Chapter Eight: Two Pure Feelings.
After an hour the entire balance was ready to face the Trickster, several other spirits joined in during the trip to the small wood where the battle would be taking place. Though it was the middle of winter, there was no snow or frost on the ground, a clear sign of how weak Winter truly was.
The spirits all walked slowly, then Manny stood,
"Quiet… stop!" Manny called and everyone stopped waiting for Manny to issue another command, "I hear something"
Everyone listened and they heard it to, slight sobbing…. They all looked among themselves and rushed towards it, they all arrived and found a small tree nearby to a small lake.
Tied to the tree was a lone figure, Several people already knew who they were,
"Jamie…." Tooth spoke rushed forward, trying to put her hand on Jamie's shouder, but it went right through,
"Tragic isn't it?" A Voice called as Loki walked forward, "When a child stops believing in you"
"Loki" Pitch scowled, "I'm glad your alive, that way I can kill you again!"
"You can try, Nightmare King, but think, if I die, so does little Jamie here, after all, I'm the only thing holding the Daemons that wish to rip him to shreds!" Loki smiled,
"Pitch, we can't risk Jamie's life" Natura told him,
"It's a trick!" Pitch scowled, "Like the fact that Loki isn't the ex-Trickster, he IS the trickster!"
"Close Nightmare King…" Loki smiled, "I Am one of two halfs of the Trickster, this body is his mortal form, I cannot die as he cannot, but I do not possess his powers, yet"
"But I do" A Voice called and a figure walked next to Loki, "I am Eris"
"So now you are both here, what shall you do?" Manny asked,
"We give our lives to fuse as one, creating… The Trickster!" Eris called and both turned to dust, before the two piles fused into one and then started to form a man from it.
The man seemed old and frail, he had long grey hair and a black suit, he looked around, smiling as he did so,
"So, this is it…." The Trickster smiled, "The one great Spirit warriors of the Moon, now look at them, clinging onto one hope. So frail…."
"Trickster, get back or we'll force you!" Pitch called, and the Trickster walked close and slammed a hand into Pitch, sending him crashing into a tree.
"Attack!" Manny ordered, every spirit leapt at the Trickster, unaware Jamie Bennett was now awake, looking around, only seeing the Trickster,
Manny was the first to fall he sent off a Moonbeam at The Trickster who intern grabbed the attack and sent it back at Manny, sending him reeling backwards.
Nutura and her season spirits ran forth, They slashed their blades around, The Trickster weaving out of the way of each attack, before drawing out his own sword, he blocked an attack from Reece, before hitting him on the head with the hilt, knocking him down, he slashed at Natura's back, a thin red line of blood made her collapse down, holding her back.
Holly and Rose both backed off, but with a Blast of Dark energy they fell, defeated.
North, Tooth, Bunny and Sandy all rushed forward, another blast of darkness sent them flying, each crashing down onto the ground, one-by-one the rest of the spirits were defeated, leaving them all laying on the floor, looking up at the Trickster.
"That was beyond pathetic" The Trickster sneered, "You know, young Bennett… they failed you!"
"Who failed me?" Jamie asked,
"Oh that's right, he doesn't Believe in you does he?" The Trickster asked turning back to the Spirits, "Before you die, young child I will do this… I grant you and your family the sight, the ability to see our kind without believing!"
In an instant a small cloud of darkness flowed into Jamie's eyes, he looked around and saw all of the Spirits laying there,
"Who are they?" Jamie asked, looking at them all,
"Well, you have: The Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, Sandman, Bogeyman, Santa, Man-In-Moon, Mother Nature, Summer, Autumn, Spring, Cupid among others" The Trickster told him, "and every one of them failed you, that you shall learn before you die!"
"Natura, I have a plan… but you won't like it!" Pitch told her and she looked over at him, "There is an old human song, I want you to use the last of Winters power, create the snowflake and aim at the child's nose"
Natura scowled, "If this does not work, Jack will die"
"And if it doesn't, we will have a full Balance, Jack would want us to give him up if it meant everyone else, he wouldn't want to die knowing there was a chance if he'd risked it all" Manny told her and she nodded, summoning the last fraction of Winters inner power, she created the snowflake, it flew forward, aiming at Jamie,
"Last ditch attempt?" The Trickster asked, reaching for the snowflake, in an instant Pitch leapt at him, he caught the Trickster off-guard and knocked him to the ground, Punching them multiple times.
The snowflake hit its mark and everyone waited with bated breath as Jamie looked confused then he looked up, "Jack…."
"What?" The Trickster asked, looking up, having finally thrown off Pitch, who now sported a bloody nose.
"I believe in Jack Frost!" Jamie smiled (A/N: Start Playing: Immediate Music: Believe)
In an instant the world started to chance, frost climbed up each piece of grass and along the tree's, the wind whipped around the clearing, the lake becoming frozen over, Jamie smiled as he looked around, the Spirits all smiled, some had never been happier to see Winter.
"No… NO!" The Trickster called, looking at the winter Wonderland forming around him. He drew forth his sword and Ran at Jamie, holding ready to kill him, the spirits all looked away, not wanting to see death, but instead they heard the clatter of sword on sword, and they looked up, standing there, crown atop his head, was Prince Jackson Overland Frost.
"You shall not touch him!" Jack scowled, walking forward,
"Maybe not yet, but his town his another matter, Daemon's go!" The Trickster called and Jack turned back to face him,
"First you had me furious, now you have me very mad" Jack scowled as Reece, Rose and Holly jumped up standing side-by-side,
"Ready for this?" Reece asked,
"Oh Yeah!" Holly smiled,
"No one gets to touch one of our quartet" Rose smirked,
"And if they do" Jack smiled,
"It becomes their last mistake" The Four said together, each glowing with the light of their season, they held a sword in their hand and a staff In the other.
"Trickster you have been Judged" Jack told him,
"You have been Tried" Holly added,
"And found lacking" Reece smiled,
"Now you face Justice!" Rose called and the four rushed at him, each attacking in turn with the others, Manny stood up looking at the four fighting,
"A perfect Balance, completely in-sync with one another… remarkable!" Manny smiled, watching the four attacking the Trickster.
After ten minutes of perfect fighting, the four seasons spirits jumped back as one, summoning the four winds they threw them at the Trickster, he was knocked back for long enough for the Four of them to summon lighting and take aim,
"We will lock you away!" Rose called,
"Forever!" Holly smiled,
They each aimed at one arm and leg, holding a limb each, they raised him into the air, and threw him into a hole Bunny had just created, they followed him down and stood there, looking at the Trickster, the four of them focused their powers, creating a long chain and then they chained him to a wall, they looked over at the Trickster who looked up at him,
"Now you are trapped, we shall never weaken again!" Reece called, walking out of the hall, the massive door slammed shut behind the four spirits, the many locks all activating.
"I'm going for Jamie" Jack told them all and they nodded,
"We'll help the Balance try and save Burgess, get that kid to safety, he's pretty special" Reece told Jack, who scowled,
Jack leaned in close, and whispered, "Hands' off he's mine…."
"Fine" Reece shrugged, "More hotties for me!"
With that the four spirits flew off, towards Burgess, Jack had only one thought in his mind,
Jamie.
I'll end there….
I Know the Trickster could have had a better part to play, but Jack and the Balance just needed to deal with him now.
