Summary:

Chihiro is taken, or as some people think, kidnapped by Haku's assistants, Kyo and Leo the twins, back to the Spirit World after a heap ton of years. Haku and the spirits of the bath house had overthrown Yubaba out of her place as head and put Haku in charge. At last, after all the bath house work, Haku made time to find Chihiro and bring her back as he promised. But when Chihiro's back, she's not happy...but confused! All those years of being away from the bath house has made her forget. Chihiro can't recognize anything not even Haku. Upset, Haku swears to bring back her memories. The two become closer the more they are together and little by little Chihiro regains remnants of her memories. For a while though, strange things have been happening in the bath house. Guests begin to lose their minds and cause trouble in the bath house. As if things couldn't possibly get worse, right? Well, not only do guests begin to lose their minds, but now workers of the bath house begin to lose their minds, including Liz. Frustrated and worried, Haku had to deal with the chaos and got help from Kyo and Leo, now becoming an important part of Haku's life as close friends and important assistants. Now that Chihiro is back, things begin to stir up. Suddenly, No Face has lost his mind to and almost hurt Chihiro. Trying to move Chihiro away from the disaster, HAku tries to spend time with Chihiro. Good thing that their relationship got closer, but! suddenly Haku got a letter...

OK! Let's start from where we left off, shall we?

Haku's POV:

I make sure I'm alone at the top floor's pent house. My grip on the scarlet envelope is leaving wrinkles and creases.

Slowly and with an effort to stay calm or else I'd rip the letter to shreds, I slip the letter out of the envelope and read.

Dear Bath House Leader,

It's certainly been a while since there was contact with each other, but thisetter is in means of importance and is best you read before you discard...once again.

As you may or may not know, ever since my resignation from the bath house, I have been given many offers better than my previous state. One offer I took up was the supervisor for the Chief Ministry of the Spirit World. My job is to oversee the spirit worlds most important areas.

And so, in two days time, I shall pay a visit to the bath house and how you are leading it. I take you are much better at this than I am, after all, the spirits chose you.

I also hear that young piglet, Chihiro has returned, or by how I understand it...abducted.

But by any means, that won't stop me from visiting the poor girl. I want to see how she's doing so no surprises up my sleeve, young man.

Until then,

Yubaba

You have got to be kidding me... she's finally out of my hair and she just randomly says she's coming to see Chihiro...to see how she's doing?!

Sure...I crumple the letter and throw it to the other side of the room in frustration. I pinch the bridge of my nose and think on what should I do until someone pounds at the door. Only one likes to do that.

The door barges open and Kyo walks in with no expression. He stopped in the middle of the room and switched his mauve eyes from me with my arms crossed to the crumpled letter in a corner and back.

"I'm guessing the old lady sent something rather annoying again today?" Kyo rose an eyebrow with a hint of amusement on his lips.

"You didn't guess, Kyo, you read minds."

Kyo grinned and walked to pick up the crumpled letter.

He picked it up and tried to smooth it out. "Yeah well, what was it this time?"

I cringed at the remembrance of what Yubaba wrote. I grabbed the letter out of his hand and crumpled it. Ready to throw out, Kyo grabbed my wrist.

"You should really stop throwing those letters out. Just about how many have you thrown out so far?" He took the paper out of my hands and made sure I was out of reach.

I sighed. "She's coming in two days to see our 'progress'."

"She's WHAT?!" Kyo yelped. I saw my chance and took the letter out of his hands and turned it into scales beforehe could take it again.

Kyo recovered and stared at me, shaking his head. "You really want nothing to do with her.."

I stayed silent and turned away. "Of course I don't."

Kyo was silent for a while too until he broke the silence. "But still, you should really stop doing that."

I rolled my eyes. "Kyo, why would I want to keep them?"

"I'm just saying!"

After that strange silence of staring into Kyo's mauve eyes he raised a finger.

Oh, right, before I 'forget' Chihiro doesn't want to give in. She thinks something's up."

I raise an eyebrow, wondering if this was surprising or not.

Kyo sighed and shook his head. "I'm impressed she manages not to fall under my charm. It usually works with everyone," he looks at me. "Except for you...unfortunately."

I smile and head towards the door, Kyo right by my side.

"Well, Chihiro has always been one to trust her heart." I said, admiringly. "Well, I don't want her to worry."

Chihiro's POV:

My mind is set. Yup. Something must have been up. Haku isn't usually one to keep things to himself. I think mare about it and a head ache is rising into my head. I sigh and let Lin drag me out to the room. She starts to pull shirt after shirt from the closet and dumped it on the floor. She was mumbling about something " over reacting" and "should spend more time to..." I smiled at her exression.

