Lita stopped what she was doing and glanced towards the exit of the laundry room when she heard a crashing sound coming from that way. She put down the article of clothing she was currently folding and made her way towards the other part of the basement.

"Ethan, what happened? Why did I-" she stopped herself when she saw the answer before she could finish. "Oh no," she said glancing between the little boy and the now broken Xbox on the ground. "That's daddys game?" He nodded. Lita took a deep breath before she continued. She knew Adam was going to be upset. "How did that happen?"

"I accidentally threw the basketball and it hit it and it fell from the table," he said as innocently as he could.

"How many times have I told you not to play with the ball inside the house?"

"I'm sorry mommy."

She sighed. "I know. But do you understand why daddy and I tell you not to play with your basketball inside the house?"

He nodded. "Because I broke something."

"Yes. Don't do it again."

"I won't. I promise. Are you going to tell daddy?"

She shook her head. "No, but you are. You're going to tell daddy what happened."

"Why do we have to tell him? I promise I won't do it again."

"Because we don't keep things from each other in this house. And it's his game. Do you really think he won't notice next time he wants to play with it?"

"He can find out then."

Lita sent him a stern look. "No. You will tell him. But for now, time out. Ten minutes."

"But I don't wanna," he whined.

"Do you want to make it fifteen minutes?"

"No."

"Okay. Ten minutes. Then you're going to put your toys away and we can go upstairs and you can put your clothes away."

"Okay. I'm sorry."

"I know. Don't do it again and listen to when daddy and I tell you not to do something."

He simply nodded and began his timeout with Lita beginning to leave and go back to the laundry room. She spared one last glance towards Ethan before she went back to the laundry room and continued to put away the laundry she was previously working on before she went to the check what the noise was about.

She slightly jumped and let out a yelp when she felt arms wrap around her from behind her.

"Woah calm down. It's just me."

"Adam, don't do that again," Lita said turning around to face him while trying to catch her breath.

"Sorry," he said placing a kiss on her cheek. "Where's Ethan?"

"In the other room."

"Really? He's really quiet."

She looked down and bit her lower lip before she looked back up at him and replied. "Because he's currently on timeout."

Adam sent her a confused look. "Why?"

"Just pretend it's the first time you hear about it when he tells you. And I'm only telling you because it's better if you curse in front of me and not him. Which you shouldn't do anyways because-"

"What happened?" He asked, interrupting her rant.

"Just remember he's your son, he loves you, and you love him."

"What happened?" Adam asked once again, hoping she would actually answer him this time.

"Remember how we told him not to play with his basketball inside the house?" The blonde man nodded so she continued. "Well, he was playing with it and it might have hit your Xbox which was on the table," his face fell, "which I told you to pick up from there by the way, and um it's possible it fell to the ground and broke."

"Fuck."

"Yea, just don't say that when he tells you."

"Your son broke my Xbox."

"OUR son," she corrected him. "Why is he always mine when he does something bad but yours when he does something good?"

"Because I said so. Are you going to replace it?"

She rolled her eyes before she returned her attention back to the laundry. "Whatever. And um, no. You can do that yourse- ow." She immediately clutched at her belly.

"What's wrong?" He asked concerned.

"Your other spawn just kicked me really hard."

He rolled his eyes. "You do the same thing. You called her my spawn through the first trimester whenever morning sickness hit and you call her that again ever since she started kicking."

"I'm allowed to do that."

He raised a brow. "And why exactly are you allowed to do that?"

"Because I said so," she mimicked his earlier words.

"You're mean."

"No Hon," she shook her head, "that would be you."

It was quiet again with Adam joining her in folding the last pieces of clothes.

"I was thinking about the name Emma for the baby. That's the one name that always stays on my list."

"Emma," he thought about it for a second. "Are you sure?"

"For now I am. I mean, we still have like two months, but that's the only name that I don't end up hating. And I really don't think I'm going to change my mind."

"Do I have a choice in this?"

She shook her head. "Not really."

He smiled at her. "Well I think it's perfect either way."

She smiled back. "Awesome. I love you."

He smirked. "Well, good thing cause we are married."

She lightly slapped him on the arm. "You're a dork."

