Lita woke up the next day feeling much better than she was last night. Her head wasn't pounding anymore nor was she feeling nauseous at all. Maybe taking the medication and last night was what she needed. Her and John talked some during the movie and continued afterwards which was why he was sleeping on her couch that morning. It was pretty late when they were done talking and he looked tired so she suggested he could sleep there instead of driving home late that night. Neither of them thought there was any harm in that.

First they talked about him and his problems. He told her how Sophia asked him about her mother again to which he showed her pictures. He actually had a couple which he didn't burn, rip up, or throw away because he knew there would be a day his daughter asked about her mother and he only kept them for her. She had multiple questions for him to which he answered all of them as best as he could. Except for the reason why she wasn't around. John told his daughter that her mom wasn't ready to be a parent but he would always be there for her no matter what. Lita told him that was the best way he could handle that and it was good he didn't lie and tell Sophia that her mom died like he originally wanted to.

And that's when they went into her problems. Lita told him about what happened at Adam's house earlier that evening. She told him how she was sick and tired of everyone (well, it seemed like everyone) blaming her for Adam just now finding out about Ethan. She complained that Adam wasn't even taking the slightest responsibility of the fact that he was ignoring her in the first place and she tried. She told him how she wished Adam didn't come back because it would have made everything easier. But at the same time, she saw how happy Ethan was with his father so she felt bad for having those thoughts. There was a huge part of her that still had a huge dislike for what he did five years ago and how he left. She said she only tried to forget that for Ethan's sake but it still pissed her off. John wanted to ask if she still loved Adam, but thought better of it, not wanting to upset her even more than she already was.

She entered the living room after she washed her face and brushed her teeth to see that John was just waking up.

"Good morning," she greeted him with a smile to which was returned by him mumbling something. "Someone didn't like sleeping on the couch?" She continued when she walked over to the kitchen. "Sorry I don't have a guest room and I don't think you wanted to sleep on Ethan's bed. That would be weird."

"Na. I'm fine," he replied shaking his head. He got up from the couch and stretched for a moment before he walked up towards her in the kitchen. "How are you feeling today?"

"Better," she answered while making coffee. "Thanks for the talk."

"Not a problem. And thank you for talking to me as well. Thanks for being here for me when I need to talk to you about Sophia or anything else really. You're a great friend."

She nodded. "Same. So are you. You're always there for me when I need to talk about Ethan."

"And Adam," he added to which earned him a scowl.

"Don't bring that up. Or I will be forced to drop this hot mug of coffee on you." She handed him said mug which he gratefully accepted from her.

"Um, please don't do that." He took a sip from the coffee when he sat down at the kitchen table with her doing the same before he spoke up again. "So when are you going to tell Adam how you feel?" He asked bluntly.

"About blaming me and letting others blame me for him not knowing about Ethan before? Oh, he already knows how I feel."

He rolled his eyes. "I'm talking about how you feel about him."

"I think he knows how I feel. I think he knows how I pretty much hate him."

John rolled his eyes once again. "Love, not hate."

Lita glared at him. "I do not-"

"Don't lie," he interrupted before she could go any further. "I know he hurt you bad, but there's still a part of you that loves him. Sure you tell me you hate him, but it seems like you don't even believe yourself when you say that."

"You know you sound like a woman? Stop, it doesn't suit you."

He shrugged. "I don't care. I'm just sharing my observations."

"Well don't. They aren't appreciated."

He was about to say something until the house phone rang. Lita got up to answer it after looking to see on the caller id that it was the object of her and John's conversation calling her.

"Hi," she answered the phone.

"Hey," Adam replied on the other end. "Are you home? Well obviously you are since I did call your house phone. Um, could I come over? I had to run an errand earlier and I was around your area and thought I could stop by because I need to pick up something for Ethan."

"What?"

"The medicine the Dr. Robbins prescribed for him. Remember she said he should take it if he has a cold? Well, he has a cold. If it was over the counter, I would have just went to the pharmacy and picked it up but since she prescribed it, I thought I needed to get it from you."

"Is he okay?"

"Just a cold. He'll be fine." He knew what she was about to say so he beat her to it. "He doesn't need to come to you. I'm his father. I know how to take care of him. It's just a cold. Not a big deal. Plus, you have work tonight."

