Steve was just where Loki knew he'd find him, sitting in his apartment, looking through paper work. Loki appeared in the living room, as he often did and stared down at the man. He didn't make a sound, he hardly even breathed. He just waited to be noticed.

Sure enough Steve looked up from his work, only to meet Loki with a blank stare.

"Everything ok?" Loki asked, a hint of trepidation in his question.

Steve set down his stack of papers and rubbed his temples, "Yeah, everything is fine, I was just...Tony was really getting on my nerves today, but Thor stood up for us today."

Loki rose a brow, but didn't comment.

"Tony was just bashing our...relationship," he said with a blush. "Thor basically asked him why it mattered who loves who, for who they are rather than what they are. He made me feel good today."

"If that's so, why did you leave in such a rush?"

Steve bit his lip, casting his eyes to the ground. "I...it was just all the frustration built up..."

"You're a terrible lair," Loki said, "I am the God of lies, you know?"

Steve's blush deepened, "I'm , I'm just," he sighed, "I'm not ready to talk about it."

Loki furrowed his brow, "Okay," he nodded, "I'll leave it be, then." He began to move away until Steve reached forward, pulling him onto his lap. Steve kissed him tenderly, a hand holding the back of Loki's neck almost begging him to remain.

Loki didn't hesitate kissing him back. He draped his arms over Steve's shoulders and pressed him into the couch. It didn't take long for it to move to the bedroom where clothes quickly dotted the ground, thrown about in every direction.

Loki being particularly aggressive in his stated, took the reins doing as he pleased, to the captain. Steve made no objections, but was a bit upset when it was over, two hours later.

Loki rested a sleepy head on Steve's chest, his stomach pressed against Steve's side. "I think I woke them up," he smiled.

Steve chuckled, "I can feel theme kicking my liver!"

Loki snorted a laugh, "I'm sorry."

"There's nothing to be sorry about," Steve assured him. He rested a hand on Loki's stomach, "I love you."

Loki gawked at Steve in undeniable shock. Had he heard him correctly? Or was his mind playing trick on him, something that happened often. "You...you love me?"

Steve's lips moved, trying to form words, but nothing seemed to be coming out. His face on the other hand, gave everything away. His face was, at least, three shades of red and the disbelief written all over, showed he wasn't expecting it either. "Ye-yess...?"

Tears came to Loki's eyes, "I've been waiting for a long while to hear you say that," he smiled, "I love you too." Rubbing his eyes, he cursed, "I hate being so emotional."

"But it comes with good cause," Steve reminded him.

Loki nodded, resting his face back onto Steve's chest, "Yeah...I guess it is."

A few days passed and everything seemed normal. No one brought up what happened a few days ago when Thor put Steve on the spot, not even Loki. Thor on the other hand was working on some prince duties, keeping the peace in the Nine Realms. He could only spend so much time in each, even if Midgard might be one of his favorites.

Today ran a bit slowly since Fury really didn't have much to go over in the days meeting. After the fact, most the group stayed behind planning a leisurely day just to relax as a group. It was a nice change for once.

Loki was especially enjoying the relaxing day for once. All these long hours listening to Fury talk was getting old fast. He leaned back in the chair, rubbing his stomach in small circles, smiling to himself as he felt the movement in response.

Steve took his spot beside Loki, handing him a mug of hot tea, then sipped his own cup of coffee.

"How romantic," Tony cooed.

"You're just jealous, because anyone you try to woo, ends up screwing you in the end," Natasha retorted, rolling her eyes.

"Multiple times," Tony winked. "And I quite enjoy it."

"That's not what I meant!" she snapped.

"And that's not what I meant," Tony added with a wink.

Natasha cocked her head in confusion, but only Tony would ever truly understand what Tony meant.

Steve smirked, "Face it, we're not on that level of insanity."

Natasha raised her mug, "I'll drink to that."

"Wow, stars and stripes brought some fire," Tony replied with a hint of surprise.

"And don't expect much more than that," Loki chimed in.

Steve shot a glance at Loki, "Hey, aren't you supposed to be standing up for me?"

Loki chuckled, "I know, but it's funny to-"

"Sir, incoming attack on the south wall," JARVIS's voice interrupted.

"But we're on the-" Tony was interrupted by a loud crash as a figure blasted through the wall. Tony, being the man that he was, he's always prepared even on a lazy day. Activating his bracelets, the ironman suit was on its way to him, "Why didn't you give me any further warning?!"

