Summary: While Kagome is looking for Inuyasha in the woods she comes upon something heart wrenching, and like a lot of stories before this one she runs from it and from what is chasing her.

Chapter 9: Morning After
Inuyasha didn't know how he got here, with his firm back press up against a tree staring into nothing but space but after seeing Sesshou-maru whisk Kagome from his sight he couldn't help but feel a little out of sorts. He heave a heavy sigh as he look up into the evening sky, he just couldn't understand where his life had taken him. He was more than sure now that he was once again being pin for something he didn't do to someone he care about, also to make matters worse the one he care for that is still alive is in the arms of someone who didn't deserve her. His retched half brother, Sesshou-maru. Kagome was suppose to be in love with him and become his mate once that Naraku was gone from this land for good. Now she was with Sesshou-maru. Inuyasha heave another heavy sigh as he found himself staring at the slowly waning moon in the morning sky that was just starting to chase away the darkness of the night. He knew what was coming, he'll be human again, and soon. He'll have to find a way to get Kagome back to him after the first night of the new moon.
Suddenly he felt a unsuspecting 'bonk' on his head, glaring up at the offender, to only see Miroku glaring down at him.
"What?!" Inuyasha growl out, rubbing the sore spot on top of his head.
"With your sulking, I suspect you found Kagome-sama but to only have her send you away. Correct?"
"Feh!" Scowling, he shove his hands into his sleeves and turn his head away from the houshi. "I didn't even get the chance, Sesshou-maru snatch her away."
"W-what?" Miroku figure they be traveling together, but it was quite a surprise to hear that the taiyoukai, would take her way.
"You heard me houshi! That fucking bastard wouldn't even let me get a word in once he found me near her, he was ready to kill me!" Growling dangerously.
"Easy Inuyasha… What of Shippou?"
"I smell him in the area, I guess he's fine."
"I see, we still need to get Sango-sama away from Naraku's clutches. Kagome-sama will be safe with Sesshou-maru regardless on how much we don't want her near him. But it's better than her being another one of Naraku's pawns." Clenching his fist, Miroku can't believe it still that Sango is now a pawn of that bastard Naraku.
"We don't even know where to find her Miroku, or have you forgotten how Naraku is only found when he wants to be found?!"
"I haven't forgotten Inuyasha, that's why we'll continue with your journey to find shards in hopes of finding Sango-sama or Naraku."
"What of Kagome!?"
"She is safe with your half brother, come lets head east in hopes of some luck..."
"Feh!"
Inuyasha hated the utter fact that he was leaving Kagome behind in the hands of his human hating brother, he didn't mention to the houshi but the scent of his half brother that clung to her bug him like no other. They smell close, nearly intimate. That was something he wouldn't let happen, clenching his fist tightly letting a few drops of blood fall to the ground.

Burrowing deeper in the thick warm blankets as the sun shine into the large room, with a deep sigh and a large yawn escape from the small lips of one of the two lying on the large futon. Rubbing it's eye tiredly and stretching it's hands towards the heavens as it take a glance at the small frame of the person next to him. With a large toothy grin spread across his face as it remember the fun the had the day before.
He look at the small female sleeping next to him, he wanted to protect her that was for sure. Clenching and unclenching his fist, he had to train and become stronger for his new friend. Stirring next to him caught his attention as he look at the little black hair, brown eyes female beside him. Rubbing his small green eyes as the small female did the same with her chocolate color eyes.
"M-morning Shippou-chan…" Yawning lightly and stretching her little frame out as she took in her surroundings.
"Good morning Rin-chan." Shippou said back to his new friends, his toothy grin appearing once more as he took in her cuteness.
"Didn't we fall asleep in the garden?"
Shippou nodded his head in agreement as he look at his new friend, some the servants of the palace must of brought them inside at some point while they were asleep. Glancing around the room and taking the scents that he could smell, he smell a few different youkai but nothing strange that he can find. He really like to find Kagome but he had no idea where she went off, last he saw her she was with Sesshou-maru. He just hope she is safe with him.
"I'm hungry!" Hoping off of the futon Rin slid the door to the room open and ran down the hall giggling as Shippou snap out of his thoughts and ran after his friend.

