a day in the limelight for Sakaki, though how much of one is up for debate, for you lucky star fans you may love me or hate me after you read this chapter
CHAPTER 14
Sakaki took a trip to a Republic space station and just hung out there wandering around the station and checking out the shops, she briefly got distracted
by some baby animals before continuing on her way. "um excuse Mrs. Jedi" a little voice behind her said, a little girl was standing right behind her "what is
it?" asked Sakaki politely and sweetly "I can't find my mom" the little girl said Sakaki just smiled sweetly and told her not to worry, it wasn't hard to find
the little girl's mother the poor little thing was in the right place but was looking in the wrong place. "Thank you mam" the girl's mother said kindly
"welcome" Sakaki replied with a smile, well after the trip to the space station Sakaki received a holo-call from Satele Shan "yes master Satele" Sakaki said
respectfully as she answered her holo-communicator "I've got a solo assignment for you if you're interested" Satele informed her calmly and kindly, Sakaki
was a bit surprised because she hasn't done a solo assignment in a long time, in fact she doesn't even the last she had to do something by herself, "of
course" Sakaki told Satele with a smile her tone was relatively stoic but with a slight hint of joy. While Satele informed Sakaki of what her assignment was
and where it was taking place, a figure, which was the well hidden Darth Tyrannous, watched and listened in from the shadows "could she….?" Tyrannous
began to ask in his head, this wasn't his first time sneaking onto/into a Republic aligned location but then again he didn't really have a hard time doing so
either at all, "ok understood" Sakaki said to Satele as their conversation ended, just as she was about to head to her ship Tyrannous managed to very
quickly whip out a knife and clip a piece of her hair and then get away "what the…?" Sakaki asked but she had no idea what just happened all she felt was
a quick breeze and then nothing, she looked around and all though there were a lot of people, aliens included, she couldn't see anything suspicious so she
went on her way. Tyrannous went back to Imperial space to get a DNA test on Sakaki's hair, the reason being she looks eerily familiar to him, "I hope I can
get some results from this, and I wonder when the Republic will take notice to me?" he thought to himself no surprise really, considering he has entered
and exited the Republic's territory so many times it was not funny although he never bothered to get any data from entering their territory, at least none
he can remember, he still feels as though he should have been caught by now. Back onto Sakaki her mission took her back to the prisoner planet Belsavis
not that she was pleased with being back she remembered the last time she was here. Once she landed she met up with an old friend "oh hey Reggie"
Sakaki greeted him as he walked on in "long time no see Sakaki" sergeant Reggie said with a smile "so, I'm pretty sure you were already informed but the
Jedi council sent me here on a mission" Sakaki said "of course, just follow me" Reggie said with a chuckle it didn't take long for them to get to the location
for Sakaki to get more information on her mission. "Ah so you must be the Jedi the counsel sent" a man said he was a fat middle aged man but he looked
like he knew what he was doing "indeed I am" Sakaki said with an honest smile the man just stared at Sakaki for a minute or two then said with a chuckle
"man, if my nephew wasn't Jedi I would try to introduce you to him", "your nephew?" asked Sakaki she was not expecting to hear that "Hahaha, yeah my
nephew is a Jedi he is only seventeen but he is already at the rank of knight, not bad for someone who joined the order at eight" the man with a big old
smile, at first Sakaki wondered why the order didn't send this man's nephew on this assignment but quickly remembered that the Jedi order doesn't allow
contact with family due to their belief that attachments lead to the dark side, "so what's your name?" asked Sakaki calmly but politely "oh so sorry, where
are my manners? The name Kavarn Skynobi" the man said introducing himself, "pleasure to meet you I am Sakaki….a Jedi padawan" Sakaki said
introducing herself. "Padawan, huh? That's ok it doesn't matter to me I'm sure the Jedi sent you because of your skill" Kavarn said in a friendly manner
Sakaki just smiled and asked "so what's problem?", "you're going to love this" Kavarn said sarcastically "this can't be good" Sakaki thought to herself
catching his sarcasm "but we have a rakghoul problem here….." Kavarn began, Sakaki face remained in a calm, stoic position but on the inside she wanted
to pull her hair out she was already sick of rakghouls, not that anyone would blame if she were to say it out loud "nothing too serious thankfully, but they
