Chapter Seven: The Beast Awakens
Manny was walking through the corridors going to check on Jack, when he found the Spirit, leaning on a wall looking at him, his eyes seemed to be dark blue and soulless, his hair was grey much like his skin.
"Jack?" Manny asked rushing over,
"Jamie… dan…ge….r" Jack spluttered before collapsing, Manny rushed forward and lifted him, placing him back on the stone plinth a little way away.
"Jamie will be fine I am sure of it" Manny whispered to Jack, knowing he was back in his coma.
He then turned and walked full pace, ready to speak with Anny.
As Manny walked into the room he scowled, there Anny stood, in full Battle Armour, Daemons standing beside her,
"Anny?" Manny asked looking over there.
"Manny, it is time for change, the balance has been tipped, now my Daemons will go and make sure that the balance is never restored!" Anny replied, drawing out a sword, "And…. I am truly sorry, but in the new world that will be forged by the Lord Trickster, I shall be his queen!"
"That wont happen Anny" A Voice called as from the Shadow's Pitch emerged, his dark sand axe in hand.
"Pitch?" Both Manny and Anny asked,
"That's right, and I wont let this Trickster rule the world, That's my job" Pitch sneered,
With that the Daemon's ran towards Pitch, he slashed his axe around and Daemon's started to fall before him as Anny began to walk towards Manny,
"I don't want to destroy you Anny, but if you continue, I shall" Manny told her,
"I'd like to see you try!" Anny hissed,
"Very Well, Goodbye Anny, Keeper of the Dark Moon" Manny told her raising his right hand, "Moonbeam!"
With that a thousand light began to flow from Manny, encircling Anny and in one blinding flash, she was gone, leaving only a pile of dust on the floor. Pitch cut down the last of the Daemon's and looked over at the pile of dust as it lay there.
"Remind me old friend, never to annoy you" Pitch told Manny
"I only kill when needed, plus you have a better fate upon you" Manny replied, "I want you to become a Guardian"
Pitch stood there for a minute before he burst out laughing, "You want me? Why?"
"Because you are the only one capable" Manny shrugged.
"What do you want me to do… to be? I am the Nightmare King!" Pitch called,
"And Nightmare's can be so much more than simply showing fear within a child!" Manny replied, "They can be a way to show the Child that there is no need to be afraid, and that a child can be Brave to take on all of life's issues"
"You know, One of your Guardian' once told me very similar" Pitch smirked,
"Will you Join Pitch, the Guardian's will need you" Manny told him,
"Oh very well, I'm not doing the whole children are sacred like gods act though" Pitch scowled,
"Will you, Pitch Black, vow to watch over the children of the world? To guard them with your life, their hopes, their wishes, and their dreams. For they are that we have, all that we are, and all that we will ever be." Manny asked,
"I will" Pitch nodded,
"Then I name you now, and Forever more, A Guardian!" North called walking into the Room, Bunny, Tooth and Sandy following behind,
"Oh goody, nearly the whole gang is here" Pitch sighed, "If you will excuse me, I need to change into something… less fear inducing"
With that Pitch slipped into the Shadow's and vanished, leaving the other Guardian's alone with Manny,
"Now we finally have some time alone, I would like to tell you how disappointed I am in all of you" Manny told them, "Except you Sandy"
"Why are you disappointed?" Tooth asked,
"Because of how you treated one Jackson Overland Frost when you found out details about him" Manny replied, "About his personal romantic presences"
"Why? What of zem?" North asked,
"You do not know?" Manny asked, leaning forward slightly.
"Know what?" Tooth asked,
"That Jack is more intreted in the male gender than female" a voice called and every head span to see Natura and another figure standing there, the other had a long flowing light blue cloak and robe along with a hood, he blue hair seemed to match this while her white eyes creeped them all out,
"April Showers?" Manny asked, "So Natura did manage to track you down then"
"I hardly see what I've done wrong" April replied,
"You abandoned a Brother-In-Bond" Reece called walking into the room,
"What is going on?" Bunny asked,
"Jack Frost, isn't on any Mission" Pitch said reappearing, everyone noticed how he now wore a suit of armor, "Winter fell four days ago, Jack lies in a coma, and if much more time passes, he will die"
"Is there anything we can do?" Tooth asked sadly.
"As spirits, no…. there is one… but he is lost… and we have no idea where, I tell you this not to scare you, but to warn you, Jack can no longer aid us, the last strength winter has is one snowflake" Natura told them,
"Who is this one who can help?" North asked,
"Jamie Bennett" Pitch, Natura and Manny all said at once,
The Spirits all looked around, some knowing of this child, others not.
"Jamie is in Burgess!" April told them, "I saw him a couple of days ago when doing my rounds"
"Last Night, Jamie was kidnapped by the Daemon's" Pitch replied, "I tried to help him, but the Daemon was too strong"
"SO" Reece called, "We're a Guardian and Potential Savourer of him down and there is no hope for victory"
"I bet that The Trickster will start to pick us off soon!" Father Time called,
"He has already done so, Anny fell to his influence, she was destroyed for her trouble" Pitch replied,
"Then what do we do?" April asked,
"We fight!" North boomed,
"I am leaving in ten minutes to fight the Trickster, anyone who wishes to come, may, those that do not, be warned, when free, the Trickster will come for you" Manny told them, walking out of the room, unaware that the Trickster was just breaking off the last lock, he smiled as he walked out of the cave that had held him,
"I AM FREE, AT LAST AND ALL WHO SHALL FACE ME WILL MEET MY WRATH!"
