So, in my previous chapters I had it where Isaac had green eyes instead of blue. Lol. And that he had blonde hair instead of brown. Haha. My bad, guys. Totally forgot to go in and edit those. But, from now on his eyes will be blue and his hair will be brown. Woot, go me! *laughs* Thank you 1998baby for mentioning that.
This one isn't that long either. I think I might have to work on the lengths of my stories. -_-' But, no worries, I'm going to make sure that they will be a little longer the next time I update.
And thank you guys for all who have reviewed. It makes my day when someone likes one of my stories.
Disclaimer: I own nothing except my OC's and my own ideas.
Night falls too quickly in my opinion. Isaac said he had to go back to the abandoned bus station and see if Derek was back. I was upset, who wouldn't be, but I said okay none the less. And plus, it was a Sunday night, meaning school would be in session tomorrow morning. We said our goodbyes and I watched him disappear down the road.
I walked to the kitchen to look at the calendar hanging on the fridge; I point to the day when my parents should be back home from their business trip. I sigh, one more week. I trudge up the stairs to my bedroom and flop down on my bed. My laptop sits on my nightstand and I grab it to see if I have any mail.
'Hey, I have to news to tell you.' I smirk, knowing that's from Stiles.
'Why aren't you messaging Stiles back? You know he will go crazy if you don't send him a reply.' – Scott.
'Hey! Meladee, if you don't reply to me this instant I will go through this computer and punch you.' – Stiles.
'You should have given your number to Stiles that way you wouldn't be getting messages to fill your inbox with. But, seriously, reply to Stiles, he's driving me insane.' – Scott.
'Meladee! MELADEE! Ugh, fine, just make sure you go to school tomorrow. I have stuff I need to tell you.' – Stiles.
Shaking my head, I turn my laptop off and go to bed.
I get to school early. Julie pulls up seconds after I do and sits next to me on the bench. I tell her I'm waiting for Stiles and she nods.
15 minutes later I see his blue jeep pull up next to my car and he launches himself out of his car door. He storms over to me and points at me, "Why haven't you been replying to my messages? I have some important news to tell you!"
"Sorry Stiles. I didn't know my life revolved around you. Ha-ha. I was with Isaac yesterday, helping him with his homework," I reply.
He opens his mouth and then shuts it. He sighs and plops down next to me and Julie. Scott stands in front and tells Stiles to just tell us what he wanted to say.
"It's about all of the people who have been dying. There's a pattern. All of them were on the swimming team – Isaac's dad was the coach. I told dad that I would meet him at the Sheriff's Department today."
I nod, "Okay. So Matt wants all of the swimming team dead because…?"
"Maybe they were all mean to him or did something to him," Julie adds.
"That's what Scott and I were thinking too. You guys can go to class if you want, but Scott and I are going to go back to my house to look at some more documents."
Julie and I say okay. Both of the boys start back to Stiles' car, but before they make it I tell Stiles to hand me his phone.
"Why?"
I shake my head, "In case something happens, duh. You two be careful."
As they walk off, Julie and I make our way towards the front doors of the school. "Jules, let's get school over with. And fast. I don't want those two getting hurt." Julie says okay and we head off to our first class of the day.
Lunch is finally here. It feels like school has been dragging all day. I see Julie at our usual table and I stride over to her.
"Hear anything from Scott or Stiles?" she asks.
"Nope, you?"
She shakes her head, "No. I hope they're not in trouble. Have you seen Allison?"
"No, I haven't. I've seen Lydia, but no Allison. Huh, maybe something is going on at the Sherriff's Station."
Julie replies, "Let's hope not. After school we should head over there."
"Right."
Two class periods later, school is finally over. I put all of my things in my locker, except my bag, and walk outside to my car. Julie is waiting for me. "We going to our houses first and then meeting up or do you want to come to my house and just take my car?" I ask her.
"Yeah, that sounds good. Meet ya at your house then."