The dead look in the woman's eyes as she scan the destruction that lay before, making sure she didn't miss a single person before she headed back to her master. Noting the village buildings were destroy completely and bodies of men, women and even children lay everywhere. Everyone look as if they pass on into the next world, that was the job he had order her. Lay waste to the village south of his current palace. Turning around and heading back to the palace to report in what had happen. Everyone was dead, mission complete.
Her body stiffen, she sense something charging at her at a reckless pace. Jumping high in the air and dodging the large arm that randomly swung at her, with smooth and grace and well practice movement she let her large weapon slid from her finger tips and slice through the large youkai's body slicing it in half. Hearing the youkai groan and gurgle from the wound she inflicted on it, she turn and approach the youkai while unsheathing her sword, slamming the sword into the youkai's skull and ending it's pathetic life in the process with a twist of her katana.
"Kuku… You done well Sango." A man in a baboon pelt chuckle at the scenes that he had witness before him.
"I only done what I was order to do. Nothing more." Giving her sword a firm swipe in the air, flicking the extra blood off of it. She sheath it back into the scabbard.
"Good, now go forth and find Inuyasha and his friends and slay them as well." The man in the pelt chuckle again and faded into the shadows of the forest.
"Yes, Naraku-sama." Sango bow to the retreating figure, turn and left to find these new targets of hers.

Sunlight slipping into the large chamber, creating a light glow on the last two in the great palace to greet it's morning rays of light. A small figure snuggle deeper into the softness of the blanket that cover her naked form as she try to hide from the ever glowing light that illuminate the room. Giving a light sigh of joy that escape her cherry red lips and a small smile grace them. The previous nights events nearly forgotten, but as soon the feeling of something heavy resting on her hip had the events rush back at her. Gasping sightly as not to disturb the sleeping taiyoukai, she had to figure how to get out of his arm before he woke up and had to face reality. Which she wasn't ready to at the moment. Barely moving her body, testing the weight that lay on her hip firmly to her to see if escape is even a option. The little female almost wanted to groan out loud when she felt the taiyoukai beside her tighten his arm around her small hips and pulling her closer to him in a unbreakable hold.
Sesshou-maru almost wanted to chuckle, his little miko wanted to escape him with out his notice. She fail to consider that he would be up before she ever started to crawl out of the fogginess of sleep. Burrowing his face in her long locks that rested behind her neck, inhaling deeply taking in her scent and catching strong whiffs of what had happen the previous night. Frowning as he felt her body go stiff in his arm, 'most likely to unsure of what she should do… -sigh- …such innocents.' Grabbing her arm he flip her so her small frame rested on top of his larger one. Blue-gray eyes grew large as she stare at the molten gold of his, slipping his claw hand through her silken ebony locks. He felt her small hands on his large chest bracing her body up above and away from his, he held back a grin as he stare at her face which was most likely redder than he seen it in awhile.
"Do not fear me little one." He smell her fear in him, he hated that stench covering her more alluring scent. "I will never hurt you." Caressing the side of her face, coaxing her to come close to his own. He scented salt in the air and look at her more closely, 'she's crying…?'
Turning her face into his hand, as her tears started to fall more freely down her cheeks. Too many emotions too soon. Here she had sleep with the taiyoukai Sesshou-maru and not only that she had her very mix and confusing feelings for Inuyasha, one moment she thinks he despises her and the next he telling her he was frame. Now she got the taiyoukai telling her he'll never hurt her. Scoffing mentally, she been hurt too many times by Inuyasha than she care to count. She didn't know what to do, she just wanted to go home and cry till she couldn't cry any more.
Her crying stop and eyes widen as she felt something warm slid across her dampen cheek, staring at Sesshou-maru as she felt his clawed finger slid across her other cheek to wipe away the tears that had fallen down from her cheeks. 'Can he really be the same youkai that try to kill me months ago?' Feeling his hand put a light pressure on back, giving her a good idea that he wanted her to lay down. Blushing furiously before she gave in, she wasn't feeling up to going against the taiyoukai at the state she was in. Laying her head on top of his board chest and going as far as to hide her blushing face against the heated flesh that lay beneath her damp cheek. Feeling him roll back on his side as his face burrow back into her silken locks. She still wasn't sure how to act around him, this is all new to her after all. She just went with felt right and relax her body into his keep and found her lids getting heavy before everything went dark.
Sesshou-maru look down at the small female that was wrap in his arm, even himself is surprise on the event that led to him nearly mating with this little human female. But…, he was no fool to resist his instincts. They always win in the end. No matter the cost. Brushing a few strands of silken black from her face as he took her beauty in. Fine bone structure, cherry red kissable lips, with so many other good features about her he had no doubt that she'll bare strong, good looking pups. Pulling the blanket up to better cover her small frame, it wouldn't due to have a servant come in to see her naked form unless they wanted to have their head roll across the floor.