Dawn and Adam were currently in the waiting area of the hospital waiting for Lita's surgery to be over with. Both of them took off from work because they wanted to be there for the redheaded woman after her surgery. Plus, neither of them would be able to concentrate at work if they didn't know how the operation went. It was easier for Adam to take off more than it was for Dawn since she did run a daycare center from her house. But there was another woman who ran the daycare with her which was why she was able to be at the hospital. She knew the other woman had full capability to handle the children by herself so she didn't feel that bad for leaving her alone with them.

They heard from one of the residents who was in the operating theater an hour ago. They were both pleased when he told them that the surgery was progressing pretty well and Lita was doing relatively fine.

"You should probably go home and get some rest or something," Adam said while glancing up at Dawn, breaking their silence.

The brunette shook her head. "I'm fine. I just... I need to know she's going to be okay."

"You've been here since nine. It's two now. I know you must be tired. I'll call you with the details when every thing gets done and then you can come back if you want." The surgery was supposed to start at ten, but it got delayed for two hours and started a little after twelve instead.

"And you've been here since yesterday when you brought her here. You didn't leave here last night." Dawn scoffed when it looked like he was going to deny what she just said. "I know the reason you didn't come to pick up Ethan last night wasn't because you left here late, it was because you didn't leave here at all." He looked like he was about to protest, but she wouldn't let him. "Don't even try feeding me some bull shit. You're wearing the same clothes you were wearing yesterday. You look really tired which meant you probably fell asleep on one of these chairs out here, that is if you even got any sleep at all. Oh and don't forget, I'm the one who woke you up when I got here."

The blonde sighed. "Fine," he easily gave in, "I was here since last night, but in your condition-"

"My condition?" Dawn interjected before he could get any further. "I'm pregnant, not sick. I'm fine."

"But-"

She sent him a glare. "Shut up. I'm fine. Don't make me hit you."

"Pregnancy is just an excuse for you to be even more mean than usual." Dawn simply stuck her tongue out at him to which he rolled his eyes. "Real mature."

It was quiet for a while before Dawn spoke up again. "Hurt her again and I'll hurt you."

He looked up at her in confusion. "What"?"

"Li. I know you're still in love with her. Don't even try and lie to me. I see the way you look at her. I see the way you act with her. You've been with her since the beginning of this even though you didn't have to be. You went with her to every appointment even though you didn't have to. You even stayed here last night even though you were out here and not in there with her because you wanted to."

"She just needs some support and I was the first person she told so I was just being there for her. Just being a friend."

Dawn snorted. "Bull freaking shit. Don't lie to me." She paused for a moment before continuing. "Just tell her the truth. Tell her why you left. Tell her you love her. I don't know what's going to happen between the two of you, but whatever does happen, don't hurt her again."

"It's just not a good time right now."

Dawn smiled when she finally got the confirmation she was looking for even though he didn't really say anything, he didn't need to. She nodded in agreement. "I know. Just go for it when you do find the timing. Don't let it pass by. Don't do something you'll regret... again."

Adam didn't say anything and it was quiet again between the two. They sat around in silence for another half hour before Dr. Bailey headed towards them.

"Hi," he greeted the duo who did the same.

"Dr. Bailey, this is Dawn," Adam began to introduce the two. "She's Lita's-"

"Sister," Dawn interrupted him. "I'm her sister." She decided to say she was Lita's sister instead of just friend or something in case this hospital had some sort of policy of only family being able to see the patient for the first couple of days like some others had.

Dr. Bailey smiled at Lita's 'sister' before he started to tell the two of the surgery and her condition. "The surgery was a success. We were able to remove the tumor." The duo smiled and sighed in relief as the doctor continued. "Of course we're going to keep monitoring her and we're going to have follow up scans to make sure the tumor doesn't come back." He glanced before the two before he continued. "There was a slight problem in the surgery. Her blood pressure spiked during the procedure and almost threatened for us to close her up and stop it. But we were able to stabilize the blood pressure and continued with the procedure."

"Okay. So what does that mean for now?" Adam asked

"Nothing. It was a relatively small problem which isn't unusual, but it's okay now. As a doctor, I'm not allowed to keep that information from you in case she might need it later for whatever reason. Her blood pressure is stable as is everything else that we can check while she's still under the influence of anesthesia."

"When is she going to wake up?" Dawn asked.