"Hey, Lin? Do you have any idea about what that letter in Haku's hand was about? I'm a little worried. He didn't seem too happy about it."

Lin looked at me then rested her chin on her hand. "Hmmmm. No clue. But I notice he gets that face all the time," she says amused. "I keep warning him that if he keeps that frown he'll have it permanently," she starts to laugh.

I laugh too until suddenly the door slid open and Haku walked in.

"Haku!" I stood up from the floor. Haku smiled softly and rested his hand on my shoulder. "Is everything fine? I couldn't except Leo's words, he seems to always lie." I whispered.

Haku burst out laughing. "Yes, well, he does look like the type to lie, doesn't he?"

"Oi, Oi! I am present you know." Leo said out loud walking into the room and sitting on the ground next to Liz.

"Hey, you can't be here, Leo. It's the girl's quarters. The only one allowed is Haku, and only because he's head." Lin sneered, glaring at Leo.

"Shut it, Salmon Breath. I have my perks." Leo growls.

"Ehhh? The only perk you got is this fist willing to get you straight on the face, baka!" Lin held up her fist and shook it in Leo's face violently. Leo had no reaction like Lin wasn't even there. I giggled and put my attention back to Haku.

I stared at Haku, my smile was wavering and he noticed.

"Haku, what's really going on?"

Haku slid his hand down and grabbed my hand assuringly. I prepared myself for the worst case scenario like maybe he's sending me back to the human side and held my breath.

Haku gave Lin a sharp look that made Lin raise an eyebrow, sigh, then nodd. Haku led me out by the hand and he walked me to the the elevator to the top floor where I had been tied to the ground my magic by Kyo and Leo. The thought was all in all, I have to admit, funny.

The hallways towards the pent house were dim and quiet. The feeling it sent me wasn't very curable to what I was starting to feel. What if I was to be sent back to the spirit world. But Haku said he wouldn't let me go and even if he promised me he wouldn't and he send me back anyway, I'll insist to stay by his side.

I hid my head to the floor, afraid once again for the worse case scenario. Haku opened the large double doors and was about to lead me in until he caught my tears flowing down my cheek.

"Chihiro? What's the matter?" He stretched his hand to my face to brush away the tears. His hand was warm on my cheek. I held his hand to my cheek, afraid that I would never touch his hand again.

"Haku. Just tell me now. Are you going to send me away? It's okay to tell me now. But..." the tears started to run again and I held his hand tighter. "But...I'm sorry. I'll fight to stay be your side..."

Haku cringed and I looked up from my blurring eyes to see what happened.

Haku's face went blank as he stared at me. Then suddenly the hand I held tight shifted to my back and I was tightly held in his arms.

No? Yes? Does this mean he is or isn't? I didn't care anymore and I held him back. His grip was tightening. His voice was shaky.

"Is that what you thought? You thought I'd send you away?"

I didn't know how to respond...I knew my voice was going to be shaky too.

"Chihiro..." he pulled away and he looked hurt. It was like a punch to the stomach. "I will never leave you again. It's been to long since we've parted. I'm not about to send you away like that again. I want to start over. So," he knocked my head with his, paused, then sighed, "Understand that, please."

I don't want to hurt him any more than that and he knew that. He just smiled and patted my head.

After that, I noticed him cringe again and I almost forgot about what he was going to tell me.

"What did you have to tell me?" I asked, nervously. Haku tries to avert my eyes but I glued my eyes to him.

"We..." Haku paused then flicked his eyes to me, unsure, then continued. "We are having a guest in the bathouse."

I felt the ton of worry lift. That's it? But by the look on Haku's face, it didn't seem right?

"A guest? Is that bad?"

He looked me in the eye now. "I'm not sure. It's Yubaba."

Suddenly, there was a hundred tons of worry on my chest. I was feeling faint.

"Y-Y-Yubaba?" I squeaked, unintentionally. "W-Why? I thought she was thrown out."

Haku pinched the bridge of his nose.

"I thought so too...but it seems she sought assistance."

Haku's frustrated expression told me that Yubaba's visit was probably not going to be just a visit. "Haku..."

Haku slipped his hand away and snapped open his eyes.

"She is part of some council and she's having a check up on the bath house to see if I'm doing my job correctly." Haku folded his arms and looked at me with worry in his eyes.

"She got the news that you came back. She would like to see you again. That's the other part of her visit."

My stomach began to hurt and I cringed at what this women had the ability to do. I hugged my stomach and closed my eyes tight, not wanting to see Haku's worried expression anymore.

