13.33pm

Buffy's exit from the house had affected the group in different ways. For her friend's it was a heart breaking moment, for Faith however, it was a relief. An hour had passed since the news, but the housemates were still trying to adjust to it.

Willow and Xander sat together in the bathroom, giving each other comfort.

"I can't believe she's been kicked out" Willow sobbed.

She had tried to keep her emotions under control, but recent events had taken their toll. Xander grabbed her hand and gave it a gentle, comforting squeeze'

"I know Will" He sighed "but you know Buffy, she wouldn't want us crying over this, she would want us to pick ourselves up and go on to win this thing"

Willow glanced at Xander and smiled, He had always been able to cheer her up when she felt low, now was no exception.

"Yeah she would" she said, now feeling slightly more optimistic "You know, I bet she is going to be partying her ass off tonight" she giggled. Xander chuckled.

"Ha! I know, I think she's actually the lucky one"

They began to laugh more; an uncontrollable laughter had now taken over them, relieving the stress that had built up over the past week.

The door to the bathroom suddenly flung open and Tara ran in clearly panicked. Tara had been sitting on her bed and had mistaken the laughter for crying. She stared at the two for a moment; clearly confused as to what was going on, but when she looked into Willows eyes she understood. She smiled to herself and left the room.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen.

Faith and Andrew occupied the stools around the kitchen counter. They sat in silence for a little while. Having nothing in common, they found it difficult to talk to each other, the fact that Andrew was also terrified of Faith did not help the matter.

"So emmm..." Andrew said, trying desperately to be brave "I bet you're happy that Buffy is gone" He shuffled in his seat nervously.

Faith stared into her cup of coffee for a moment, thinking about everything that had happened.

"You know what, I'm not. I mean, I thought I would be, at first I was buzzed to hear that B had gone, but thinking about it now, I didn't want it to happen like this" she paused for a moment and frowned "It shouldn't have happened like this"

Andrew looked at her quizzically. He took a quick sip of his hot chocolate, which by now had gone cold and then placed it back on the counter.

"What do you mean?" He asked

"Look, I know me and B had problems" She laughed slightly "Have problems, but we both let our emotions get the best of us. B's a good girl and even though we don't have much in common, I know she didn't mean what she did and I know she probably regrets it"

Andrew stayed silent. He was shocked to see this side of Faith. He had never seen her sensitive side before and began to feel ashamed for judging her so quickly.

"At least when all of this is over, you and Buffy could have a heart to heart, maybe you will finally be able to put everything behind you"

Faith smiled at Andrews words. She wasn't sure if she and Buffy could ever set things straight, but Andrews's words had touched her and at that moment, she was grateful he was around.

20.05pm

The remaining housemates had all gathered together at the seating area. After the events earlier in the day, a quiet peace had taken over the house and everyone was relieved. Willow and Tara sat together, whispering silly things, making each other giggle. Xander and Oz were having a deep discussion about what was the best food in the world. The other housemates, Anya, Faith, Andrew and Spike were sharing stories about their dark pasts.

There was a sudden bleep over the speaker

This is big brother, Will spike come to the Diary room

Spike stood up and approached the diary room. He waited for the door to unlock before entering. He walked to the big red chair in the middle of the room and sat down. There was a moment of silence.

Hello spike

"Hey"

How are you?

"I've been better"

What do you mean?

"You know what I'm on about, you, kicking Buffy out"

She broke the rules

"Bollocks"

There was another brief silence.

Have you noticed a change since Buffy has left?

"Yeah, I have. The house is bloody dull now. Everyone has been quiet, whispering to each other or just plain avoiding each other"

Do you think there is stability in the group now?

Spike chuckled slightly "For now yeah, but not for long"

What do you mean?

"You know the saying" Spike grinned deviously "The calm before the storm. It will only take one slight push and BANG! All hell will break loose!"

NEXT TIME…
