Update! One out of six exams done. It was okay, but the next one is going to be a bitch. Anyway, read the update. Harry has a lot of things on his mind.

Unedited as of yet.

Harry floo-ed into the public entrance for the Ministry of Magic. He was just happy they reinstated the phone boxes to enter, and removed the toilet routes. He still hadn't mastered a Drying Charm and he didn't want to walk into the Ministry, looking like a person who got thrown into a swimming pool.

Everyone around him whispered to each other as he walked up the path to Kingsley's office. It reminded him of a bleaker time, when he was doubted by almost everyone in Wizarding London. Even the person who checked people's wands just looked at him blankly. He put his own wand on the machine and got the slip of paper out. The guy seemed to come back to his senses as he quickly said, "Sorry sir, but thank you. My son was bitten by a werewolf during the year of You-Know-Who's reign and we were struggling with choices."

Harry was surprised. He immediately said, "Please don't call me sir. I'm more than ten years younger than you. It needed to be said by someone, and if giving a speech makes a difference, I am ready to give a million speeches."

The man smiled as he said, "Bless you, Harry Potter. You can go in."

Harry walked up the path, deciding to meet Ron on his way back. He got into the lift and everyone in the crowded lift started thanking him. He felt even more awkward than when they had proclaimed him the "Chosen One". He decided to take it in stride and just bowed his head and shook everyone's hands.

He got out alone, and walked up to Kingsley's office. Cho Chang sat outside, and Harry realized that she was the new secretary. A smile grew on her face as she rushed around the desk to hug him. He hugged her back awkwardly and asked, "Is Kingsley free? I needed to talk to him."

She gave a flirty smile as she asked, "Why don't you spend some time with me and then go in?"

Harry knew the look on her face. It was the one she had donned the Christmas of his Fifth Year. He immediately said, "Sorry, but Ron's waiting for me."

Cho immediately pouted, but then nodded as she turned around and opened Kingsley's door. She whispered something, and Harry could hear Kingsley's booming voice: Send him in!

She turned around and started, but he raised a hand as he said, "Don't worry, I already heard."

He walked in and hugged Kingsley, with more enthusiasm than he did Cho. Kingsley gestured to a chair and asked, "Tell me, what do you want? You have most of Britain willing to do whatever you want after that speech you made."

Frustrated, Harry asked, "I don't understand. Everyone makes it sound like I did a great thing. But it's something anyone with compassion would do."

Kingsley replied, "It's very easy for people to vote, and it's very easy for them to give their opinions to their friends or in the privacy of their own homes. However, to give a speech which not only played on radios throughout Britain, but also in other Wizarding countries, is a big deal."

Harry was flabbergasted. "Wait, it aired in America as well? At least tell me it didn't leak on any Muggle sites."

Kingsley said, "No, that transmission is very secure. Anyway, what's the special occasion that you came here?"

Harry didn't beat around the bush. "Well, okay, so since I've been in America the last few months, I've made a friend, well, boyfriend. He's really special to me and I was wondering if there was any chance I could tell him about the magic part of me."

Kingsley asked, "Are you planning to propose to him already?"

Harry almost shrieked, "God no!"

Cho came rushing in, saying, "I heard a shriek. What happened?"

Kingsley just shooed her off. As she closed the door behind her, he said, "She seems good, but loves eavesdropping. I'll let her stay for one more month, but if this continues, I'll have to fire her. Okay, back to your question. The Statute of Secrecy can be broken only if the person is a member of your family or a spouse. But I know your trust issues, and you must trust him a lot if you want to tell him."

Harry pleaded, "I don't want to be called a liar because I hid such a big part of my life."

Kingsley looked contemplative as he said, "I'll have to think over this. I'll let you know by… when do you leave?"

Harry promptly replied, "Mid-April."

Kingsley smiled. "Okay, there's time. I'll floo you or tell Weasley to tell you."

Harry got up, shook his hand and left immediately, not wanting to talk to Cho.

25th March, 2011

Harry had invited Hermione and Ron over for brunch. They floo-ed in on time as Harry laughed.

"Hermione pulled you here, didn't she?"

Ron groaned. "She said if I took too long to take a bath, she'd pull me out and Apparate me while I was naked."

Harry made a face. "Thanks for not showing me that image in real life. So, pancakes? Hash browns? Muffins?"

Both looked shocked as they entered the kitchen to find the counter full of food. Harry shrugged as he said, "I couldn't sleep. I made twenty cupcakes, but I ate them at six when I knew I was starving."

They immediately filled their plates as they sat around the table Harry had put in there.

Ron spoke through a mouthful of pancakes. "I remember when it was just the three of us and Kreacher here. He made tasty food. Where is he anyway?"

Harry smiled mischievously. "He has a tiny crush on Winky. He's not doing anything since she and Dobby were a thing before well… But I told him to go hang out with her before he randomly asked her out of the blue."

Hermione said, "Harry Potter: Matchmaker. It has a nice ring to it."

Ron asked, "Are you thinking of doing something other than writing or you like it a lot?"

Harry said, "I like writing, but not when I get stuck in a writer's block. I'm thinking if I should check out universities. Plus, if I apply next year, I might be able to go to college in the same area Kurt does."

Both of them smiled at the love-struck look on Harry's face. Hermione got the "research mode" look and said, "I'll look into it. There must be some way to convert OWLs and your other marks into suitable ones for Muggle School."

Ron laughed. "Harry doesn't have an excuse for bad study work seeing how no creatures would come crawling into a Muggle School."

Harry shouted, "Now you just jinxed it." He immediately threw a bread roll at Ron's face, who caught it with his Keeper skills and threw back a bit of pancake. They ended up having a big food-fight. It was as if their friendship had never been broken in the first place.