Haku's fingers brushed my hair away soothingly."Don't worry about anything. She can't do anything other than what she says she's here for as long as I'm head of this bath house."I pursed my lips and closed my eyes tighter. Haku quietly laughed a little. "In which, I will stay as, Chihiro."

I opened my eyes and met Haku's emerald eyes. They weren't filled with worry anymore, but assurance. I felt the ton of worry rise and I managed to breath again.

Haku patted my head again and opened the door to the long hallway out. "Come on. I should probably return you to Liz, or else she'll have a tantrum again." Haku smiled.

I patted away an incoming blush and nodded, walking out to the hallways together with Haku.

As usual, the halls were busy. Workers were eagerly rushing by with a quick greeting to Haku and I. The atmosphere cured me of the last remnants of worry I had left. I took a deep breath and felt renewed. I felt happy once I put aside what was happening in two days. Haku stopped in front of a door decorated with cherry blossoms and dragons and slid the door open. My jaw almost dropped when I saw the same huge black spirit that had attacked me before. I felt a chill run up my back but by the looks of it, it seemed that the spirit was normal because he didn't react, in fact he looked shy, and Lin was kneeling over a bucket and Kyo was on one side near Lin calmly standing next to the spirit. I noticed that I had held my breath because once Haku had gently touched my back I could finally breath. My quick breath made Lin, Kyo, and the spirit look up and see us.

"Go on. It's OK. Things should go smoothly from now on. We have people to back us up." Haku looked up and flicked his eyes in amusement to Kyo.

I giggled and felt a surge of reassurance. At that intimate moment, Lin shouted, "OI! Get a move on Haku! And Chihiro give me a hand will you?" Lin waved her arms and Kyo rolled his eyes and muttered something under his breath. Haku pushed me gently and I walked towards the group silently.

Once I had turned back to see if Haku was still there I felt a pain in my chest. My head was pounding and my blood felt like it was running 100 miles per hour. I had a sudden image flash in my head...

It was Haku and I. The day we parted. I had let go of Haku's hand and promised not to turn around. With an urge to break that promise, I bolted down the grassy hill. The long grass whipped at my legs and I tried so hard from turning back and returning to Haku. It was a regret I would never forget.

The flashback was gone and when my vision cleared a little I just noticed Haku stare at me in wonder and mouth. "I'll be back." He lifted his hand goodbye and that same urge I had that day to run back to Haku came bursting out and without warning, my feet moved on it's own and I had bolted straight into Haku's arms.

The surprise knocked us both down on the ground. Haku winced and I felt the greatest amount of heat run in my cheeks.

"Chihiro?! Are you Ok? What's wrong?"

He tried to lift my face to eye level but the crazed blush on my cheeks felt to embarrassing so I hid my face into Haku's chest. He hesitated but then I felt him brush my hair and I prayed he would know how I felt right then and there.

"Haku, please don't leave me." I whimpered. 'You baby.' I told myself.

Haku stopped for a moment then hugged me tightly. "Silly, did you forget what I had said earlier?"

I looked up at his face, his emotions looked moved and sad. "Of course, I won't."

I could feel the intimate moment emerge but suddenly I realized the place I had decided to create a scene.

Here I am, on the floor on top of Haku, right smack down in the middle of a hall full of spirits bathing. I was practically a show with Lin, Kyo, the masked spirit and the rest of the spirits as the audience. My eyes widened and so did Lin's. Kyo's eyes were the size of the moon and suddenly he bursted out laughing. Tears were escaping. My face went blood red, Haku laughed quietly. Lin was speechless. I quickly stood up and Haku did the same slowly.

The spirits ignored the weird moment and pretended they saw nothing meanwhile Kyo continued laughing. A smile started to creep up on Lin's face. I couldn't move my feet but Haku dragged me to the two who found it funny. I started to twist my shirt nervously and looked down on the floor embarrassed.

Kyo tried to hold in his guffaws but at last Haku smacked him upside the head so Kyo clasped his hand over his mouth and turned away. I moaned and Lin giggled as she patted my shoulder heavily with a heap ton of amusement. "Aww! Don't you worry a thing, little Chihiro! More than anything, thank god you two finally have gotten a crap ton closer together, eh." Lin beamed.

I looked down at the floor again and twisted my shirt tighter. "Enough, Lin." Haku sneered.

Lin started laughing. "Awww come on it's cute!" Lin giggled.

"Lin!" Haku said in a threatening voice. She laughed even more and I felt uncomfortable. But suddenly, Lin stopped laughing. I looked up to see if she was teasing me but what I saw made my stomach turn into a knot.

