or something. She was crying and screaming and shouting your name and everything. I called to her, but she didn't hear me. She was calling for someone else also, and when she woke up she was in floods of tears and she was shaking. I…. I didn't know what to do, but I thought that once she woke up she would want to be alone, so I stayed quiet. I used to be on the table that you're on now, but they moved me when you arrived."

My fists clenched and my stomach tightened. Whoever the hell hurt Max was going to die. She was calling for me…. I should have got here sooner.

I felt insane anger and guilt, along with a weird feeling in my chest which I couldn't identify.

"Do you know what they did to her?" I asked.

She hesitated.

"Do you know?" I demanded.

"Well…." She began, but was interrupted by a weak voice beside me.

"Fang?" Max asked.

I snapped my head to her. She was awake, and I could see fear resting deep in her eyes.

"I'm here, Max." I said, trying to put on a soothing voice.

"Fang…. Why are you here?" She said, sounding broken.

"Iggy and I are gonna break you out." I said, my voice firm.

She shook her head. "I….. I thought- I had a dream…" She said, and her voice cracked.

"It's okay Max. I'm here, I'll protect you." I said, and she closed her eyes, looking up at the ceiling. A single tear ran down her cheek.

The door opened. A big beefy guy came in, pushing a trolley with a cage on it.

He grinned and Max opened her eyes, turning to look at him.

"So how'd it go, Max?" He said, folding his arms against his chest.

"Have fun? Or are you feeling the pain?" He said, a disgusting smile on his face.

She snarled at him weakly.

He looked over at me. "Oh look, a new arrival."

He stalked over to me, and Max turned to look at me, but stayed quiet. I could see in her eyes that she was asking me to stay quiet, not to provoke him as he reached me.

"So, I hear you came for Max."

By now the two kids, Gazzy and Angel, were awake, and looking at me also.

I stayed silent.

"Got a little crush? Well, you'll just love hearing what sick stuff they did to her." He said, enjoyment dancing in his eyes.

I lifted my head and spat, right into his face.

He wiped his face with his arm and growled.

"How dare you! You little-" He lashed out and blindly punched my chest, hard.

I bit my lip and stayed silent, breathing fast through my nose, trying not to make a noise.

"Fang!" Max cried out weakly.

The guy turned around slowly to her. "You're coming with me." He said, his voice hard.

"They need to do some tests, see how effective their little…..experiment the other day was."

She stayed quiet, and just looked at me, pleading with her eyes for me to actually not do anything this time.

"Don't worry. It's not anything major, just to see how you've… progressed." He said, amusement lacing his voice.

I clenched my jaw, hard.

He walked over to her and started undoing some of the straps holding her down.

"Aren't you gonna tell me not to run." She snarled.

"Oh, no. I know you're far too weak after what they did to you for that."

Her eyes hardened. "What makes you think that?"

"I listened in on some of the scientists talking. It was a bunch of crap about how your body would react to what they've done, with a fever, confusion, weakness, just general illness, and a bunch of other stuff I'm sure you already know all about."

He grinned. "Not to mention two spots on your back which may react with extreme pain, and a burning sensation." He said, quoting something.

Max tensed, and my fists clenched. How dare they do this to her? What the hell gives them the right? The second that I was out of here, I would freaking kill them!

She stayed quiet.

He undid the rest of the straps, and she tried to stand, only crumpling back down onto the table.

"See? You can't even stand. Pathetic."

She lifted her arm and punched him in the face, putting as much force behind the punch that she could in her extremely weakened state.

He stepped back, putting a hand over his nose, and lurched forwards, raking Max across the face with… claws.

His normal hand had changed to form claws.

I watched as they receded into his fingers, and he was normal again.

Max had three deep claw marks running parallel next to each other from next to her ear, down her cheek, and stopped right under her mouth at her chin.

Blood was already dripping down her face, and she clenched her jaw to stop herself from crying out.

The little girl…. Angel, gasped when she saw the deep ragged lines snaking their way down Max's face, and shut her eyes.

The gasman gasped also, but he didn't look away.

Nudge stayed quiet, like me.

The guy grabbed Max's arm, yanking her up savagely, holding her up so that he feet dangled above the floor, still wearing a battered pair of black converse.

He dragged her to the cage, throwing her in so that her foot, the one which was broken, whacked against the floor.

She gasped, and quickly pulled her leg into the cage, hands clutching her foot in pain.

My throat tightened again, my chest still throbbing from the vicious punch.

The guy closed the door of the cage, locking it, beginning to wheel Max out of the door.

She turned he head to look at me as she left, and I saw fear lying deep in her eyes resurfacing. She was seriously panicked.

I sent her a look which said: "Don't worry, you'll be fine."

She nodded, looking away as she left the room, the guy turning to me before he was out of the door.

"Don't do anything like that again. If you spit on me again, or so much as touch me, I'll make sure that she becomes the guinea pig tester for you all."

He grinned. "You don't even want to know some of the things that they would do to her."

Then he was gone, and I had never been so enraged in my whole entire life.

Iggy's POV. Ooh, I don't think I've written from his point of view yet.

Fang backed away from Jeb, his back bumping against the door, which was opposite the cupboard which I was hidden in.

Jeb lifted the lamp, and I couldn't take it anymore my anger at Jeb had been building up and it was too much to take.

I wouldn't let him do it. I wouldn't let Fang do this, put himself up for that kind of torture at the….. the school.

I partially slipped out of the cupboard, looking around for anything to hit Jeb with, rage boiling in my stomach.

Fang's eyes flickered over to me, and he glared at me to stay back.

I couldn't see anything that I could hit Jeb with that would knock him out.

Maybe if I hit him on the head hard enough….

Fang's eyes bored into mine, and I could see that he was telling me not to intervene, to just leave it.

