17. Epilogue

As the Chaotix celebrated a successful founding mission, strange occurrences arose in Metropolis once again; the many giant screens that were spread across the city showed heavy static and creating a high pitched bleeping noise. The largest screen at the center of the city showed a count-down.

0:00:13, 0:00:12, 0:00:11, 0:00:10...

A crowd had gathered into the city square to watch what was going on. The count-down had been there for over ten hours now.

All of a sudden, every single screen showed the image of a man. A middle-aged man who had a bald head, covered by a set of high-tech goggles. He wore a pair of dark blue sunglasses and sported a very large, brown mustache.

"Greetings Metropolis." He said. "As you may well be aware, I have been absent for quite some time, from my company projects. There have been rumors that I had laid-off all of my staff and that I was going inactive for private work on a, new, project. Well this broadcast, that I thought I would share with my favorite city first, is addressing these rumors..." He sat silently on screen for a moment. Everyone began muttering to one another in confusion. "Dr Ivo Kintobor, is no more. I am now, ROBOTNIK – Dr Ivo Robotnik. I represent the perfection that this entire society is in need of. Look at this world – there are wars, crimes, and sickness that plague us all. Why is that? Because we did not have the leader that could lead you into the perfect society. One Society. Who's society you may ask? Well, as my good friends of metropolis will realize right now..."

The civilians looked up to see a great fleet of large air-craft carriers floating above the city. Traffic all around stopped, as people got out of their cars and looked at them. "I have made the life-changing upgrades to Metropolis, therefore it is mine to take hold of; my Grand Metropolis, will be the first place that will experience life under my leadership – the leadership that will save us all. Now, I know that the governments in this world will not see it as it truly is. They will not give these cities to me, therefore...I'm going to take them."

All of a sudden a fleet of robotic droids dropped from the fleets and into the city. "SURRENDER TO THE EMPIRE OF DR ROBOTNIK!" They said as they swarmed the city.

Civilians ran in panic as the droids over-ran the city.

"Those who resist, will face death. And to those of you that survive...WELCOME TO ROBOTROPOLIS. HEHEHEHEHEHEH!"
