Epilogue.

"Two years," Rilian toasted at Victoria their crystal glasses tinkling. The pair were stood on their balcony with a bottle of wine over looking the sea.

"Yes two years of being married to you," she wrinkled her nose in fake horror before laughing at his mock hurt expression. "I have a confession," she said putting her glass down without taking a drink.

"Ok," he said seriously sensing her change in tone.

"At least I think I have a confession I'm not totally sure."

"Victoria spit it out." Rilian said "I'm worried."

"I think I'm pregnant." she said.

"What?" He asked astonished.

"I'm not sure," she said by way of explanation.

"No, no," he said "you misunderstand me I'm thrilled." His face broke into a great smile. "We are having a family?"

"We might be having a family."

"Lets be optimistic," he beamed hugging her.

"I feel so old." Rilian said to his wife as they sat with a picnic on the castle lawn.

"Me too," she said taking a strawberry and staring at a point in the distance that all four people in that group had their eyes fixed in.

"Do you think she will say yes?" King Ram asked.

"Yes" Queen Victoria said "she is mad about him."

"Although she is stubborn like her mother," her husband said and for his effort got a strawberry pelted at his face.

"When did our children become so grown up?" Queen Helena said.

"If you had seen John's bedroom I'm not sure you would think that." Rilian said.

"He is your youngest," Queen Helena said kindly.

"That's not an excuse," Rilian said.

"The youngest of six." Added Queen Victoria.

"Yes and doesn't he play on it." Rilian growled.

"You are being mean," Victoria scolded him.

"I am," he conceded.

At that moment there was a rustle from the Forrest and the adults turned to peer around hoping to see Prince Alfon of Archenland and Princess Victoria of Narnia. They would be disappointed it was most but not all of the other royal children. First came the second son of Archenland Edward followed by the second daughter of the Narnians: Amelia. Queen Victoria looked at the looks between them and wondered if she might be planning a double wedding. Following them were the Narnian twins Caspian and Henry both had inherited their fathers blonde hair and as usual appeared to be planning a great secret.

Tailing behind was the youngest Narnian John with little Ella the smallest of all the children and an Archenlander.

"How are you?" Queen Helena asked "good adventure?"

"Yes mother," said Ella as she plonked herself down and began eating grapes. Helena looked at Victoria and a pointed glance passed between them it said "Edward and Amelia?"

"No news?" A voice behind them said and Victoria turned around to see her eldest child crown Price Rilian.

"Not yet."

"How did the meeting go?" King Rilian asked.

"Good I will talk about it more later father."

"Ok good I want to see the maps and maybe we should include Jax on the discussions."

"Yes I think he is the best expert we have."

Come on you two," Victoria motioned to the food "stop talking shop."

Although to a casual observer the group appeared casually enjoying themselves. Every member with perhaps the exception of Ella and John kept one ear out for the return of the missing prince and princess.

"They're here." Caspian shouted before being shushed by everyone who tried to arrange themselves into a casual manner. It was a poor effort and as soon as Princess Victoria came out from the forest she could see her family acting unnaturally.

"Hello darling." Her mother said. She frowned her mother never use the endearment darling.

Princess Victoria looked at Alfron and nodded.

"She said yes," he beamed and the group broke into loud cheers and shouts. Victoria was hugged many times and kissed by her mother and her future mother in law more than once.

"Are you happy?" Her father whispered in her ear.

"Yes so happy," she smiled.

"That's all I need to know." She smiled at him. "You look like your mother did when we got engaged," he said hugging her again.

"One child down," Victoria said as she and Rilian took their favourite evening spots of the large balcony leading from their bedroom with a beautiful view of the sea.

"Dear Lord woman you can't be planning to marry them all off already John is only eleven and the twins are barely old enough to wear chain mail.

"No I'm not," she smiled "Rilian doesn't seem to be making any plans in that directions."

"Maybe he needs what his father did a bossy, stubborn, beautiful woman to travel from the end of the world."

"Maybe." She smiled back.

"I love you, you know that?" Rilian asked. He asked her the same question every day and each day she replied with a kiss to his forehead. Today she took is face in her hands in a way she had not in months.

"I love you more than I can possibly imagine." He smiled back and looked out over his kingdom.

"Any ideas for the twins? Marrying them off would make the palace a lot quieter."

"It would but then who would you and Rilian moan at every breakfast?"

"True." he held her hand and looked at his wife perfectly content in the kind of love that is so deep and has been going for so many years that it needs no words. They smiled at each other truly content.