"Just a cold," she repeated his words. "Okay, you can come and pick it up. When will you be here?"

"Another ten minutes. Is that fine?"

She nodded even though he couldn't see it and then she realized that he wasn't able to see her. "Yea, sounds good. Bye." With that said, she hung up the phone and walked over towards John again, taking a seat across the table from him. "Adam is coming. Has to pick up something for Ethan."

John smirked. "Great. Now we can make him jealous." That earned him a death glare. "Come on, it's not like you never thought about it."

"No actually, I haven't."

"Whatever. I'll help you make him jealous. It'll make you feel better about that chick he was with in Idaho."

No it won't. "Shut up."

Adam finally made it to Lita's apartment a few minutes later like he told her. He was about to knock on the door but it opened before he could even do that. To say he was surprised what he saw would be an understatement. He saw his ex and John together. It was ten in the morning. What was John doing in her house that early?

"Hey Adam," Lita said after she got over the fact that he was there. "You two remember each other right?"

John had to bite back the smirk that was forming on his face. "Yea. Seen him drop Ethan off a couple of times as well. Hey man."

"Hi," was all Adam replied with, the trio still standing in the door way.

It was uncomfortably silence for a while before John decided to break the silence. "Alright hot stuff," he said turning his attention to the redhead, "see ya around. If you need a ride to pick up your car if they fixed it or a ride to work, just hit me up. I'll be glad to be of service to you."

She smiled. "Thanks. For everything."

He nodded. "Had a great time last night," he added that part on purpose even though it was true, like he told Lita before, he would help her make Adam jealous even though she didn't want that. She knew what he was doing, but said nothing. "Bye." He moved closer to her, closing the gap between them and wrapped his arms around her as he hugged her, with her following suit. Both of them missing the look of envy on the tall man's face.

"Bye," she replied when the hug ending, John leaving right after greeting Adam bye as well.

"So your boyfriend spent the night here?" Adam asked highly annoyed after he and Lita entered the apartment and she closed the door behind them.

"Not that it's any of your business," Lita began to answer as she walked towards the fridge, equally annoyed as him, "he gave me a ride last night after my car started producing more smoke than usual."

"So he was the first person you thought to call?"

She groaned in frustration, taking the cough syrup Adam came from out of the fridge and setting it down on the counter nearby after he didn't take it from her when she handed it over. "Is that a problem? He's my friend. I called a friend. Get over it."

"Was Dawn too busy or something? I could have picked you up too." She didn't reply, instead moving to the living room and taking a seat on the couch with him following after her, but not taking a seat himself. "So what 'services' is he glad to perform for you?"

"Ugh!" She groaned once again. He was really testing her patience right now. "I don't even know why the hell I tried looking for you in the first place. Wasted all that money on a private investigator. If I knew you would turn out to be such a jackass, then I wouldn't have done that." She immediately winced when she realized she said those words aloud.

"You did what?" Adam asked shocked and confused when Lita let it slip about the private investigator.

"I hired someone to find where you were," she replied cautiously, trying to avoid eye contact. It wasn't like she could lie about it now that she accidentally told him. It wasn't something she wanted him to find out. She was about to say more until Adam interrupted her.

"Why would you do that?"

"Because I wanted to see where you were. I wanted to tell you about Ethan and Christian wouldn't tell me anything so I decided to hire someone to look for you. I thought it was fair for Ethan if I told you about him and if he knew who his father was."

"So you never found me?"

She bit her lip out of nervousness, not knowing if she should keep telling him the truth or lie, finally gaining the courage to look up at him. "Not exactly." The truth it was.

He was pretty confused by that answer. "What do you mean by that?"

"If you would stop interrupting me, then I could tell you." Adam simply rolled his eyes and she continued. She told him how she started to look for him after Ethans first three birthdays and how she didn't find anything about him until the third time.

"So you found me and you knew where I was, but you never tried to contact me and tell me about Ethan?"

She nodded. "Yes."

"Why the hell would you do that?!" His voice raised. Boy was he angry. "Why would you not tell me about my son when you had the chance?! You knew where I was and yet you chose not to tell me!"