will turn into a problem if they aren't not stopped soon." Kavarn continued "I see something tells me there is more to this story than meets the eye" Sakaki
said Kavarn frowned and nodded "I'm afraid so mam, I have no doubt in my mind we could've taken care of the problem already but the rakghoul just keep
on appearing and disappearing so quickly that we haven't been able to keep up" Kavarn said none too happy about it either "if it is that bad I might need
some assistance" Sakaki said politely she doubt she could find them herself if it was really this bad "I understand, I was going to send seargent Reggie here
with but if you need some help from the Jedi order I be happy to let you borrow my holo-terminal here" Kavarn said "I'll take Reggie's help if that's ok, but
forgive for saying so, but I would still like to call upon my fellow Jedi" Sakaki said sincerely "I understand its ok with me" Kavarn said with a smirk "yeah
I've been looking for some action for a while now so I'm down with that" Reggie said sounding very eager but professional. It didn't take long for a member
of the order to answer the call, with Jedi master Satele Shan being the one who answered "that was fast Sakaki, I wasn't expecting you too call so soon did
they manage the mission already?" asked Satele "no, well you see….." Sakaki said as she informed Satele of what was going on "so can you send someone
to help me? Forgive me for saying so but I am not sure if Reggie and I can find the problem by ourselves" Sakaki said asking for help "trust me I don't
blame you for saying that" Reggie whispered with a friendly smile "certainly, we have one Jedi available" Satele answered Sakaki "really? Thanks" Sakaki
said with a weak smile, she didn't want to ask for help but felt she needed to if she was to find out where these rakghouls where hiding out "there's no
shame in asking for help, I won't be able to send your friends their all busy on an assignment on Nar Shadaa, but I do believe you'll work well with the Jedi
we will be sending and I know Kavarn will laugh when he sees who we are sending." Satele said dutifully but slight chuckle "oh really who is that?" asked
Kavarn sounding surprised "you'll see" Satele said with a smirk "before you hang up, may I ask what are is the assignment their doing there?" asked
Sakaki concerned for her friends "unfortunately it involves more rakghouls" Satele said quickly with a disappointed look, even she was already sick with all
these rakghouls "I see….well I'll contact you when my assignment is done" Sakaki said as she and Satele hung up "I'm sure they'll be all right how bad can
it be?" Reggie said trying to give Sakaki confidence "yeah I guess you're right, there is no way it can get any worse" Sakaki said with a smile.
Meanwhile on Nar Shadaa, "AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH, HOW MANY OF THESE THINGS ARE THERE?!" Yomi screamed at the top of her lungs as about half
dozen rakghouls ganged up on her "tell me about it!" Kaorin shrieked "it has too end soon" Yukari whined as a pack of twenty rakghouls started clawing
at her.
Back at Belsavis, the shuttle carrying Jedi the council had sent just arrived out from the shuttle a young, tall man walked out dressed in heavy dark brown
robes, he was taller than Sakaki by at least a foot and had a stoic look on his face he was both lean and yet heavily built "greetings" the Jedi said politely,
his tone was relatively stoic but he sounded like a nice guy, as he exited his shuttle Kavarn laughed as he saw the man "Jason it's good to see you again"
Kavarn said a tear of happiness rolled down his cheek "good to see you to uncle" Jason said Sakaki had a look of surprise on her face "this is his nephew
not much of a strong family resemblance" Sakaki thought to herself "he takes after my brother in law" Kavarn said "I didn't say anything" Sakaki said
quickly "I know but that's everyone thinks when they see him and know me" Kavarn said with a big old smile. Jason walked over to Sakaki and got a good
look at her then he smiled and said "can't wait to see you in action" his tone was very polite and complimentive but it almost sounded like there was a bit
of flirt to it. "So I assume it is safe to say that the Jedi council has already informed you of what's going on?" asked Kavarn, Jason just smiled and nodded
"kind of hard not to know when your master literally writes down everything then crams it at into your head" Jason answered "I take it whoever your
mentor is, is very strict" Reggie asked "yeah but he is a good man and I am proud to be his apprentice" Jason answered with a smile "yeah I've heard
about your master his name Yodal isn't it?" asked Kavarn "indeed" Jason answered, Yodal was a short green alien with big elf ears, "so shall we get
moving?" Reggie asked he was all too determined to get something done "sure whenever you ready" Sakaki said "then let's move out" Jason said "good
luck to you three" Kavarn said as the three headed to their destination.
