Busy busy weekend I'm going to have. Lots of homework. Joy. Well, here we go. Hope everyone had an awesome Halloween. And a Happy College Halloween to all my college readers who I hope are taking advantage of the discount Halloween candy at your neighborhood Walmart. I could not go today because of classes but I want to go tomorrow and get some Kit-Kats. Those are my favorite!

"Each of you will write "I will not use magic to torment a student" until your piece of parchment is completely filled," Professor Higgins said as she handed the four Gryffindors a piece of parchment longer than themselves.

"Yawn," Sirius whispered to James. He jumped when Professor Higgins slammed his parchment on his desk.

"No talking," she said. "The parchment has been charmed so that you cannot waste parchment on big letters, so each of you will be writing the same amount. Get started."

Remus sighed and began writing. It had been a long day and all he wanted was to go back to his room and sleep. Thanks to the full moon the night before, and detention tonight, he had very little time to do his homework. After classes had ended, Remus went to the Gryffindor common room to work, though he desperately needed sleep. As the parchment slowly began to fill, Remus fell into a rhythm. He let his mind roam to earlier this morning, when he first woke up in the abandoned house that was going to be his home for the full moons.

Remus groaned and shielded his eyes from the early morning light. Though the boarded up windows blocked most of the sun's rays, somehow one little band seemed to find its way to Remus's formally sleeping form.

After moving to the side, Remus rubbed his eyes and opened them. He took in his surroundings. He was in a different room than earlier, when he had first transformed. He had been in a bedroom then. Now, he was in the sitting room. Claw marks covered the walls. The furniture looked like they had been ripped to shreds by an animal, but Remus knew who really had done it.

'Imagine if I had gotten out,' Remus thought. He started to stand, using his arms for support, only to fall back down in agony. Pushing his sleeves up, he found teeth marks all over. Remus tried to keep the tears from leaving his eyes. 'Why must I be cursed with this? It isn't fair? Why couldn't I have died all those years ago? Why do I have to suffer through this every month? Why me?'

That beast inside of him must have been angry when it found nobody to munch on. After searching the building for signs of life, then working on destroying the sitting room, it focused its anger on itself. Perhaps it was just as angry and upset about the situation as Remus was.

Remus looked up at the sound of shuffling near the door. After a few seconds that felt like hours to the poor eleven year-old, Madame Pomfrey stuck her head through the door that was barely hanging on its hinges.

"How are you feeling?" she asked. Remus could hear a bit of fear in her voice. She knew what he was, and Remus understood why she should be scared, but it warmed Remus inside to know she didn't think less of him because of it.

"I-" Remus began, thinking it would be best to hide his wounds from her, but in the end he knew she would find out anyway. "I think I bit myself." He pulled up his sleeve to show her the marks. She sucked in some air between her teeth and rushed over to him. Taking out her wand, she muttered a few spells. The marks didn't go away completely, but Remus was glad they looked like bruises now.

"I can't make them completely go away," she said, "since they're werewolf bites, but at least they don't look too conspicuous."

"I can always tell people I tripped," Remus said, rolling his sleeve back down.

"That's the spirit," Madame Pomfrey said, smiling. "Are there any more bite marks I should know about?"

"Other than the first one on my shoulder," Remus said, subconsciously touching his right shoulder as he said it. "No, I don't think so."

"Well, you looked exhausted," she said, changing the subject. Remus sighed and slowly got up from the ground. He knew talking about the night he was attacked made people uncomfortable. He shouldn't have brought it up. "Let's get back to the hospital wing. You can catch up on sleep there."

"No," Remus said. "I want to go to class."

"What?" Madame Pomfrey asked, turning to look at him.