"Don't you dare!" Fang mouthed.

I hesitated. I kind of felt that it was my responsibility to keep Fang safe, to keep him out of danger, like it was with Max.

Oh god, I'm such an idiot! How could I let Fang talk me into this, he was putting himself at too much risk, I couldn't let him expose himself to the tortures at the school.

Fang's hand dangled at his side, but he closed his fist apart from two fingers.

Two days.

My own fists clenched. My jaw tightened, and I hesitated again.

Fang glared at me, sending a look which basically said: "Don't you freaking dare ruin this."

I hesitated again.

"Goodnight." Jeb said.

He brought the lamp crashing over Fang's head, and he crumpled to the floor, staring at me before he closed his eyes.

A small noise escaped my throat.

Jeb froze.

I quickly slipped back into the cupboard, pulling the door shut silently as he turned around.

My hand slapped over my mouth.

I was so stupid! If Jeb saw me this whole thing would be for nothing, and there would be no hope for Fang, Max and I.

I peered through the crack between the doors.

Jeb turned a 360, looking around, and stopped when he was facing the cupboard.

My heartbeat sped up drastically as he took a step towards it, hands still clutching the lamp, which was dripping with Fang's blood.

He stared at me, right at the cupboard.

I squeezed my eyes tight shut, trying to calm my racing heart, which was pounding so loud that I was sure Jeb could hear it.

He shrugged to himself before turning around so that his back was to me again.

I released a shaky breath.

He chucked the lamp roughly aside, making it clatter down on the other side of the room, and I'm pretty sure that I heard something smash.

Jeb dragged the desk which he had pushed up against the door to prevent Fang's escape away, opening the door, and roughly picking Fang up, with trouble, dragging him out of the door.

I stayed still for two minutes until I heard a car door slam, and then I burst out of the cupboard, running out of Max's old bedroom and into to the hall, down to Jeb's bedroom.

I dropped to my stomach and reached under the bed, pulling out the files that Fang and I had been reading before Jeb had come in, and I had thoughtlessly kicked them under here when I heard the door open.

I scan-read them all, until I found a location, coordinates.

I rose, descending the stairs two at a time. My heart was pounding, not only from Jeb taking Fang, but also the memories that this house brought back.

I shuddered as I recalled one horrible day, years ago.

Flashback:

I came into the house after being out with my friends. I had left early with a bad feeling in my chest.

I had walked home as fast as I could, the bad feeling growing with every step.

I knew something was wrong as I approached the house, entering almost silently.

I could sense that something had happened, so I silently walked into the living room, to see Jeb passed out on the couch, a bottle of beer in his hand.

I crinkled my nose. The room reeked with the stagnant odour of alcohol, and I put a hand over my nose as I walked through into the kitchen, looking for Max.

There was glass on the floor, and some red liquid… was that blood? No, it couldn't be.

Panic bubbled up in my chest as I left the room, going back through the living room and hesitating at the bottom of the stairs, wondering where Max would be.

After a few seconds of hesitation I walked up the stairs as quietly as I could.

I opened the door to Max's room quietly, poking my head around.

My breath caught in my throat as I spotted Max sitting in the corner, her arms around her knees, which were drawn up to her chin, hugging herself. I gasped.

She didn't look up at I silently shut the door behind me as I came in, walking up to her and crouching right in front of her.

She continued to stare into nowhere, her eyes unfocused, until I spoke.

"What did he do Max? What did he do?"

Her eyes focused. Her gaze flickered to mine, and she looked right into my eyes.

She stayed silent, and her eyes were blank.

"Max? What did he do?" I asked again, worry building up in my chest along with anger. I swear that if Jeb had touched her I would kill him.

She just shook her head, looking away from me.

Suddenly, my eyes were drawn to her sleeve.

She was wearing a white zip up hoodie, and one of the sleeves was red, and completely drenched.

I gently pulled her arm so that it wasn't around her knees anymore, and discovered that her sleeve was entirely soaked through with blood all the way up to the elbow.

I gently rolled it up, trying my best not to hurt her, but I felt her tense under my light grip.

Her arm was completely covered in cuts, with glass stuck in her skin in some parts, long jagged, deep, cuts all around her arm.

I hissed in a tight breath through my teeth. With every breath I took I became more and more angry, and my rage towards Jeb built up.

"Oh my god." I muttered. Pure anger bubbled up inside me until it was too much to bear.

"I'm gonna kill him!" I said, and my voice rose to a shout. "I'M GONNA KILL HIM!"

End of flashback.

My fists clenched at the memory. I went into the living room, swooping down and grabbed my rucksack, shoving the files in.

I looked at Max's knapsack, still where Fang had left it on the floor next to mine. I didn't want to leave it here. I felt like it was a piece of Max, keeping me company.

And anyway, she would kill me if I left this knapsack here. She loved it.

I quickly put everything from my rucksack into Max's, and slung it over my shoulder, twice as heavy as it was before.

I walked to the hallway, but before walking out through the empty doorway, the door still shattered on the floor, I stopped, looking back.

This place held so many memories for me. Happy memories, which quickly turned to sour ones.

My jaw tightened as I took in the place which I had once called home, and then turned away, ducking through the doorway into the sunlight.

I was going to fix this. I was going to get Max and Fang, and then we would go somewhere else. Somewhere far, far away, where there would be no trace of our former life to haunt us.

But I had to get them out first.

*whispers* I lost the game.

Anyway, I'm really sorry that I took so long to update, but I didn't get than many reviews for the last chapter, and I literally had no inspiration to write at all because of that.

I really need your reviews because they are what motivate me, so if you want fast and good updates then that's what you gotta do.

Do any of you guys watch supernatural? I've started watching it recently (last Friday) and have got to season 3.

Fly on.