"I'm so sick and tired of you blaming this on me!" She exploded, standing up and facing him. He was done being calm, so was she. "You're the one who wouldn't answer any of my damn calls or reply to my freaking letter! You did this to yourself! You chose to leave! You chose to ignore me! I actually tried! So stop putting this shit on me!"

"We're not even talking about that anymore! We're talking about why the hell you decided not to tell me about Ethan when you found out where I was! You had the perfect chance to do that! You said you didn't tell me because I wouldn't answer your calls! But you knew where I was!"

"You were with your precious little girlfriend! I saw a picture of you two! I didn't want to ruin your life by telling you that you had a son!"

"Oh, so you were just being a jealous selfish bitch?!" She had to fight the urge to slap him across the face, instead clenching her fists at her sides. "So you can move on with your boy toy, but I can't do the same?!"

"For the billionth time you asshole, John is just a friend! And even if he wasn't, it's none of your damn business! Just get the hell out of my house right now!" She began to walk over to the door so she could open it for him and make him leave. But he grabbed her wrist once she walked by him. She took a deep breath and continued as calmly as she could. "Get the hell off of me and get out of my house." He did no such thing, instead turning her around so she was facing him and pulling her closer to himself. She had no clue what was going on in that mind of his, but the dark look in his eyes was slightly scaring her, but she wasn't showing it.

The next thing she knew, he crushed his lips against her own in a bruising kiss. She tried to fight against it even though she didn't want to at the same time. She placed her hands on his chest and pushed him away from her so there was distance between the two. Her heart was beating fast. She wasn't able to comprehend what just happened. He looked like he was about to apologize or something, but then she wouldn't let him. Her body taking over her mind as she closed the gap between them, pulled his head down towards her after she wrapped her hands around his neck and began to kiss him with him responding almost immediately. Her mind was telling her to stop, but her body said otherwise.

He turned them around with her back soon meeting the couch nearby as she fell onto the couch with him falling gently on top of her, making sure he didn't crush her. Her hands soon finding their way under his shirt, exploring his chest. He broke the kiss once so the two could catch their breath. His shirt meeting the floor not long after that. It wasn't too long before she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling his face closer to hers with their lips meeting once again. His hands moving up and down her sides, stopping at her hips and moving under her shirt. They broke the kiss once again after a while so they could catch their breath with her shirt also meeting the floor.

This time, instead of his lips going back to hers, his lips started an assault of her neck. She couldn't help it when moan escaped her mouth as he went after the sensitive parts on her neck. Her fingers fisted in his hair as his mouth went back to hers. Tongues fighting for dominance. It felt like they were the only two in the world and nothing else mattered. Nothing that happened years ago mattered. Nothing they were just fighting about mattered. Too bad they didn't know they would be getting a call back to reality pretty soon. Literally. The phone rang with the two ignoring it, opting to continue whatever was going on between them. But then...

"Mommy!" The two heard a familiar little voice exclaim from the answering machine. The two immediately breaking the kiss, Adam still hovering over her, with them two looking over towards the phone. "I wanted to talk to you. I miss you. Bye." With that, Ethan hung up the phone and the answering machine went off.

Adam turned his attention back to the redhead beneath him who looked up at him at the same time. The two gazing at one another for a few moments realizing what was happening not too long ago. They now knew they couldn't go any further with it. Neither of them saying anything about what just happened. Adam finally getting up and removing himself from Lita. He bent down to retrieve his shirt and put it on before he began to walk to the door. He turned around once to see his ex who was now sitting on the couch with her head in her hands. He said nothing as he turned around and got the medicine from the counter and left.

Lita finally opened up her eyes and looked towards the door when she heard the door shut behind him. She was trying to comprehend what just happened and what possibly would have happened had they not heard Ethan's voice from the answering machine. She would be lying to herself if she said she didn't want that. She shook her head as she thought that wouldn't be a good thing because it would just make things even messier than they already were. Not that that make-out session wasn't going to make things even more uncomfortable than they already were. What happened happened and they couldn't erase it, at least they stopped before something more could happen.

She bent down to pick up her shirt and put it back on. She leaned back against the arm of the couch and couldn't help it as the tears started to roll down her face. What the hell was going on? Why was this so difficult? Why couldn't she just hate him? Because then everything would be easy and life isn't meant to be easy.