"Soon. The anesthesia should wear off pretty soon. But it could take up to an hour. Most likely she'll be tired and she'll be on and off with sleeping and being awake and won't be fully alert for some hours."

"When can we see her?"

"I can take you after we're done here. I'm sure the nurses will be done getting her settled in another room by then."

"What now?" Dawn asked before Adam could. "What happens now? You said she's fine and the surgery was a success, but what happens now?"

"We wait for her to recover. Right now she's in intensive care unit. Slowly, she'll be able to move to the neurology unit. When you do see her, don't be frighten by the scene. She had a bandage around her head. She is hooked up to an IV. She's connected to a breathing tube. It will remain there until she is fully recovered from the anesthesia. After that, we're going to test regularly for any type of brain damage with a series of tests to see how she's reacting after the surgery."

"But she's okay, right?"

"As of right now yes. But we will know more after she wakes up." The duo simply nodded, but said nothing. Dr. Bailey glanced between the two before he spoke up. "Do either of you have any questions for me?"

The two shook their head with Adam speaking up. "Can we see her now?"

Dr. Bailey nodded. "Yes." He led the two to the room where Lita was lying helplessly in the hospital bed.

Dawn immediately started crying when it was just her and Adam in the room along with the unconscious redhead.

"Hey. Don't cry. The doctor said she'll be okay," Adam said while trying to comfort the crying woman, pulling her in for a much needed hug. She wasn't the only one who needed it, so did he.

"I know," Dawn said through sobs. "But... I hate seeing her like this. It brings back horrible memories." Adam simply nodded. He knew what Dawn was talking about even though he wasn't there at that time because Christian did just tell him the other day. The woman ended the hug before she spoke up again. "I know the doctor said she'll be okay, but I won't really be able to relax until I see for myself. Until I actually see her eyes open. Until I actually hear her talk. I just can't relax right now."

Adam nodded. "I know. I'm waiting for that too."

Lita slowly opened her eyes as she tried to adjust to the lighting in the room. It wasn't bright, but it was too bright for her. She closed her eyes immediately and opened them up again only to find the room was dark, other than the light coming from outside. It seemed like someone turned the light off which was previously on. It was better, but she was too tired to keep her eyes open for a long time. She was kind of confused as to where she was.

She felt something in her mouth and touched the area feeling something tube like which was a breathing tube, but she didn't know that at the moment. It took her a while, but she looked down at her arm and saw an IV on it. She suddenly lifted her hand to touch her head when she felt it pounding. She winced at the pressure she felt when she touched her head. That's also when she felt some sort of bandage wrapped around it. She looked around her after she put her hand down and noticed she was connected to various machines which was when she realized she must be in the hospital, but she still didn't know why. She was too tired to even care at the moment.

Her gaze moved over to another area in the room and saw Dawn and Adam present there. They both seemed pretty happy to see her. Both had a look of relief present on their face for some reason she didn't understand.

She closed her eyes once again. "Ethan? Where is he?" That came out in a whisper considering the tube in her mouth as well as effects of the surgery, but the other two occupants in the room still heard her.

Dawn and Adam glanced at one another before Adam moved a little closer to the woman in the hospital bed. "He's at daycare," he answered as quietly as he could so he wouldn't disturb her, but she could still hear him. "He's fine."

She opened her eyes again and gave him a tired smile. "That's good. How about Emma? How is she?"

Adam and Dawn exchanged a look of confusion with one another, with Adam speaking up once again. "Who's Emma?"

Lita didn't answer his question while her eyes began to shut once again. "I'm tired."

"Okay. Go to sleep then. Dawn and I will be here for you when you wake up."

Lita gave another tired smile. It was quiet for a moment with the two falsely thinking the redhead fell asleep. But then she said something that shocked them both, considering how they thought she was talking to Adam since that's who she was talking to before. "I love you."

Thanks for the reading. Thanks for the reviews. Hope you liked the chapter.

Don't worry, I am not killing Lita. That would be a totally sucky thing to do.

Also, the secret is going to be revealed within the next couple of chapters. Any guesses? I'm sure you can guess correctly because I did leave some hints in the past couple of chapters. Especially a certain one which I thought was a big give away but no one commented anything about that during that chapter.
