Hey, sorry for the short chapter! The next one will be longer-pinky promise! Thank you Georgiahorse (sorry if I got it wrong) for your review and everyone else! I'm going to be putting up some quotes in the beginning of the chapters that I thought were good for CCA. Thanks! All rights to Jessica Burkhart.

Love,

Ask me to show you poetry in motion, and I will show you a horse.

When I opened the door to my room I immediately saw June. She was seated on the couch with her phone in her hands. On the TV was Web of Lies, one of my favorite shows. She looked up and smiled when I slipped out of my boots. I perched on the coffee table and twirled my charm bracelet around my wrist. My old boyfriend had given it to me back at home, but we had had a messy break up. Since then, I had been shy around boys. Now, a small shamrock and horse were what was on my bracelet instead of the little half heart that would connect by a magnetic force to Chase's bracelet.

"Are you okay? You seemed kind of…off today," I asked gently. June looked up at me and I could tell she was about to tell me something personal.

"Yeah. I actually just found out that she was trying to get my boyfriend to cheat on me." I felt my eyes widen. "Don't worry. Tobiah didn't cheat and he texted me as soon as she kissed him." June wiped an angry tear off of her cheek. "Anyways, she was walking around saying that she kissed my boyfriend today and I was tired of it. She didn't think that he would tell me, but he's too sweet to do that." I smiled at June.

"He sounds like a good guy. I'm happy for you, June." I stood up and walked into my bathroom. I undressed and showered quickly, enjoying the water. I stepped out and wrapped myself in a huge bluish gray towel and sighed. The steam soothed my skin and I looked in the mirror. Through the cloud of steam, I saw my pink skin. Oops. Must have had the water on too high.

I walked to my room with my hair up in a towel and opened my wardrobe. I decided on some black leggings and a button down denim shirt. I tucked it in and blow dried my hair so that it was only slightly damp. Then, I got to work on my makeup. I applied some foundation mixed with sunblock with SPF 30 to my ivory skin. Next, I drew on some eyeliner around my greenish blue eyes and carefully applied mascara. I ignored eye shadow and smoothed on some peachy lip gloss with a good shine.

"So when do you meet with Utz?" June asked when I opened a can of Cherry Coke Zero. I checked the time on my clock and sighed.

"Now," I groaned. I pushed myself off the counter and dragged my feet across the wooden floors to the closet. I pulled on some brown combat boots and laced them up slowly, not wanting to go out into the heat. Rolling up my sleeves, I mock saluted to June and pulled open the doors.

Ms. Utz immediately scared me as soon as I saw her. She had large square teeth that were the same pale yellow as my room. Her bun was so tight that her eyes were just on the verge of being slits. She was huge, standing about two feet taller than me. I knew I was petite, but I felt like a munchkin compared to this woman.

"Ah, Aiden! Come in, come in," she bellowed. My ears were still ringing as I entered her office and sat in a stiff chair. I was surprised that she could fit in the tiny space and she bumped her desk, knocking over a tin of pencils with rubbed down erasers.

"Here's your sheet of extracurricular activities. Since you ride, that is one of them. You can pick two more, but you also have the opportunity of skipping ninth period since you're in highschool, now." She pushed a light green sheet in front of me. I skimmed down the list and circled an art class and handed it back to her.

"I'll skip ninth period," I said. She nodded and signed the bottom of the sheet.

"Alright. Enjoy your time at Canterwood," she boomed, shaking my hand so roughly I was surprised she didn't rip my arm off.

I practically ran out of her office and stopped at the Sweet Shoppe. I seriously needed some sugar right now. I got in line and ordered an iced mocha for me and a blue raspberry slushy for June.

"Hello," I called when I got back to our room. June looked up from Web of Lies and grinned when she saw what I was carrying.

"Mmm, thanks!" We sipped our cool drinks and I relaxed into my seat. I could go pick up my books later today. I focused on the slightly depressing TV show and smiled. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad here. But that was a big maybe.