It takes 20 minutes to reach my house. Julie is waiting for me when I get there. I get out of my car and ask her if we should head straight over there or wait for a while. She replies that maybe we should give it a few minutes or so, that maybe they're just looking up stuff with Stiles' dad. I say okay and we go inside my home.
It's late. Too late. Stiles would normally send me something around this hour – he always does. We're starting to get antsy. Jules is walking back and forth by the front door and I'm fiddling with my hands.
"Okay." I stand. "I can't take this anymore. We're heading to the station – now. Come on Jules, we're going to see if they need help."
"Great. I was going to explode."
We dash to my car and take off to the Sherriff's Department. Upon arriving, Julie gets a phone call from Stiles. He isn't saying anything, just grunting. Julie yells in the phone and asks if he and Scott are alright. She looks at me when there isn't a reply. She tells me that no one is answering. A shot is then heard on the other line. We lock eyes and I push on the gas.
We make it there in record time. "Isn't that Mrs. McCall's car? What's she doing here?" asks Julie.
"I have no idea. But I plan on finding out. Let's go. And be careful," I reply.
Julie and I cautiously make our way inside the building. When we get inside we both notice blood smeared on the floor. I gulp and step over the dead deputy, Julie in tow. We hear shouts coming from one of the offices and we duck down.
I whisper, "That's Matt's voice. I'm betting he came into the Sherriff's Department and demanded something from Scott. I'm guessing that Scott didn't have what he wanted and that pissed him off. The kanima, I mean Jackson, killed the deputy because Matt said to."
"And Scott's mom? Why is she here?"
I shrug. "Maybe they needed her to come down to the station. Write a report, I don't know. Come on."
We crawl to the open office and notice two people lying on the floor. "Stiles!" Julie whispers harshly.
He doesn't move. Why can't he move? His lips make a frown before he mutters, "Julie? What the hell are you doing here?"
"Well you're welcome Stiles. Meladee and I came to rescue you, and you ask what the hell am I doing here? You're the one who called me," she yells/whispers.
"I did what?"
I smirk, "He butt dialed you Jules. Great going Stilinski. You just put our lives in danger as well."
"Meladee, I swear once I'm done being paralyzed, I'm going to smack you on the head."
"Would you guys shut the hell up and get this kid off of me?" a reply from under Stiles.
Jules and I snicker as we drag Stiles off of the alpha werewolf. Julie's eyes widen when she looks at the guy lying beneath Stilinski, "That's Derek? My God, Mel, why didn't you tell me he was such a hunk? I mean, I knew what he looked like, but damn, he's even hotter in person."
"Shut up Jules, and help me pull Stiles off of him. He needs to help Sco –?"
"What are you guys doing here?" Scott barks.
We look behind us to find Scott standing between the office walkthrough. "Uh, Stiles butt dialed Julie and we thought you guys needed help…?" is my reply.
He shakes his head and helps us pull Stiles to another room. "We need to hurry. Jackson has just gone full kanima and is ready to kill anyone who gets in his way. Here, this room. Jackson can't get through this door. You guys stay here; Derek and I will hold him off. Don't move."
We all nod. Stiles can hear his dad down the hall and he starts to crawl towards his voice. Julie holds him still, "Stiles, didn't you hear what Scott just said? You can't go out there – Jackson will kill you!"
"I don't care, Julie. My dad needs help. Either help me get there or stay here."
I glance at Jules and shrug. "Might as well. No use staying here."
"You're right. Stiles' dad needs saving and so does Scott's mom, where ever she is."
Stiles tells us that she's in a cell, where his father is. I grab one of Stiles' shoulders while Jules grabs the other one.
"Come on."
It takes a few minutes to get to the jail cells. Stiles is very heavy when paralyzed.
Matt is standing beside Stiles' father when we show up. He looks up and sees us holding Stiles.
