Sparky: Welcome to the family!
Ven's P.O.V
I laughed at Rose's reaction, and looked toward Scarlet, who was looking through a book, turn the pages with her tail.
"Um, what are you reading?" I ask bounding over to her.
"Hm? Oh! Sorry. It's a book I found in the library, but I just can't understand what it says... I know several languages, and I just cant figure out what this is." She said.
"Can I see it?" I asked.
"Sure, don't bother looking at the pages though. They're all blank." Scarlet said slithering to her bed.
I noticed that everyone was getting settled and I looked around.
"Are you guys going to sleep already?" I asked looking at everyone.
"Well me and Rose had a long mission so, were going to sleep."
"Oh... well I'm gonna go for a walk." I said grabbing my team bag, map, and badge. I also grabbed Scarlet's book and shoved it into the bag.
"Don't go for too long, curfew is when the moon is at it's highest. After that the guards lock up and sleep." Rose said yawning.
"Sparky, go with...him...make *yawn* sure he doesn't get lost..."Scarlet said before coiling up and sleeping.
"Oh, alright...wasn't planning on sleeping anyway." He said trotting up to Ven.
We walked through town until we reached the field Sparky was talking about.
"Why'd you come here?" Sparky asked.
"I dunno... I wasn't ready to sleep."
"Ooo, I know let's play a game.!"
"Sure, what's it called?"
" I call it treasure hunting, we just run around for a bit and whatever you find you bring back."
"Wait"
"What?"
"I gotta tell you something, but you cant tell anyone."
"Geez man I'm not a snitch." Sparky said.
"I'm not from here." I said.
Sparky stared at me with absolutely no expression on his face before busting out laughing.
"Well shoot, that's obvious, you don't know your way around here, you walk a little funny, and you don't' know how to groom your fur."
"No- I mean-"
"I understand, you don't need to explain." Sparky said walking off.
"Understand what?" I groaned walking after him.
"You come from a clan and you don't understand how to... act! My friend Snow was like that, but Ruby showed her how to act and stuff! She's an Eevee like you... she ran away awhile ago she was one of my bestest friends!
(THAT'S NOT AT ALL WHAT I WAS GOING TO SAY!) I thought angrily.
"Wait, I just realized something...How do I walk funny?" I said glaring at Sparky.
"Well you waddle a little bit... Here, I'll show you the ups and downs of being a Pokemon." Sparky said running off.
"Oh Arceus...what does that mean?"
Elsewhere...
A trio of Pokemon walked through Floral Forest on their way to the town of Kubi to stop and rest for a while. The leader a Snivy, following close behind was a Tropius, and last was a Turtwig.
"Do we have to go through town? I mean we could always go through Creaky Cove..." Leaf said as Vine walked closer to Kubi."
"No. This shyness of yours is getting a little preposterous, there's no reason for it. Kubi, is the last town we have to go through before we reach Alakazam's Guild, which resides In Amber Town." Vine groaned as his tail twitched.
"But all the Pokemon... Its the trade center of the WHOLE REGION... I-"
"Leaf calm down it'll be fun, if you get to scared, you can ride on my back." Tropic said smiling down at the little Turtwig.
"Really?" Leaf beamed as her face turned red.
"Leaf did you eat a Cherie Berry? You face is red." Tropic said looking at her.
"Huh? No!" Leaf said blushing harder.
"Whatever you say..." Tropic said turning around once again.
"Now why exactly do we have to go to this guild Vine?" Tropic asked.
"I told you both already, Wigglytuff wanted us to bring over these scrolls from Elder Xatu. He says that these documents must be delivered safely, because the information inside is confidential. He would go himself, but he has to stay and watch over the guild." Vine asked.
"How OLD is Wigglytuff?" Leaf asked.
"I don't know, but I think the bracelet he wears has to do something with it. I've read all the records and he's the oldest Guild-master/Explorer to date. He's said to have started the very first guild." Vine said.
"Sounds funny to me." Tropic said.
The trio walked on through the forest when suddenly a rustling was heard behind them. They froze and looked around.
"Strange... Floral Forest isn't a registered Dungeon. It should be vacant, besides the average Pokemon passong through." Vine said.
"Hello, is anyone there?" Tropic yelled.
A low hiss cam from the bush and the trio flinched.
"Sounds like a feral..." Leaf said.
Just as expected, a Sycther emerged from the bushes it's blade's aimed for Leaf's head. Jumping back the Syther's blade missed and wen't clean through a log next to her. Tropic glared at the Sycther as it's blank eyes leered at him, as its scythes took on a white glow. It lunged for Tropic who quickly sent a gust of wind at the bug and it was sent flying into a tree. It got up and looked around quickly before seeing Tropic's treasure bag, and before Tropic could react it lunged for the bag. Suddenly a green blur slammed down on the back of the Sycther's neck and it slumped down limply.