Lin had tightened her grip on my shoulders. She started twitching and her mouth flexed up into a sneer. She closed her eyes tightly and began to moan as if in pain. When her eyes fluttered open, her eyes had gone blood red. She looked like...a demon. Her twitching stopped a little.

"L-Lin?"

Her eyes rolled to look at me and I felt like prey at that moment. She sneered so that her teeth showed and made a jump for me.

I gasped then held my breath so as to take in the pain I might feel next but Haku had suddenly grabbed my arm and yanked me towards him. He hugged me tightly like a shield and the collision made us fall to the floor...again. He quickly scooted away from Lin while she turned towards us. Kyo came from behind and jumped on her back like a cat and pushed her down on the ground, holding her down by the wrists.

Kyo struggled to keep kicking and screaming Lin down. He hissed out her name and the atmosphere around him felt like he was using his hypnosis on her. It did little to calm her down.

"I have to help," Haku whispered in my ear. " Stay near No Face. Please."

Haku let me go and ran to keep Lin's legs down so that Kyo could finish his spell on her. Behind me, No Face, with no expression beckoned me to him and I scampered to his side. I hated how the only thing I could do was watch as my friend suffered and Haku and Kyo were the only ones to help.

Lin screamed and struggled even more when Kyo growled and touched her forehead mumbling, "Lin. Lin."

She screamed to let her go and somehow pushed Kyo out and grabbed the pail close by and hurled it at me.

I gasped and tripped on my own feet, spraining my ankle and then suddenly No Face got in the way and had submerged the pail in his body, stopping it from hitting me. In surprise, I looked up at the tall spirit and a remnant of my memory came back. No Face was my best friend when he came with me to find Zeniba.

"No Face...Thank you," I said as I slowly felt the pain surge up my leg.

No Face could do nothing but nod once with an "Uh."

Lin screamed louder and this time Kyo lost patients and yelled, "LIN!" grabbing her shoulders and pushing her down on the ground. His ashy mauve eyes were almost purple from probably the hypnosis.

Lin's eyes suddenly bulged and her head dropped to the ground, unconscious. Haku came over the other side and drew his hand into a fist, then outstretched his middle and index finger holding a single peach colored cherry blossom. He put it to his lips and whispered something, then laid his hand on Lin's forehead.

Amazed and worried I looked up to No Face and he nodded with another "Uh."

Quickly, I got up and ignored the pain on my ankle, and limped to Haku and Kyo leaning over Lin.

I hesitated for a minute but kneeled down and brushed poor Lin's cheek.

"Is she going to be Ok?" I asked.

"Yeah. She'll be fine," Haku answered.

"This is the second time though," Kyo muttered, "and this time she was so much more aggressive."

Kyo looked from Lin to Haku. "Something's up and it's really starting to piss me off," Kyo said in frustration.

"Yes, well, we have to keep awareness," Haku said, glancing at the two of us then to Lin and back at Kyo.

"Kyo, take Lin upstairs and keep an eye on her just in case she acts up again. I'll let Leo know about the situation and keep the bath house under watch," Haku said. "Something is up, but we have to make sure it's stopped soon."

Kyo nodded. "No need to tell me twice," he said, picking up poor Lin's unconscious body.

Haku and I watched Kyo carry Lin out of the room. Once they had left, I could feel the spirits stares bore onto my back.

"Come on. We have to find Leo," Haku said, getting up and holding out his hand.

"Ah, right," I said, trying my best to get up without making a pained face. Stupid me because Haku noticed.

"Chihiro, are you Ok? What's wrong with your foot?" he asked kneeling down on the floor with worry in his eyes as he examined by already swelling ankle.

I blushed. "Um, I just kinda hurt it a little."

Haku was quiet. The pain in his eyes got darker. "Haku?"

Haku's silence lasted for a bit longer until he suddenly picked me up in his arms like a princess and carried me out of the baths. From behind, I could see the spirits had still been staring, so was No Face. Embarassment swept on my face and I hid my scarlett face on Haku's shoulder.

I peeked to see that workers had gone chaotic and closed in on us. They were calling out about an emergency and problems but Haku's face was still dark. I felt pain and fault grow in me. I such a clutz. It's my fault.

"I'll deal with it later," Haku said in a glum way. The spirits began to hush down and made way for Haku to pass.

Haku had set me down on a bench and held out his fist. I watched in wonder at what he was kneeled down to my swollen ankle and put his fist to his lips and blew. He released and held a cherry blossom in two fingers. I began to panic. This was like the time Haku had done something similar like this to Lin earlier.

