Dean shoved his foot down on the impala's pedal and it sped off faster than the speed of light. Meg was mumbling about something in the backseat and Sam was looking out the window, "I don't know where you think you'll find him Dean. If he became an angel again, maybe he want some time to himself." he said.
Dean swerved the car, pulling it out of the parking lot of the hotel, "No. He wouldn't just leave without saying anything. He is either in trouble or he is causing trouble. We need to find him."
"What if Metatron got him?" Meg asked in barely a whisper. The brothers turned synchronically, "What?"
Meg sighed, "Say it was a trap for him. Maybe he knew he'd take the grace and captured him to use him or something."
Dean nodded, "Yah, but where would he take him? Not that old castle place again, it'd be to obvious."
"Where the hell are you, Castiel..." Sam whispered as his eyes darted from tree to tree as the blurry image of a forest faded from his gaze from outside the window.
Castiel paced around heavens gate. He hadn't imagined it as actually being a gate. He was on flat land that was covered in grass and beyond him stood a silver gate locked, but see through. Cas could see the flowers and bushes and endless forests that heaven contained. Metatron was glaring at him, "Any minute now if you'd please."
Cas' gaze didn't shift as he approached the gate. He and Metatron started chanting the two-angel spell that was supposed to open the gate. Cas opened his eyes and made sure Metatron's eyes were closed as he took out an angel blade s ilently. He kept chanting until he pounced ontop of Metatron and held the angel blade to his throat. Metatron laughed, "Are you kidding me? If you kill me, or even injure me with that, we'll both fall to Earth and burn, most likely die. Also, heaven might never be opened again."
"Exactly." Cas whispered in his ear. He stabbed Metatron straight through the chest. Cas felt victory at seeing the evil angels surprised face when he did so. But the inevitable part came. The two angels were now falling faster and faster. Castiel suddenly felt his wings appear and start to burn. He screamed but no one could here him. He dropped Metatron's limp body which turned to ashes. He watched as his wings were ripped from his back and also turned into the same type of ash. Grey, lifeless, and dull. Suddenly after what seemed like hours of never ending pressure, all he felt was cool water. He sunk underwater in one of the major oceans. Atlantic, Pacific...he wasn't sure. He closed his eyes and let himself sink to the shallow bottom.
Dean, Sam, and Meg set themselves up in a booth at a cafe nearby. "Okay," Dean started, "We need to narrow down where Metatron or Cas would go."
"What about that bar...in California? Metatron went there a lot according to Cas." Sam said. Dean shrugged, "California is pretty far away at the moment but we can try."
"What do you think Meg?" Sam asked. The demon was watching the TV in the cafe intently . "Hey we're trying to work a case here." Dean retorted. Meg pointed to the screen without straying her gaze. The brothers watched as a news reporter video taped a burning meteor falling from the sky. But it wasn't just a meteor it was...
"Cas." Sam and Dean said in unison. Meg pointed at the bottom of the screen, "It's only 5 miles down the road, we should go."
They all watched as the meteor crashed into the water. "Tip the waiter." Dean said darkly to Sam as he made his way outside.
When they all reached the car, none of them said a word on the road or otherwise. Dean pulled into a parking lot right next to Cripple Beach which was where the meteor landed. Police were standing all around telling people to back off. Sam and Dean showed them their badges and took Meg inside along with them. Dean walked up to one of the security men, "Where exactly did the meteor land?"
The man pointed to the side of the beach, "There, we also found a man washed up on shore. The poor guy, imagine being in an oceon when a meteor hits there."
Dean chuckled and glanced at the mans name tag, "Haha, yah thanks Stevie."
The three made their way over to where the meteor hit and there he was. Cas was sitting on the back of an ambulance with a towel around him. His face lit up when he saw the Winchester, "Sam, Dean."
Sam hugged him, "Thank god you're okay."
Dean glared at him, "I swear, if you keep doing things like this I will personally stab you in the face." Meg hopped up on the truck next to him and buried her face in his shoulder. Dean couldn't help but smile, "But I'm glad you're alright."
Cas grinned, "I killed him."
"Killed who?" Sam asked with a sudden worried expression. "Metatron." he answered.
Dean raised his eyebrows, "Really? So all are problems are-"
"Gone." Meg finished with a sigh of relief.
Dean laughed, "It's finally over. This was the last straw"
Cas nodded, "Yes it was."