"Tropic, can you fly?" Vine said looking at Tropic. Tropic, who's eyes were fixated on a cave a couple of feet away narrowed. He looked back at Leaf and nodded.
"Fly us into town... I don't think this forest is... safe."
"C'mon Vine, we could fight 'em!" Leaf said smiling.
"I know that. The documents could get damaged. That is a bet we can't place."
Tropic looked toward the two an said. "We need to go...Now." He extended some vines that wrapped the two together and took off quickly. As the trio flew off a small shadowy figure watched them fly off. Smiling it retreated back into the cave a loud shrill laughter could be heard soon after.
The trio flew in silence for a while until Tropic spoke up.
"Why-Why were we just attacked? Floral Forest isn't a dungeon..." Tropic asked.
"I'm not sure Tropic. All I know is we need to get the documents to Alakazam." Vine said.
"Vine... what do those documents say." Tropic asked.
"I cant read it. Wigglytuff said this was to be given to Alakazam and that was it I gave him my word that I would'nt open them. We cant just read it." Vine said.
Soon they reached Kubi and touched down.
"Lets head to the local Inn. I need to rest." Leaf said, peering over Tropic's shoulder.
Ven's' P.O.V
"Alright now jump in the water."
A deep groan rumbled from my throat. "Wha- Why?, I see no benefit from jumping in that lake."
Sparky narrowed his eyes. "Oh my Arceus! Would you rather LICK yourself clean? Cuz' I can show you that too."
"Eww. Isn't there another way!?"
"You can't always bathe and groom at the frickin Bathrooms in the guild. Don't you know how to be a Pokemon?!" Sparky was getting quite annoyed.
(CUZ IM NOT A FUCKING- Deep Breaths...Deep Breaths)
"..."
"Fine I guess I'll just use Force." Sparky said as a white energy surrounded him and he came charging at me. Suddenly the pocket-watch began to glow and time slowed down. I slowly walked to the left and watched as Sparky slowly ran by, he then slowly began to fall into the lake. But what happened next was weird... time completely stopped and wouldn't resume... the world around me was dark and eerie, Sparky was still in mid-air barely touching the water.
"Whats going on?"
There was a sudden flash and a white beam of light struck the gray landscape. I ran toward it and found that it was coming from my treasure bag. The book I took from Scarlet suddenly crashed next to me and then the once indiscernible words there flipped and twisted in a blue light and slowly became legible.
"Book of Time..."
Then the book opened to the first page and read:
Welcome Ventus
You have been chosen
To be given the ability to manipulate time to your will
It turned another page, which read:
To control the watch you must recite this chant
Time flows calm, Time flows free
Time can hide, Time can see
Time comes slowly, time goes fast
Time will linger, time outlasts
The pocket-watch began to glow again and there was a burning sensation on my paw. I looked at my paw and a gear of of some sort seemed to be tattooed to it. The book closed and stopped glowing.
"Um... time resume!"
...
"Time start"
...
"What am I supposed to say?"
I glanced at the "Book of Time" and opened it.
"How am I supposed to use this damned pocket-watch?"
The book flashed and the pages began to turn rapidly and my question was answered.
"The words are simple. To start say Initium, to stop say Cieste. To slow down say Tardo, and to speed up say Propello."
Then it shut and stopped glowing.
Holding the pocket-watch up, I thought to myself.
"Hope I pronounce this right... INITIUM!"
The watch began to glow brightly and the color returned.
SPLOOSH!
I remembered what happened and quickly shoved the book back into my treasure bag, and hid the pocket-watch in my mane.
With the watch hidden I whispered "Propello"
I felt a weird sensation and I began to run back to the lake. I noticed that everything was breezing by, when I stopped the sensation left me, and I watched as Sparky swam back to the grass.
Sparky climbed onto the grass and shook himself off.
"How did you... dodge my Quick Attack?"
"A what?"
"Quick Attack? Don't you know what moves are?"
"No."
"So how will you protect yourself in a battle?"
"I-I don't know."
"Great. I'll just take you to the Dojo, and have the Move Tutor teach ya somethin'."
"Well, look at the moon! Time to head in!" I said walking back toward the guild.
"Uh-Uh-Uh! The moon is only at half-rise! That means we have a bunch of time left! Now back to grooming, If you want to look good, you have to groom good. You just can't have you fur sticking left and right.
"Oh no..."