"It's OK. I'm trying to help you," Haku said softly, looking up into my eyes. His emerald eyes stared right at me and soothed me. I nodded and he tilted his head down to continue. His fingers touched my ankle.

I flinched when I felt cold sweep around my ankle. Slowly, the pain from my hurt ankle went down.

I looked at Haku in awe. How did he do that? I mean, I wasn't surprised, after all, Haku had mentioned that he is the river god. Haku looked up to catch my stare but I quickly looked away, blushing. He stood up and patted my head.

"It's healed, but any quick movement will bring back pain, so be careful not to over exert yourself."

I nodded quietly, averting his eyes in embarrassment. He backed up.

"I'm going to find Leo. Stay here and rest for a bit."

The door slid open and quickly I snapped my head up. "Haku! I'm sorry! I really can't take care of myself and so I have to rely on you. I'm sorry I'm useless," I cried out.

Haku's emerald eyes were wide open. He stared at me. A smile formed on his lips. "That's what I want from you. To rely on me. Don't apologize," Haku responded walking over to me and embraced me in his soothing hug. I was consumed as I hugged him back.

"Kawaii," someone said in an amused tone. Haku didn't let go but looked to see who had said it. I peeked over Haku's shoulder. Leo.

He leaned on the doorway.

"So intimately kawaii" he teased.

Haku narrowed his eyes and Leo quickly changed the subject. "I heard that something went up. Mind telling me what?"

Haku let me go and turned to Leo. "Ah, yes. It's Lin. She was acting up again. But this time she was increasingly violent it took more effort to pacify her. Even Kyo's spell was wavering until he had to force it onto her."

Leo's face went blank. His arms slowly unfolded and he walked into the room slowly to face Haku. "Where is she now?"

Haku pointed his finger up. She's upstairs resting. But don't worry, Kyo is watching over her as we speak."

Leo remained silent, his face was expressionless, then he sighed and dropped his head. "So, I'm guessing we have to check on things right now?"

Haku rolled his eyes and knocked his fingers on Leo's head. "Just a quick checkup to see if there are any other strange things going on."

"Fine," Leo said, lazily stretching the word out. I giggled and watched Leo follow Haku out the door.

Once I stood up, Haku quickly spun around and gentlly pushed me back down on the bench. I opened my mouth in protest, but quickly swallowed the words and bit my tongue when I saw Haku's serious expression.

"Your ankle can get hurt if you over exert it, so just rest it for a while, alright?" Haku said, laying his hand on my shoulder.

The words were coming up my throat but I manages to silently nodd in agreement with a smile on my face.

Haku smiled back and lifted his hand off of me. "This won't take long, I'll be back soon, so rest up," he said, turning and walking away.

I watched him walk out the door until the door had clicked to a close. Minutes passed and I sat in silence waiting and thinking.

Five minutes...ten minutes...15 minutes...NO MORE! Sitting was to much for me. I made up my mind to go and find Haku. After all, my ankle wasn't even in pain and I wouldn't force it either.

Once I slid the door open, workers passing by would stare at me. I tapped a passing worker on the shoulder. The little worker spun around and suddenly bowed. "Lady Chihiro! How may I help you?"

My face burned. Um, please just call me Chihiro," I said shyly. The worker stared at me strangily so I continued, "Do you know where Haku went?"

The stubby little worker beamed. "Ah! Yes! He went to the first floor, La-," he paused, tongue twisted, "Chihiro."

I smiled in appreciation and thanked the little worker, said goodbye and hurried downstairs, trying my best to ignore the stares.

The first floor was just as hectic, maybe worse. Women in colorful kimonos greeted incoming guests. I could see the bright brown bridge from here. Nearly stepping on a worker with a long Japanese hat, holding a lantern, I apologized and carefully made way to a corner where I wouldn't disturb anyone and concentrate on catching Haku. After a short amount of effort, at last I found Haku speaking to someone far off and writing something down on a notebook. I smiled. He works so hard.

Suddenly, I heard a women yell out and when I spun my head around, some other women ran from their position as greeters and yell out something that made my blood stop.

"SHE'S HERE! YUBABA IS HERE!"

From the doorway came a women in a formal blue dress covered in lace. Her head was dramatically bigger than her body and covered with warts. Her nose was just as big, but what really made my blood stop was her huge egg shaped eyes that rolled and looked at me. A cold chill had stabbed me straight in the gut.

The old lady smiled widely. "Well if it isn't my adorable piglet, Sen!"