"Meladee, Julie, what a surprise. Did they call you two to help?" Matt remarks. He laughs, "I don't see how you two can help them in this situation. Jackson is at my call, ready to kill anyone I set him on. And remember what I told you, Meladee? I said if you got in my way I would kill you. And now that you're in my way, Julie included, you will die."
Julie looks at me, shocked at what he said. "He said that? Meladee why didn't you tell the cops? Anyone?"
I glare in his direction, "He said that he would kill Isaac if I went to anyone. So I didn't."
"And that's a good girl too," he adds.
Stiles' father replies, "Leave them alone Matt. Please, let us help you."
"Help me? Does it look like I need saving?" Matts retorts hysterically. He hits Mr. Stilinski with the butt of his pistol and knocks him out in the process.
"Dad!" yells Stiles.
"Matt, Matt, please let me look at my son. Please, he's been shot. I'm a nurse. I need to see my son, I need to make sure he isn't hurt," Melissa, Scott's mom, replies sadly.
"Shut up!" He laughs, "He still hasn't told you, has he? Your own son hasn't told you what he is!"
Jackson shows up and tries to launch himself at us. Before he can, Derek, now fully wolfed out, jumps in front of us and kicks the kanima in the chest. Jackson gets back up, pissed, and attacks Derek, knocking him down. He then goes to Melissa's cell and tries to grab at her, but can't, due to the bars being in the way.
Scott shows up in his wolf form and tears Jackson from the bars. He turns to look at his mother and she shrinks back into the cell, scared of what her son has become. Scott looks at the ground, ashamed, and runs off after the kanima.
Julie and I set Stiles down against the wall. I go to Mr. Stilinski and search for jail keys. I find them next to him and open the cell. Scott's mother is scared, but she comes out none the less, and tends to Stiles' father.
Matt must have stepped out during Scott's interruption with the kanima. He's nowhere to be seen.
Stiles has come to and is helping Melissa with his dad. Julie and I look to one another and we both help with the stunned nurse and the troubled son.
"This has been an adventurous night, don't you think Mel?" responds Julie.
"You're right on that one Jules." I sigh, "I'm ready to go home and eat and then go straight to bed. You want to stay the night?"
"Sure. I'll tell my parents later in the morning. I'll just wear something from your closet for school tomorrow."
Jules and I get to school a few minutes late. We woke up around 7:30 am. Our little escapade last night didn't help much.
We go our separate ways. Jules heads to her locker down the hall and goes to her first period – music. I find Isaac standing by my locker. He looks pissed about something when I get to his side.
"Why didn't you call me once you got home yesterday? I was worried about you, Mel," my boyfriend says.
I give him a quick kiss, "Sorry. Julie and I got caught up with Stiles and Scott at the Sherriff's Department last night. Stiles butt dialed Jules and we heard a gunshot. So we headed straight there."
His eyes narrow, "Yeah, I heard about what happened. Matt got killed too. The cops don't know who did it, but they found him in the creek down the road from the station. He didn't do anything to you did he?" He hooks a finger under my chin and stares into my eyes.
I shake my head, "No, Isaac. Julie and I were okay. We didn't get hurt." I stroke his face with the palm of my hand and pull his face closer to mine. "I promise, nothing happened."
He smiles gently and kisses my lips. "I know. I just…"
"Nothing will happen to me. You forget that I'm a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and that I'm pretty good in Jujitsu," I reply softly.
Isaac chuckles, "And yet you get scared when I pop up in your bedroom unannounced."
Smiling, I pull him back to my lips. "Come on, I'm already late as it is." I take his hand and drag him to our class.
"It's nice of you two to join us, Mr. Lahey, Ms. Daniels," our teacher announces. "Take your seats."
"Yes sir," we say simultaneously.
Okie dokie guys, hope you guys liked it. It's not my favorite chapter, but it will do. I'm hoping to write a little more before school starts back up, which will be next week. Oh gosh, I'm so ready to graduate from college. After that I will have a little more time on my hands.
But, thank you for taking the time to read this. And if you guys have any suggestions about anything, let me know. I'm open to anything.
