A/N Hey so I just thought of this idea for a story so just let me know what you think. I haven't updated in forever, just have writers block at the moment kind of annoying but there you go. Sorry I haven't updated in a while
Monica and Chandler decided to take Zak to the doctors to see if they can do anything about his behavior and see whether they could possibly give him something to help him out with it.
Doctors Office.
Monica and Chandler are sitting on chairs waiting for the doctor to come in Zak is sitting on the bed that they have in the doctors office. Everyone is silent and not saying anything all just sitting there patiently to be seen. There is a knock on the door and the doctor enters and sits down on a chair next to his computer "Hello there, So Zak what can I do for you today?" The doctor asks very politely, Zak just sits there in silence because he doesn't even want to be at the doctor let alone tell him about how his behavior has been recently. "Zak the doctor is talking to you, You could at least reply and answer him." Chandler tells his son. "Whatever, I don't even want to be here, Don't even know why I am actually here." Zak says in a mood and quietly. "I shall tell him then, Basically over the last 4 and a half years his behavious has been getting worse and very bad. We don't know what to do anymore because we have tried everything and nothing works with him. Now is younger sister is starting to copy him and we do not want her to think what he does is the right thing to do." Chandler explains as Monica looks up at the doctor and nods along with what Chandler is saying. "Well this is completely normal because all kids can get like this at some point. I will do some tests to make sure it isn't anything else though just to be sure." The doctor tells the worried parents. "Will he be okay?" Monica speaks up finally. "I am sure he will be fine, I will just take some blood and do some basic tests to make sure he is progressing normally." "When I was younger I used to have epilepsy but it got a lot better in the recent years is there a possibility he may have it but it is effecting his behavior too, He had a couple of fits when he was younger and I took him to hospital but they said he was fine and he didn't have it." Monica asks "Yes there is a possibility he may have it but that is one of the things I will test especially that you had it too. No maybe he didn't have it now but he could have possibly always had epilepsy if he does have it because everyone who has it is different and yes it can effect his behavior." The doctor says to them. "That sounds good, How soon can you do the tests and will he be admitted to the hospital?" Chandler asks "We will do the tests as soon as we possibly can, and yes we may have to admit him to the hospital depending on the results of the tests." "Okay great."
Monica and Chandlers house
A couple of days later all of the tests have been taken and now they are all just waiting for the results of them. They are just sitting in the living room all watching a film because it is family day like they do every week. They all just sit down together and watch tv or movies, they also either go out and play games usually girls against boys and it is fair and all even since Kaley doesn't play considering she is only 7 months old. Everyone is in the middle of playing Monopoly and Chandler is about to roll the dice when the phone rings, he gets up to answer it and notices that it is the doctors office number answers it straight away. "Hello Chandler Bing" Chandler answers the phone. "Hello Mr Bing, This is Doctor Reid from the doctors office. We have gotten the results back from Zaks tests and unfortunatly we were not able to find anything wrong with him in his tests. I am going to refer him to a shrink because it may be something he is dealing with that you don't know about like a psychological problem. We will find out what it is soon enough." Doctor Reid tells him. "Well thank you, Thanks for doing your best and trying everything you can, Maybe seeing a shrink will solve some problems." Chandler says. "I am sure we will get to the bottom of it very soon. Well I have to go now so good luck in your journey and let me know how it goes." "Thanks again Doctor bye." Chandler says and puts the phone back onto the stand "So what did Doctor Reid say?" Monica questions "Basically he said that nothing is wrong with Zak in any of the tests he did, so he has refered us to a psychiatrist for Zak to find out whats wrong with him." Chandler tells her. "Oh well at least we know that we tried everything we could at that part. When is the appointment?" Monica asks "Monday at 11.30am, Which means Zak will miss some of school." "Urg do I really have to go there." Zak asks "Yes because the appointment is made and we need to find out what is wrong with you because clearly something is because if your behaviour and it can not keep happening like it is. It is a bad influence on your sisters." Monica tells him. "Fine, I guess at least I get to miss school that day. Thats one good thing to come out of it." Zak says "It depends on how long the appointment is if you go to school that day." Chandler says. "Lets get back to our game now and talk about this more later on." Monica says.