In the Imperial fleet, Malacard called Kaizer to his side, "yes what is it?" Kaizer asked as he entered Malacard's chambers but to his surprise Malacard was
nowhere to be seen "what the?..." Kaizer began to ask but before he could do anything his entire body started to hurt, and by hurt I mean it felt as
though his flesh was melting off his bones, he passed out from the pain as Malacard walked up to him the dreaded Sith lord let out a sickening chuckle then
proceeded to put Kaizer's unconscious body on a cold metal table, he put wires on the young Sith's head and said with sadistic glee "I am going to make
sure you never betray me, and even if you do…well you know what you'll find out" after Malacard finished his sentence he let out a loud evil laugh then
pulled a switch Kaizer woke back up immediately but quickly passed out again from the pain a red aura surrounded Malacard's hands as he put them on
both sides of Kaizer's head then everything on the ship turned black, Kaizer woke up a few hours later in his room his head was throbbing "wh-what
happened?" Kaizer asked he looked around for a bit before going outside his room he came across Malacard and asked "uh were you wanting me?" asked
Kaizer as he put his hand on his aching head "no you may go about your business" Malacard answered he then walked off letting out a low and surprisingly
subtle chuckle "ok…..what in space happened?" Kaizer asked himself he remembered the intense pain he felt when he entered Malacard's dorm but nothing
else after that "what did he do to me?" asked Kaizer sounding a little scared.
Meanwhile on some random Imperial space station, "it's going to be a while before we can get the DNA test results back, sir" a droid informed Tyrannous
"ah whatever contact me via holo when they are done I ain't staying around here" the Sith lord informed the droid as he stormed out of the facility "yes sir"
the droid tried to say to him but he was already gone on his way out of the space station he overheard some soldiers talking about a pair of Jedi on
Belsavis looking for rakghouls "this I got to see" Tyrannous thought to himself as he entered his ship he then headed off to Belsavis, upon landing he was
greeted by a rancor "oh you've got to be kidding me" he said to himself he wasn't scared just annoyed, he could have taken on the rancor but instead he
pushed a button on his wrist and a missile shot right out of his ship at the rancor and killed it instantly "ok then onward" Tyrannous said to himself after
some travel he came across a group of space pirates "how unusual" he said sarcastically he tried to ignore them but they spotted him and started shooting
at him luckily their aim was horrible, to the point that Tyrannous was able to slowly and calmly walk behind a tree five feet away from him he then whipped
out his own blaster and just wiped them out without breaking so much as a sweat.
As for Sakaki and her small group they made it to the location were the rakghoul had been spotted at, or at least spotted at the most, "huh somehow I
thought that trip would be uglier" Reggie said as he got off the speeder followed by Sakaki and Jason no one said a word for about a minute or two "this
seems too easy" Jason said he had been on enough assignments to know when things are this calm there is a good chance it will become chaotic, and
unfortunately he was right a small pack of rakghouls jumped out from behind some rocks and attacked…..they lasted at most five minutes with Reggie,
quite surprisingly, taking out most of the pack "wow that was pretty impressive" Sakaki and Jason said at the same time "and I am mildly weirded out you
two said that exact same thing at the same time" Reggie said with a surprised look on his face Sakaki and Jason just turned to face each other and blushed
"but yeah I've received a LOT of target practice" Reggie continued "oh that's neat" Sakaki said "yeah I haven't been on the field at all during my time with
the Republic military and I got to say I am glad to finally just get out and do something" Reggie said with a big old smile "I bet" Jason said in a calm, stoic
but polite manner "speaking of which I wonder how my friends are doing on Nar Shadaa?" asked herself in her head. Yeah back on Nar Shadaa the group
wound up having to take a break from the rakghouls to save Kaorin's life after she was kidnapped by a Sith for the second time that week "oh come on now
this couldn't get any worse" Kagura said with a sigh yeah she shouldn't of said that because they got ambushed by a pack of rakghouls and a group of
Imperial troops "shoot" Osaka said in fact that was all she could say before they wound up having to fight for their lives. Now back to Belsavis, Tyrannous
was watching as Sakaki's small group defeat the previously mentioned rakghoul pack "not bad, not bad at all" Tyrannous thought to himself as he reviewed
their performance "all right let's see if we can't find out where their coming from" Reggie said as he, Sakaki, and Jason walked in the direction the pack
came from and much to Reggie's amusement they were able to find out where the rakghoul were coming from, but it helped that there was an incompetent
