Hey guys it's been a really long time since I wrote a chapter for this story. Hope you all enjoy it and I'm already working on the next chapter so hopefully it does not take too long to finish and then not too long for me to put it up.

Chapter 20

Ash's POV

She lay peacefully asleep in my arms. I couldn't look away from her. I've been waiting to see her the moment that I turned my back to her and walked away to make myself worthy of her love. It was hard for me to look back and see everything that I had done before I met her. She was the single point where I had completely changed my life and I knew that I would never be the person I was before.

Just as I closed my eyes to give into sleep there was a faint knock on the door. Without saying anything the door popped open and James' head slid into view.

"Hate to ruin the moment but Theory wants all the guys together to talk about the situation and what we're going to do. He doesn't want to get the girls involved right now. You should come and just let her rest right now after everything she's been thought."

There was nothing that I could say to convince him to let me stay here with her while it was peaceful. Yet at the same moment I wanted to know what we were going to do in order to keep her safe. I nodded for him to leave and I carefully left Mare sleeping in bed. I planned on listening to her thoughts as softly as I could so I could be here when she woke up.

Downstairs most of the guys looked tired yet some of them were eager to get this going. I just leaned against the doorframe just in case Mare woke up. Theory just nodded at me before he started. Apparently I was the last one to come.

"Now that we're all here we can talk about what to do about the threat against Ash's soulmate." Thierry looked around at everyone making sure that everyone was paying attention.

"There has to be a reason why Jared would be interested in her." James leaned forward making sure the others could hear him. "He wouldn't just be going after someone like that."

"Well he wouldn't be taking his time if he was going to kill her." Quinn just looked casually over to me knowing that it was hard for me to think of her in danger. "Now all we have to do is figure out why he wanted her."

We ended up talking about it for a while. Most of all we were trying to understand why he wanted her.

"For right now though we need to keep her safe. Jared probably knows about us here and she has school." Thierry stood and went over to one of the side tables. He picked up a folder and looked at each of us. "I want some of you to go with her and make sure that she is protected. The others I want to distract Jared until she is safely out. If he thinks that she is still here we can deal with him better. I will leave all the paper work here for you all to decide who will go and who will stay." He placed the folder on the table in front of everyone. "I recommend that more stay here. We should start this tomorrow though so that she will be home before nightfall. Anyways, do not stay up too late and I will see you all for breakfast." With that said he left the room with us to deal with the groups.

"Well obviously Ash is going back with Mare." Morgead was the first one to speak out of everyone. "Now all we have to do is figure out who's going with him." He ran his hand over his head. It was clear that he was tired and as I looked around the room it seemed like all of them were.

"How about we do that in the morning." I straightened up and stopped leaning against the wall. "Besides, I think that the girls would be mad if we figure this out without them." All of the guys agreed and we went our separate ways into our rooms.

Mare looked so peaceful as she laid in my bed fast asleep. I slowly made my way back to the bed to lie beside her again. Just as I laid down she rolled closer to me and cuddled up right beside me. It felt like she knew when I came back. I held her in my arms and slowly went back to sleep.

Morning came and as I stretched and fully woke up I noticed that Mare was already awake beside me. She had her chin resting against my chest watching me.

"Morning Mare." I spoke through a yawn, it was only 8:00 but it was still early for me. I know that it would take me a couple of hours to become fully awake.

"Morning Ash, did you know that you're a heavy sleeper?"

"I've been told that." I stretched a little more and a yawn went through my lips before I realized what she was saying. "How long have you been trying to wake me up?"

"About half an hour." She held up a note. "Breakfast will be in 15 minutes." I just rolled onto my stomach and tried to sleep again. Just as my eyes closed she was pushing at me. "Ash Redfern you are not going back to sleep right now." I pulled her down beside me and just held her making sure that she couldn't push me anymore. She seemed to be content for right now but I knew that we both should get up. There were a lot of things to go through today.

Downstairs it was the usual. James and Poppy were talking about something weird while they ate their cereal. Rashel and Quinn were seeing whose better at arm wrestling. Maggie was explaining things to Delos still. Jez and Morgead were probably still in bed and I would be to if Mare didn't get me up. Thierry and Hannah were both working probably on the transcripts for the people who were going back to Blaire Creek seeing as we didn't know how long this would take.

"Ok so we should tell the girls about what's going on." Everyone went silent and paid attention to James. I sat down next to Mare and wrapped my arm around her waist for comfort. "Mare can't stay here so some of us have to go and protect her while the others stop Jared and keep him distracted here. We all will need to try to learn what he wants with Mare." Surprisingly the girls didn't have anything to say about it, they just simply agreed.

The hardest part now was to determine who was going and who was staying.
