A/N:Lacie is going to be irritating since she's pregnant...we all know how aggravating pregnant women can be.
Chapter 4 Pregnancy is a pain in the...stomach
Lacie awoke early in the morning. Her babies were kicking again. "Alice, you're kicking awfully hard," She said, chuckling at the baby's intense rage.
The other one had calmed. 'Looks like Alice will be the hotheaded one.'
She sighed as she continued walking. "Well, I wonder where Jack is."
Sure enough, she saw her "brother" walk out, sighing dramatically. Yup, definitely Jack.
"Jack, what's up?"
He turned to face her with a not-at-all-unlike gloomy Oswald face. "Lottie found out."
"Did she now?" Lacie said.
"She's really upset. She keeps on hitting on my body! I don't want to be tired old Glen, I want to be me!" Jack moaned, pouting.
Lacie sighed. "That's all right. You're with me, remember?"
"But Revis-"
"Got me pregnant? Yep. So that means we can't go beyond first base. I'm sorry." She said before smirking.
Jack's face fell. "WHY?"
Lacie sighed. "Wanna say hello to my girls again?"
Jack placed his hand against her stomach again and suddenly a foot hit him. "Ow, that hurt!"
"That must've been Alice, then."
"I wonder if we'll get along..." He muttered to himself.
A light kick hit him.
"That was probably Alyss," She said.
Jack said, "Can I speak to them?"
"Sure." Lacie agreed.
"Hey, this is Jack Vessalius. I'm Lacie's friend. Can we be friends, too?"
Two pairs of feet kicked him this time, though the first pair hesitated a bit and kicked him lightly. The second kicked him hard.
"OW! I think they hate me!" He moaned.
Lacie chuckled. "Alice, do you not like Jack?"
She laughed again. "I think that's a yes."
"How can she hate me before she's even born, Lacie? That doesn't make any sense," Jack said in annoyance.
"It does to me," Lacie chirped in triumph, "Mother's intuition!"
"Whatever," Jack said in annoyance, turning away from his crush with a slight blush on his cheeks. He really hated it when Lacie pulled things like that on him.
"So, Jack, I'm really hungry. Do you think you could take me somewhere to get something to eat?" Lacie said cheerfully. "You'll be paying, of course."
"...Um, but it won't be a date, and your scary-looking servants will be following us," Jack said, pointing to some cloaked, hooded figures who were standing menacingly behind them...wait, what?
"...I heard that, you know," One of them mumbled, "It's not like we're that scary, are we?"
Lacie laughed. "Of course not, Doug. Just don't show him your face-it'll most likely scare him into obedience."
Jack jumped slightly. "So...because I look like Oswald they're going to assume I'm your brother?"
"That's right..." Lacie said, "Now come on, Onii-sama, let's go eat. Perhaps we can get takeout!"
"What? Why do I have to pay for you?" Jack said.
"Jack, aren't you supposed to be a gentleman? If so, then that means you'll be paying me something."
Jack gulped. He wasn't too sure about all this.
The rabbit doll cowered in his tower among all the other stuffed animals as that blond man from before was looking through them. He looked quite angry about something.
"Lacie, where are you? Dammit, did she go run off again?" He cried.
'Wait, that's the brother. The Abyss tells me that's the girl's brother...crow-face?' The rabbit thought.
"...Have you seen her, Revis?" He called to the white-haired man, who could only be wearing a face known as a troll face.
"...Hmm, perhaps I have, perhaps I haven't. You seem upset."
"WHY WOULDN'T I BE, DAMMIT? NOT ONLY AM I IN JACK'S BODY, I COULDN'T EVEN GET INTO MY DAMNED HOUSE, I WAS ATTACKED BY MY OWN SERVANT, FORCED TO HANG OUT WITH A CREEPY WOMAN WHO ACTUALLY WANTS TO DECAPITATE ME, AND NOT ONLY THAT, MY OWN SISTER'S PREGNANT! I MUST BE COMPLETELY HAPPY, REVIS!" Oswald cried.
"Whew, that's loud. It's not often you burst like this. Normally, you just take the pain," Revis snarked. Oswald just glared at him. "You know, you just look cute when you glower at me like that."
"Are you hitting on me?" Oswald said, blushing.
"Hmm...perhaps I am, perhaps I'm not-"
"Just knock it off already and tell me where she is!"
"She went out with Jack for a bit. Don't worry if they kiss...well, it'd be quite amusing, wouldn't you say?"
"You arrogant, annoying little!" Oswald cursed, saying some nasty words that shall not be repeated here.
'What do those words mean?' The little rabbit asked himself, wondering if perhaps he should repeat them, too. They certainly sounded funny, especially the word that sounded like it was talking about chucking someone out of a window.
"...What do those words mean?" The rabbit voiced, knowing the human couldn't hear him, anyway. The last time had been purely a coincidence...purely a goddamned coincidence.
"Y-You, you talked again!" Oswald stammered, as though this was the most amazing thing in the world.
"...So?" The rabbit voiced, raising one stuffed eyebrow. "...It ain't the oddest thing I seen in the Abyss."
Oswald frowned. "...Ain't is not a word. You mean I have seen things. If you want to learn to talk like a human, you must be grammatically correct."
"...Wait, you've seen the things I seen? That does not make any sense." The rabbit protested.
"...No, what I mean is you say I have seen things. You never use seen by itself. Ain't is not a word and you mean isn't. Make sense now?"
"...I dunno. I seen-er, I have seen the girl talking like that, so I thought it was how all non-stuffed creatures talked." The rabbit said, still mixing up the pronunciations of things.
"Non-stuffed? That's your name for us?" Oswald said in skepticism. "I must look pretty stupid talking to a stuffed rabbit."
"...You hear me? You must be not human, then. No one usually hears me when I speak." The rabbit said sadly.
"Good thing, too," Oswald said.
"Hey, I heard that!" The rabbit cried.
Meanwhile, while Jack and Lacie were out eating food, Jack just stared in disbelief at all the bowls of food that Lacie had eaten and she still kept on eating and eating like there was no tomorrow.
"Lacie...are you done yet?" He asked the red-eyed girl, who blinked.
"Almost...I just need to eat a little bit more." She said before smiling.
Jack almost fell over at that point.
"Oswald, is your sister...you know...?" One of the Baskervilles said hesitantly.
"No, she's definitely not pregnant!" Jack said. He put his hand over his mouth at that point.
The Baskervilles all sighed.
"That explains it," Said one.
"I knew she was acting odd," Said another, "Have a good delivery!"
Lacie glared at them.
