Hey it's the last chapter! Yey!
Recent Glee: Umm... it sucked. Like I liked the Ryley part while Artie and Tina sang in the choir room the first time around... and Santana's version of Don't Rain On My Parade. Freaking Rachel got me so annoyed with her!
By eighty fifty, on Puck's phone, he was driving into the parkway of Jake's house thinking he was going to be there on time to answer the door before Shelby arrived and questioned why her daughter possibly in the arms of someone inside of the house.
However it was already nine-ten when he arrived, just as Shelby's car pulled up behind him. Puck got out of the car and looked at Shelby, who looked back at him strangely.
"Puck, what are you doing here? Who's watching Beth?" Shelby asked.
"Uh.. my brother. I had to go to the store."
"I didn't know you had a brother."
"Kinda didn't know myself until a few months ago," Puck said. "I had him come over and watch her so I could go to the store. He's a pretty good sitter."
"Alright." Shelby stated, still unsure as to why it felt odd. Something was off.
Puck kicked the door down and walked in screaming out Jake's name. "Jake! Jake!"
"Where are they?" Shelby asked.
Puck turned the corner and nearly lost himself in laughter.
Jake was laying on the couch resting peacefully, his arm drooping down on one side and the other arm wrapped around a small blonde girl in one of Jake's bands T-shirts, wearing it as a nightgown.
Puck pulled out the phone and snapped a photo of scene. Just in time as Jake stirred awake and saw Puck.
"Hey Puck...what time?" He yawned.
"Time for baby to go to Mommy." Puck said as he took Beth from Jake's arms, waking the girl a bit. "You ready Beth?"
Beth looked at him for a moment until she glanced over and saw her Mommy standing there with a smile and open arms. "Mommy!" She cheered as she reached over. As soon as she was being hugged by Shelby she said, "Mommy Uncle Jakey is fun!"
"Oh is he?"
"He made food, we went to park, made cookies, he sing Muppet song and read to me!" She said as she remembered a lot of the things. "I have fun all day."
"All...day?" Shelby looked at her, then over at Jake. "You've been with her...all day?"
"Yeah." Jake said as he stood next to the woman. "Puck said he told you—"
At this point both Jake and Shelby look over at Puck.
"I had stuff...important stuff." Puck laughed. "Puckerman stuff! Dude I'm getting a soda—"
"I swear I didn't know," Jake lied, remember seeing the girls in Puck's car. "He said you knew."
"Well alright," Shelby said. "Thanks again for watching her."
"No problem," Jake told her as he played with one of the toddler's curls. "She's a cool kid... oh wait I've got her art piece back in the kitchen—"
"Hey Jake! Pick up your trash! I had to throw away your little kid macaroni art! Who do you think you are, Beth's age!?" Puck laughed from the kitchen.
"Correction: Did have her art piece in the back." He said. "But I put some leftover pasta in a plastic bowl and come cookies in a bag. They're both in the carry bag here," He lifted up the bag. Shelby went to take it, but Jake held it back and placed the straps over his shoulder. "I'll carry it to the car don't worry."
Outside of Shelby's car after Shelby had strapped Beth into the car seat she turned around to Jake. "Thank you again. I don't even know you and your a good sitter."
"I've never been around kids this long but I managed with no help."
"No help?"
"Puck told everyone not to come over." Jake said. "Beth's a cool kid."
"You know... Sunday afternoons I have a few classes to teach at Lima University. From eleven until four-thirty. If it's not to much to handle do you want to watch her?"
Before Jake could say a word, Beth yelled, "Yes!"
"Alright then, I guess I'll watch her." Jake grinned.
...
Back inside the house Jake found Puck on the couch with a bowl of Doritos. "Hey."
"Dude.. your the best sitter ever." Puck said.
"Dude... your lucky I wasn't telling her that you were with other ladies instead of your special lady."
"Dude... good point." He said, grabbing Jake's guitar. "Jam sessions all night?"
"Bring it!" Jake said.
"Check your phone, dude, while I set up."
Jake pulled out his phone and looked at the message, opened it and saw the photo Puck took. He grinned as he went to settings and made it his background picture.