"My apologies, sir, something was jamming my signal," JARVIS replied.

Everyone was scattered about the room, Loki had been knocked out of his seat, holding his stomach. Steve rushed to his side, resting a hand on his back, "Are you and the babies okay?"

Loki nodded, "We're fine," he assured them, "Just get rid of that guy!"

No one was really prepared to defend themselves other than Tony and Bruce, both were suited up, but Steve, Natasha and Clint hand nothing more than a few chairs and various room decor to protect themselves with.

The dust cleared as a giant man like machine stood before the group, "I AM THE CRIMSON DINAMO!" the machine announced.

"Typical," Ironman said, "At least we know how to find him on facebook now."

The man fired a blast at Ironman, which he easily deflected, "The green giant and I will hold him off, you guys suit up, or at least find some time to work with," Ironman called over his shoulder. "And get Mother Mary to the nursery, I'm sure she doesn't want to be around all the scary- Owe!" he snorted when some ice hit the side of his helmet. "Hurtful! Why don't you take some of that aggression out Megatron over here."

Loki rose to his feet with some struggle and steadied himself. With a glow of gold light, multiples of Loki began to fill the room, "We'll keep him distracted for as long as we can," the Loki clones all said at once.

"You should get out of here!" Steve objected.

The Crimson Dinamo shot off a few more blasts, "Enough chit chat!" He took a few steps forward, "This establishment is going down!"

"Down Bessy!" Tony demanded, "Steve, get your girlfriend out of here, we'll hold the fort!"

"But-"

"Just, GO!" Natasha shouted, dodging a blast headed her way.

Clint managed to find one of his spare bow sets that he hid in the room. Taking a tip from Tony, he learned to be prepared, despite it being costly. He had planted various bow and arrow sets throughout the building, just for this sort of situation.

Loki and Steve made their way down the halls, but the further they got from the chaos, the more Steve looked over his shoulder. Loki stopped suddenly, looking to Steve, "You should go back and fight with them." Steve frowned, staring back at him. Loki only stared back with a frown, "I know it's killing you inside, just go, help your friends fight off that guy."

"I need to make sure you're safe," Steve objected.

"I'll be fine," Loki assured him, "I know how to defend myself, unless you've forgotten."

Steve sighed, "I know," he agreed.

"Then why do you insist on staying around, go fight," Loki egged him on.

Steve shook his head, "No."

Loki narrowed his brow, "Why not?"

"I CAN'T LOSE YOU!"

Loki's jaw dropped as he gawked at the man before him. He couldn't believe what he had heard, "Excuse me?"

The building shook with a rumble, catching the men's attention, only for a moment. Steve locked eyes with Loki, "I can't lose you," he repeated in a lower tone. "I couldn't stand losing you and..." he looked to Loki's stomach, "and our children. Never would I have imagined myself a father in this day and age. Never would I find myself," he paused to swallow back a lump in his throat, "In...love...with another man." He moved closer to Loki, trying to read the expression on the man's face. Hesitantly he grabbed Loki's hands and held them firmly, "I can't imagine myself without you in my life."

Loki's eyes widened and he took a step back, "Are...are you...purposing to me? Is now really the time?!"

The building shook again, making Loki lose his balance, but luckily Steve was quick enough to catch him. Holding him patiently, Steve looked down at Loki, eyes searching, "I...I suppose I am," he smiled and the building shook again. "So, what do you say?"

Loki only gawked up at the man until the building shook again and a piece of the ceiling fell towards them, "STEVE!" Loki shouted before shoving Steve out of the way just in time.

There was a loud boom, and a cloud of dust. "NO!" Steve cried out. Steve lurched forward through the cloud of dust to find Loki laying on his side. "No, no, no!" Steve crouched down beside the man, checking for vital signs on both Loki and the babies. Loki groaned, which Steve could only hope was a good sign. Quickly he scooped the man up into his arms just as some SHIELD agents ran towards him. They were probably on their way to the fight, when they spotted the two men.

"What happened?" the female agent asked.

"Part of the ceiling crumbled off from the battle," Steve replied quickly, "I think it might have hit him in the head."

"We'll take him somewhere safe, Captain," the male said, "You should get back to the fight."

Steve frowned unsure, but slowly nodded, "Okay..." he sighed.

They lifted Loki with a grunt and hurried off in the other direction. Steve quickly made his way back to the fight, after making a quick pit stop at the armory.