"I want to go to class-"

Remus was jolted out of his thoughts by the sound of shuffling near him. He turned to see Peter getting up, his parchment full of lines. Remus looked at his own paper. It was a little more than halfway done. He took a peak to the left and found Sirius and James were close to being done as well. Remus cursed himself for not paying attention. He let his mind wander when he should have been working faster. How long had they been there anyway? He looked back at Sirius's paper and found something odd. Sirius's handwriting seemed larger than his owns, even though it was farther away. Had Professor Higgins giving them different parchments so that they each had different amounts to write? But didn't she say they each had the same number of lines to write? A loud bang sounded behind him as the door to the classroom swung open.

"Excuse me Professor," the new arrival said, making Remus, Sirius, and James turn around. "Have you seen Mr. Lupin by any chance? He was supposed to report to the hospital wing this morning."

"I am right here Professor Dumbledore," Remus said, raising his hand. Professor Dumbledore acknowledged his presence with a nod.

"I am sorry Albus," Professor Higgins said, rising from her desk. "But Mr. Lupin is in the middle of detention, so he will have to come find you after he is done."

"Oh I understand," Professor Dumbledore said, coming up behind Remus and peering over his shoulder. "I will just wait here until he is done. How many lines do they need to write?"

"They need to fill the entire parchment," she answered. Dumbledore nodded.

"I see," he said, looking back at Remus's parchment. "You do not need to write so small. Larger letters will fill the page quicker."

"The parchment stops me from writing bigger sir," Remus said, turning back to write more lines. He had already lost enough time as it is."

"I am counting seven hundred seventy-seven lines," Dumbledore said. "My that is a lucky number, isn't it?"

"Not for lines," Sirius said. Dumbledore laughed.

"Right you are Mr. Black," he said as he looked at his parchment. "How odd. Mr. Black seems to have only written 423 lines yet is farther along than Mr. Lupin."

"Well, they were each given amounts equal to their crimes," Professor Higgins said.

"I though you said we were all writing the same amount," James said, standing up from his seat. "Remus didn't do anything to deserve this. I'm the one who transfigured the quill into a pair of scissors."

"And I'm the one who charmed them to follow Sni-I mean Snape around," Sirius said. "We should have said something sooner but it wasn't like you would have believed us anyway."

"Yeah," James said as Peter nodded his head really fast. "You seemed so set on giving Remus detention we didn't bother, but we should have." He looked over at Remus and gave him a small smile. Remus couldn't help but return the gesture.

"I think you have written enough for your crimes, don't you think Delora?" Professor Dumbledore asked, raising an eyebrow. Professor Higgins sighed.

"Yes, you may go Mr. Lupin," she said. Remus smiled and gathered his things before dropping his parchment onto her desk. As he walked back out, he passed between Sirius and James.

"Thanks for that," Remus whispered to them, unsure if there were sticking up for him or felt guilty that they dragged him into this mess.

"No problem," Sirius said, not looking up from his writing.

"That's what friends are for," James added, also not looking up.

"I believe what you really need is rest," Professor Dumbledore said as he, Remus, and Peter exited the classroom. "I will tell Madame Pomfrey that you went back to the dormitory to sleep. You have had a long and exhausting day and something tells me you did not get much sleep last night either."

"Don't worry Professor Dumbledore," Peter said. "I'll make sure he gets plenty of rest."

"Thank you Mr. Pettigrew," Dumbledore said. "You have quite the loyal group of friends Mr. Lupin." Peter grinned at Dumbledore's comment and started steering Remus towards Gryffindor tower. Remus smiled at the thought of having friends. He had never had friends before. This was a new experience for him.

But what would they think of him if they knew where he had really been last night.

So a little insight on what Remus was going through in the Shrieking Shack, which has not been nicknamed the Shrieking Shack yet, so its just a run down house now. I just found out that, even though Teddy is named after his grandfather Ted, his full name is Edward. How do you get Ted from Edward? Thank you JK Rowling for telling us this now, six years after the book was released. Do you know how many fanfictions have Ted Lupin in them? Another cannon I do not agree with. I will still call him Ted Lupin.