Imperial trooper nearby bragging about how the Republic will never find out where the rakghoul were coming from made all the worse for him that he
blurted out the exact location "how did that guy get into the Imperial military?!" Tyrannous asked in his head as he followed Sakaki's small group, it didn't
take Sakaki and her group long to reach the rakghoul's location which was in a cave "this is going to be easy" Reggie said with a smirk "yep" Jason said
"yeah, and I wonder how my friends are doing?" Sakaki asked concerned for her friend's safety. Back on Nar Shadaa, the group was about ready to kill
someone "we just deactivated the last rakghoul bomb and Kaorin got herself abducted for the third time!" Yomi growled "At least Chihiro is with her this
time" Kagura said "how is that a good thing we are going to have to save her to!" Yomi shouted, "I don't know" Kagura whined "well I'm afraid we are
going to have to save them without Yukari" Said Nyamo "why?" asked Chiyo exhaustion in her face "because she ran into a bar that had a sell on her
favorite drinks" Nyamo answered sounding quite annoyed "oh brother…" Yomi said. Back to Sakaki on Belsavis, she and her group entered the cave exactly
five seconds after entering the got ambushed by eight Imperial soldiers they went down easily. The following group consisted of twenty or so rakghouls
fortunately they were fighting Imperial soldiers got their numbers diminished by a lot, after dealing with that group Reggie asked "why are there Imperials
here?", "most likely there the ones behind the rakghouls" Jason answered "yeah that makes sense, and they most likely couldn't control the rakghouls so
yeah that explains a lot" Reggie said "wait can they control them?" asked Sakaki "I doubt it" Reggie answered the small group continued fighting hoards of
rakghouls a couple of Imperial soldiers and a Sith wielding a vibrosword "so far their doing just fine" Tyrannous thought to himself as he continued
following the group, the reason being because Sakaki stirred something from inside him memories he hadn't thought of in a long time, but unfortunately a
minor cave in slowed him down "oh great" Tyrannous thought to himself, Sakaki and her group thought nothing of it because the rubble wasn't severe
enough to become a concern a few feet later Sakaki and Jason paused "do you feel that?" asked Sakaki sounding a little nervous "yeah I wish I didn't
though" Jason said he was hiding his fear much better than Sakaki but there was a very subtle amount of fear in his voice "what is it?" asked Reggie "I
don't know we feel a dark presence I haven't felt anything like it before" Jason said "you wouldn't suppose its…you-know-who would you?" Sakaki asked
trying not to jinx anything "who Malacard…oh why do I got the feeling I shouldn't of said that?" Reggie asked "not going to answer but hopefully it's not
him coming here" Jason said.
Unfortunately it was Malacard who wanted to see how his "secret" project was going on Belsavis, even Tyrannous felt his presence "oh I hope these guys
leave soon I'd hate to see them fight him" Tyrannous said to himself he stoic composure briefly breaking into visible fear. Sakaki and her group managed to
reach their location and much to their shock saw rakghouls being cloned, security was surprisingly low and the idiotic trooper who unwittingly revealed the
places location was being eaten by a small pack of rakghoul shutting down the lab was easy, taking care of the remaining rakghoul was difficult but not
exactly hard either, the truly hard part would be coming just as the group was about ready to leave as the group began to walk through the entrance they
came from they were confronted by a big dressed in all black figure, Sakaki and Jason immediately recognized him "DARTH MALACARD!" Sakaki said
sternly activating her lightsaber Jason also activated his silver bladed lightsaber "down you go!" Reggie said as he opened fire on the Sith lord Malacard just
blocked each blaster bolt with either his hand or lightsaber then proceeded to force push Reggie all the while laughing like a mad man "too easy, so from
what I'm see you fools just managed to shut down my little lab here" Malacard said menacingly "indeed" Sakaki said Malacard just chuckled "then let me
see just how skilled you fools are" Malacard said calmly and coldly "WITH PLEASURE!" Sakaki said breaking out of her normal calm stoic nature she then
unleashed a barraged of lightsaber strikes Malacard just evaded them all without breaking a sweat "is that all you got?" Malacard asked "allow me!" Jason
said as he attacked Malacard with a powerful force push attack Malacard smacked into a wall hard but got right back up and dusted himself "that tickles"
Malacard said, Reggie then unleashed another barraged of blaster bolts this time however Malacard dodged the bolts then proceeded to remove Reggie's
blasters he then crushed them in his grip "my turn" Malacard said as he sliced off Reggie's hands then he unleashed a blast of force lightning so powerful
that it knocked Reggie across the room and into a wall, it didn't kill him fortunately but it knocked him out "unbelievable" Sakaki said stunned at Malacard's
