Loki stretched out on Steve's couch as Steve worked diligently on important soldier stuff. He didn't bother to ask, nor did he care what it was about. At the moment he was more occupied with the slight movement he was feeling within his stomach. He recognized the feeling easily, for it wasn't his fist time being pregnant, though he often fathered more than he personally bore. The feeling was still quite alien to him, but this time he'd be better prepared, but how to tell Steve was the question. Should I tell Steve? It was already two weeks past the day he found out, or more like he proved himself right. He had a feeling for a while, but he hoped it wasn't true.

Dressed down to his casual Asgardian attire, he rested a hand on his stomach, but it was still too soon to feel it on the surface. He thought it could also be contributed to the thick fabric, but he couldn't be sure. He pressed his hand more firmly to his stomach, when Steve wandered out of the study, mumbling to himself. Loki quickly picked up the book from his chest and continued reading as if he never stopped.

Steve looked up from his work with a frown, "Sorry I'm not much for entertainment."

Loki shrugged, "It's no matter to me," he assured him.

"Why don't you turn on the TV? I'm sure you'll find something interesting, there's a thousand channels. God, I remember when there were only three."

Loki shook his head, "I have no need for meager entertainment," he held up the book. "This does just fine for me."

Steve to the plush chair, opposite of the couch, "What are you reading, now?" he asked with a smirk.

"Alice in Wonderland," Loki replied, "It's quite entertaining."

"Now that one, I recognize," Steve said. "Books just aren't what they used to be."

Loki watched the man delve himself into a flashback before interrupting, "What are we?"

It took Steve a moment to realize a question had been asked, "What?"

Loki sat up, about to repeat the question, when a knock came to the door.

"Hold that thought," Steve said as he rose to answer the door. Once the door was open, Bruce barged in, babbling something about a breakthrough on the report. Steve glanced around the room, but was surprised that Loki was nowhere to be seen.

Practically invisible, Loki looked to the open door, wondering if he should just leave. Steve had more important things to attend to, like protecting the world. He didn't need to hear the answer to his question, he already knew how it would go. Besides, Loki has important things to do as well, like his appointment with the Midgardian doctor known as a Pediatrician. He had to find out what was growing within him and in this world, they had a way to peer within. In times past, most of his children were odd in appearance, with an exception to his twins and Hel, or at least the top half of her. Not that Loki didn't love his children despite their looks, he loves them all greatly, he just had to know.

The clinic was loud and packed, full of chatty women. Lonna didn't like it one bit. What happened to making house calls and confining oneself to their chambers? Several of the women were quite huge, actually, (at least in her opinion,) making her wonder how large Midgardian litters were on average.

As time passed increasingly slow, Lonna found herself quite bored and regretting coming her in the first place. Things would go much quicker with one of her nurses back on Asgard, but she couldn't go there for that, not that anyone would be willing to help her.

Finally her name was called and she was brought to a small room, asked to lay on a table of sorts, lift her shirt and watch. In a matter of moments there it was on the screen, the tiny thing growing within her. She didn't think she'd be as shocked as she was to see it, but there it was, clear as day. Unlike her other many children, it appeared normal, or at least as normal as it could be. Two arms, two legs, one head, nothing seemingly supernatural, but who knows once it's born, it could be blue.

"Do you want to know the gender?" the doctor asked.

Lonna only shook her head, unable to peal her eyes from the screen. Despite how advanced Asgard was, she never had this opportunity to see her child before she's able to hold it in her arms. She choked back tears, finding it difficult to control her own emotions, a feeling she wasn't used to. The doctor cleaned her up, handed her a photo of the sonogram and sent her on her way.

Lonna was on cloud nine when she exited the clinic, hand clasped against her stomach. Steve crossed her mind and her smile quickly faded. She had yet to tell him, though she wasn't sure she wanted to. She was sure he'd think it was just a gimmick to hold him under her thumb and use him as she pleased. But she still didn't know how he truly felt about her. She never got the answer to the question she had asked earlier that day.

A devious grin crossed Lonna's face as Lonna quickly became Loki once more, out in the open where everyone could see him. He continued walking down the street as if nothing had happened. He strolled along and suddenly people started to recognize his face, some moved away like the parting of seas, others screamed and ran the other direction. He quite enjoyed it, but it didn't take long for the cops to arrive. They surrounded him, guns drawn and shouting for him to get on his knees, a bemused smirk on his face, "How the tides turn."

"GET. ON. YOUR. KNEES!" the cop demanded again.

Loki bowed then brought himself to his knees, hands raised.

"Down here," the guard grumbled, leading the way. It was a long walk to the end of the hall where Loki's fully enclosed cell resided. Stopping at his door, the guard took the key from his hip and unlocked the door. Holding it open, the guard stepped aside and gestured inward.

Steve approached the door and glanced in, not the least bit surprised to see Loki lounged on the bed or lack thereof, continuously tossing what appeared to be a rubix cube into the air. The fact that he had a rubix cube on the other hand was quite interesting. "I thought this was solitary confinement, how'd you even get one of those?" The guard popped his head into the cell, just as surprised as Steve.

Loki looked up as if just realizing they were there, "Got it off of one of the guards," he replied simply.

Steve looked to the guard who quickly shook his head. He looked back to Loki who was sitting up then back at the guard, "Mind giving us some privacy?" he asked.

The guard gave a concerned look, which Steve replied with a reassuring smile. The guard sighed and started to leave, but turned back just for a moment, "Just...holler if you need some help," he offered.

