LETS ROLL.
As Natsuko boarded the train leaving for the city that Sabertooth was in, she felt a sense of foreboding, as she hated traveling.
Traveling wasn't something that was enjoyable for Natsuko. Like her father, she easily got motion sickness that made her sick to the stomach, especially on trains, but anything moving would suffice.
The train started to move, gaining speed quickly, and Natsuko began to feel more and more nauseous with time. The only thing that kept her sane was the thought of getting to Sabertooth faster than if she was on foot. Too bad she didn't have any trusty friend to knock her out.
Once the train reached its fifth stop, somewhere called Freesia town, Natsuko couldn't take it anymore. She got off at that stop, not caring if it would take longer to get to Sabertooth at this point.
She started walking north, as that was the direction she was supposed to go, not noticing anything outstanding about this town except for a large, old church that was in the middle of the town. She was almost at the edge of town when she heard people, namely men, shouting. As she focused in on their words, she realized they were talking to her.
"Oi, you! You girl, there! Yes, you!" One of the men called as she pointed to herself.
"Wanna come hang out with us? We'll make sure you have a very fun time," the other man yelled, raising his eyebrows suggestively.
This disturbed Natsuko, as she was only 14 and they seemed as if they were at least 40, if not older. She shuddered, yet one of the men started to approach her. He was rotund, hairy, had a mustache, and upon closer inspection had extremely yellow teeth. When he got near her, his arms started to reach out and he started talking.
"Come here girl, I promise we won't hurt you, just come and I promise you'll have lots of fun. You might even get a reward for coming with us."
This whole scenario startled Natsuko, but after the man who had approached her came, she had been snapped out of her stupor and realized what was happening. And then she got mad. Very mad.
"THE HECK ARE YOU DOING! GET AWAY FROM ME YOU IDIOT! I'LL HURT YOU IF YOU DON'T," she yelled. Angrily, she started spewing fire everywhere, effectively scaring the men and everyone in the surrounding area. And burning down the surrounding area as well. Like father, like daughter, after all. Seeing the destruction, she thought Oh crap and proceeded to run out of the area, as fast as her legs could carry.
She ran into the forest and ended up in the middle of, stopping to take a rest. In the complete silence, she couldn't remember the last time she felt this peaceful. Seconds later... GURGLE. A deafening gurgle came from her stomach, and Natsuko groaned. She was starving.
Natsuko started wandering around, trying to stay due north and looking for food, when she came upon a patch of wild mushrooms and berries. Her stomach being in the empty state it was in, she didn't stop to think about common sense, promptly stuffing whatever she could grab into her mouth. Of course, in doing this, failed to notice that most of the items were quite awkward colors, such as bright blue, neon green, and egg cream yellow. Because that wasn't weird at all.
She swallowed, signed contentedly, promptly threw up, and deciding she could do with a nice rest, fell asleep under a tree.
Meanwhile at Fairy Tail
"What are you talking about, Katsuro?" Asked Rags, confused and suspicious about this family's reaction.
"Umm... Well..." Stuttered Katsuro. Everyone was slightly shocked at seeing such a well known tough kid actually stutter. "Am I actually allowed to tell?" He asked, addressing his parents.
"Well... it's probably for the best," Levy said gently, "Would you like to tell or would you like me to do it?"
"Umm..." Katsuro was torn. On one hand, if he didn't, what if his father saw him as cowardly or not tough enough? On the other, this was a really sensitive matter... And it was his mother's best friend after all...
"It's ok. I'll do it," Katsuro boldly declared. Trying to sound as nonchalant as possible, he started.
"A few years ago, I was going through my mom's stuff because I was bored. I found a picture of her and another person who was blonde, along with a blue hair ribbon. I went to go ask mom about it, but when I showed it to her, she became quiet and looked really sad. I became alarmed, but eventually she told me that this person was her best friend who had left a few years ago. Her name was... uh... Luigi? She kind of reminded me of a bunny, what with her hair so bouncy looking and her looking so happy, kind of like a bunny..." Half of the guild was listening at this point, and they felt like they had an inkling of where this was going. And they didn't like it one bit.
"Anyway, mom told me this woman... Oh, now I remember, I think the woman's name was Lucy?" At this point, the guild was riveted on where this story was going, as they had a feeling it would lead to Lucy coming back. "Mom told me this woman would come back soon, but she had no idea when, so I had an idea to smell the ribbon, and memorize the smell of the ribbon, so if I smelled it, I could have an idea of if this Lucy woman was near or not.
"I tried to learn how to estimate how far someone was from the looks of their smell, and right now, it is the closest I have smelled her, about 5 towns away?" Everyone looked shocked at how far the adolescent dragon slayer could smell.
"Usually, I can smell her about 7 towns away, but now she is 5. This could mean she is coming closer, because I have been smelling her more often."
At this point, everyone who had known Lucy was becoming excited at the prospect of her coming back, while the children were confused as to who this Lucy exactly was. Only Asuka, the eldest of the children, found that name to be familiar, because right now all of them were spacing out. All of the older Fairy Tail members wanted to start partying at this news, as it was the closest news of Lucy coming back as they had hear, when suddenly,
"WAIT. ISN'T LUCY THE NAME OF NATSUKO'S MOM?" Asuka shouted out, surprised.
"WHAT? REALLY? WAIT I NEVER KNEW THAT," Katsuro yelled, also in shock.
"DID ANY OF US KIDS EVER KNOW THAT?" Rags asked.
"WAIT SO IS NATSUKO'S MOM COMING BACK? WON'T SHE BE SO HAPPY THEN?!" Asuka bellowed.
"MAYBE?" Katsuro replied.
Before anyone had time to do anymore yelling or screaming or shouting, the door opened, and a female silhouette came into view. Everyone was frozen, thinking it was Lucy, that she was finally back. The door opened wider, the silouhette became clearer, and then, "Delivery for Droy of Fairy Tail? A 7 Tiered red velvet cake with marbled chocolate and vanilla frosting?"
Everyone face palmed. Hard.
Droy came up, embarrassed, signed for the cake, took it, and left very fast, trying to get away from this awkward situation.
Fairy Tail was disappointed, but some people were beginning to realize that is Katsuro was correct, then she would be 5 towns away. Five. It would be impossible for her to suddenly cross five towns and be there.
As the guild settled down and tried to relax and get back to their rowdy selves, the children felt happy for their absent friend who was probably going to get her mother back soon. They just hoped that their friend would be able to come back safe and soon.
Meanwhile in the Middle of a Forest
Lucy was walking, tired from her grueling journey. She was glad she only had a few towns left to cross.
Soon she came upon a sleeping form next to some vomit. The form was a teenage girl with pink hair, something very rare. It made her feel so nostalgic that she gave in to the alluring thought of sleep, laying down next to the sleeping figure, away from the vomit.