At the psychiatrist office
Chandler had to work and is not able to come so Monica has taken Zak with her by herself to find out everything. "So Zak, I am going to ask you some questions is that okay?" The shrink asks "Urmmm I guess so." Zak said "Zak answer properly and be nice please." Monica tells him. Dr Crow looks at her clipboard and asks Zak some the of the questions on there and as he answers she writes down his answers. "What was it like when you was a child?" "I am a child." Zak replies "I mean like when you was younger like 3 or 4 if you can remember back that far." Dr crow says "It was okay, my dad wasn't around until I was 4 though." "And how do you feel about that." Dr Crow questions "I dunno, Okay I guess, I liked it because I finally had a proper man to talk to as a dad rather than my moms friends and I guess it made me feel happy because I had someone else to spend time with." Zak replies "Now you don't spend time together?" Dr Crow questions "Nope he is always working now and never has time for me." Zak said sadly "That makes you feel sad?" "Yeah and lonely, I feel left out when he is always doing things with my sisters rather than me. I want to spend time with him just us nobody else. Like we always used to when I was younger and mom was always working." Zak said "He does spend time with you Zak." Monica states "Yeah always doing work or something else whilst being with me, It is always about work and money with him. Thats exactly why he isn't here today because of stupid work." Zak complains "So you want him to spend time with you just the two of you for once rather than everyone else involved and no work there. Why don't you both arrange something so you could hang out on Sundays just the two of you?" Dr Crow suggests. "I always tell him that, but he never listens. I am always trying to get Zak to want to be with his dad for a bit together but you always argue back and say no you don't want to because you are busy." Monica explains "Yes because it is always on a Saturday and he is always working on a Saturday, I don't want to hang out with him if he is pre-occupied with other things." Zak said. "Well why don't we just make you an appointment for you and your dad to both come in and talk about your issues together?" Dr Crow suggested to Zak. "That would be okay, I guess." "That doesn't explain why he is behaving badly." Monica says. "It is complicated, because of his father not being there and him always being busy Zak acts up hoping that his dad will want to hang out with him if he is naughty." "Chandler has been there for Zak ever since he was 4 years old. Ever since he even found out about Zak. It wasn't his or my fault that he was not there until Zak was 4." "Maybe he thinks that because his dad was not there for him when he was a baby because he left you before he thinks that Chandler will walk out on you all and this time for good." Dr Crow said. "It wasn't Chandlers fault, he didn't know I was pregnant with Zak and he tried to find me and wanted to be with me but we couldn't find each other it wasn't our fault. Then Chandler showed up and has been there ever since and will never leave." Monica explains. "I don't like it because he wasn't there to see most of my firsts but he was to see Katie and Kaleys and he was always so excited about it. I feel left out and upset because he was never there for mine, it is like he doesn't even want me." Zak said "He does want you, and you know it Zak." Monica says. "I think that we could continue this next time as my next appointment is here but you have done well today Zak. Just remember you are wanted as much as your sisters are. Just tell your dad how you feel." Dr Crow says as she is letting them out of the room.
Monica and Chandlers house.
That night time Monica and Chandler are in bed talking about the days events. "So did you find out why Zak is behaving badly?" Chandler wonders "Well he basically said he gets upset because you never have time for him and if you do hang out with him you are always busy with something else like working or whatever, He resents you for not being there when he was born and because every time you see one of the girls do something new that you never got him to see you get all excited and it makes him feel not wanted or loved." Monica tells her husband. "So basically all his anger is centered around me?" Chandler asks "Well kinda, but the psychiatrist wants you to go with him to his next appointment to talk and sort out some of the issues he has." Monica tells him. "Okay well I do my best but it is hard because I didn't get too see much of his firsts and I guess I should tone it down when they do something new. At least I saw his first day at school." Chandler said "There will be plenty more firsts for him in the future too, first date, marriage, his children. Loads of things like that." "I guess so yeah. Lets talk more about it tomorrow."