Steve nodded, "Will do." As soon as the guard was out of sight, Steve turned back to Loki with a questioning look. "What's this all about?"

Loki rose to his feet then wandered over towards Steve lazily, tilting his head to the side, "Do you not know what a cell is for?"

Steve rolled his eyes, "Come on, Loki, you know what I'm talking about."

Loki swallowed. There was just something about how Steve said his name that sent a surge through his body. Though it could be contributed to his raging hormones due to being pregnant. Several images of he and Steve doing several sinful things, flashed through his mind, making him feel really hot. Steve cleared his throat, catching Loki's attention, bringing him back into focus. "This is what your world thinks of me. I've done absolutely nothing and yet I'm apprehended on sight, merely because my face heightens awareness and scares all your precious mortals. Am I really someone you want to be associated with?"

"Where is this coming from?" Steve demanded.

Loki moved closer, leaving hardly any space between the two men, "Is it really that difficult a question? You, Captain America, poster child of everything American, as it were. You are ok being with me in public as a woman, but don't seem the least bit uncomfortable when we're together and I'm in my...natural form."

"Well, that's...I-"

"What are we?!" Loki shouted.

Steve froze gawking at the man in front of him, "What?" he asked, confusion seeping through his words.

Loki eyed the man up and down, "Do I have to spell it out? You and I, what are we? What am I to you? Just a warm body at night? Your dirty little secret? Is this how it's always going to be? I'm in a cage, for my crimes last year or do you not remember what I did to Manhattan? That was only the tip of the iceberg, who knows what I might do next. I'm the God of Chaos, I-"

Steve cut him off, seemingly by impulse, he grasped Loki on either side of the face, pulled him close and kissed him tenderly. A soft moan escaped Loki's mouth, encouraging Steve to push Loki up against the nearest wall and deepen the kiss. Loki's mind rushed and his body surged once more. He couldn't help but mentally curse the raging hormones, knowing he was sporting his own mjolnir in his pants.

Steve broke the kiss, glancing down at the bulge he had felt pressing against him and smirked.

"What's the matter, never saw a dick before?" Loki asked, cocking his head slightly.

Steve chuckled, "Getting used to Midgard slang?"

Loki lowered his eyes, "Just because you kissed me, doesn't mean that answers my question," he mumbled. "You can't trick the trickster.

Steve sighed, shoving his hands into his pockets, "I've...looked up some stuff, about this kind of stuff. Things have surly changed in seventy years. This sort of stuff is way more accepted now days then back in my time." Steve lowered his eyes sheepishly, "I...like...what we have together, but you must understand seventy years of being asleep takes a lot of catching up. I'm just not ready to be open about this sort of thing, not yet." He looked to Loki, eyes pleading, "I never expected you of all people, or even anyone like you, to be the person I enjoy being around the most. I like you...a lot, I just need to catch up to the 21st century," he chuckled.

Loki considered Steve's words for what seemed like a long time, before giving a short nod, "Ok."

Steve reached out, caressing Loki's face before kissing him once more. Once he pulled away, Loki looked at him, a hint of sorrow filled his eyes, "I need to tell you-"

"Rogers!" came a voice from down the hall. The two men looked to see Agent Coulson approaching. "Are we ready to roll?"

"Oh, right," Steve replied then looked back to Loki, "Luckily for you, you're under SHIELD's jurisdiction, therefore you're our responsibility. There's no need to keep you in this prison, since we'll be watching you."

"Lucky me," Loki groaned.

"Come on," Coulson said, "Fury's waiting back at Avenger's tower, he wishes to speak to Loki, A-SAP."

They piled into the SHIELD car, both Loki and Steve in the back while Coulson took shot gun. The ride was quiet most of the way, as Loki kept his eyes out the window. Subconsciously, Loki found himself rubbing his stomach as the inhabitant decided to exercise. He wanted to tell Steve, so bad, he needed to, but he needed to find the right time. Their situation was different, and he had to time it right. It's not like he could just blurt it out, especially not at that moment. It had to be just the two of them, but he had to wait to be sure Steve would stay for him, and not just for the baby, if even that. Maybe it would be better if I just disappeared, he thought to himself.

"Car sick?" Steve asked, suddenly, breaking Loki's thoughts.

Loki rose a brow, then realized he was still rubbing his stomach, "Something like that," he replied.

"Just don't throw up back there," Coulson interrupted, "We just had all our cars detailed."

"I'll keep that in mind," Loki replied. He leaned his head against the head rest, keeping his hand on his stomach. God he couldn't wait for it to be born. To have a child that looks like him for once, it was an exciting thought. Of course he'd love it just as equally as his other children, but he's had such odd children over the years, he never thought they could actually look normal. Part of him wondered if it'd be a frost giant, however, it could end up being much larger than him.

Steve watched him carefully, slight concern filling him as he wondered what was going on through Loki's mind. Though catching a hint of a smile on Loki's face, lifted the concern a bit.

They soon arrived at Avenger's Tower, up the elevator and to the meeting room. Fury chastised Loki as if he were a child, telling him to maintain his disguise while in public, so to prevent further chaos. Loki of course joked that chaos is only his nature, but Fury made it abundantly clear that Loki do as he's told if he wishes to continue working alongside SHIELD as an equal. Agreeing to Fury's demand, he was sent away, but decided to wonder the tower, finding himself alone with his thoughts, which wasn't always a good thing.