skill and power Darth Tyrannous just watched from the shadows in horror "if you are who I think you are then I won't let you suffer" Tyrannous said as he
watched Sakaki lock blades with Malacard, Tyrannous readied a special gun that contained a tranquilizer dart "if she is to survive I must time this right so
that psychopath believes she is dead…..I best shoot that other Jedi too" Tyrannous thought to himself. Sakaki and Jason worked together to try and defeat
Malacard but nothing they threw at him was doing anything except amuse the Sith lord Malacard then deactivated his weapon and then proceeded to
disarm Sakaki and Jason with his bare hands "let's see how good you are at hand-to-hand combat" Malacard said Sakaki tried to deliver a powerful kick to
the Sith lord but he just grabbed her leg and throw her against a wall hard when Jason attacked Malacard the Sith lord proceeded to counter every attack
he threw at him Malacard then punched Jason so hard in the gut he coughed up blood the Sith lord then grabbed Jason's head and smacked it into his knee
he then force pushed Jason across the room and proceeded to electrocute him with force lightning nearly killing him, he would have succeeded if Sakaki
didn't tackle the Sith lord, Malacard then grabbed her hair then smacked her onto the ground then proceeded to pound her into submission with his foot
followed by a nightmarish flurry of force lightning he then kicked her into the room Reggie and Jason were in, Sakaki fell into unconsciousness "this room
will be your tomb" Malacard said as he used the force to make a cave in expecting them to be crushed under the rubble but fortunately in his over
confidence he merely wound up blocking the only way in and out of the room "yet another successful killing" Malacard said to himself as he left Tyrannous
who had saw the whole thing had a look of horror on his face "monstrous creature" he thought to himself about Malacard. After Malacard left Tyrannous
thought to himself "this works out better than what I had planned" he thought to himself putting away his tranquilizer dart gun not having to use it at all he
sensed Sakaki and her group was still alive he then contacted the Republic space station nearby under a disguise and informed of what just happened.
Tyrannous finally left the location he was in then watched from the shadows as a Republic rescue squad led by Kavarn proceed to rescue Sakaki and her
group "my work here is done" Tyrannous thought to himself as he left to return to Imperial space. Sakaki woke up three days later in a hospital bed
standing right next to her was a young looking woman with long blue hair and green eyes "where am I?" asked Sakaki the woman turned around surprised
to see Sakaki awake "oh your awake that's good your friends were worried sick about you, oh you're on a Republic space station recovering from those
nasty injuries" the woman responded "I see I came with two others are they ok?" asked Sakaki a blatant and understandable amount of concern in her
voice "don't worry their ok they woke up a day ahead of you" the woman answered politely "thanks" Sakaki said with a smile "your welcome" the woman
said "can I ask what your name is?" Sakaki asked "of course, my Name is Kanata Izumi I'm a nurse here" the Woman answered with a smile "pleasure to
meet you" Sakaki said "pleasure is all mine I had daughter in the Jedi order you know" Kanata said "oh really?" Sakaki asked "yeah but I'm afraid she
passed away though" Kanata said visibly sad "oh I'm sorry" Sakaki said "it's all right" Kanata said as Sakaki's friends entered the room "here I'll let you
guys hang out" Kanata said as she left the room "hey Sakaki are you all right?!" asked Kaorin who rushed into the room and was completely freaking out
"I'm fine, I'm fine" Sakaki told her with a smile "man you had us scared for a second there" Kagura said Sakaki just smiled then asked "so did Jason or
Reggie tell you what happened?" "Yeah, man your lucky to be ok" Yukari said knowing full to well what it is like to fight Darth Malacard "so how did your
mission go?" asked Sakaki "fine, other than having to save Kaorin like eight or nine times" Yomi answered "oh come on it wasn't that bad" Kaorin said "you
lost to a regular soldier who had both his arms cut off" Yukari said, Kaorin didn't say anything after that "but other than that the mission went by without a
hitch" Kagura said "now you get some rest and we'll ready to do some more assignments later" Nyamo "yeah you get better Sakaki" Chiyo said sweetly
hugging her before leaving the room after the rest of the group did Sakaki fell back to sleep, and a week later she was back on her feet.
Back in the Imperial fleet Malacard was getting ready for an attack he was all too eager to get done "this will be fun" Malacard said with sadistic glee as
Kaizer and Tomo joined him at the fleet with the infamous grand moff Bulma joined.
for those of you who like Reggie and Jason don't worry their ok they got back on their feet a day ahead of Sakaki and Reggie got some new cybernetic hands.
I'm looking forward to chapter 15 since I have plans for it. see you all then
