May 16, 3:45 P.M. Former Site of Engarde Mansion

Detective Gumshoe watched as the last dump truck arrived and took the final load of rubble out to the nearest landfill. The once rubble-filled hole where the foundation once was had been cleaned out, so now it looked like an unfilled swimming pool.

Phoenix, Maya, and Pearl were standing by him, wondering how they had managed to stand there and watch the excavation for the past few hours. At the same time the dump truck left, the Chief of Police drove up in a limousine, and handed a piece of paper to Gumshoe.

He said, "I've increased your salary by 90%. No longer will you have to eat instant noodles every day for lunch! Your minimum hourly pay is now $34.00 per hour. Also, check this out."

Handing Gumshoe a blueprint, he stood back. As the detective grabbed the paper, he became amazed.

It was a blueprint, with a very tall building that rose to the same height as the former Engarde Mansion, with a lively exterior and a completion date of September 23. The chief explained, "You went through a lot during the Mad Bomber Saga, Detective. Now, we are building the all-new Gumshoe Mansion."

He asked, "Gumshoe Mansion?! Well, pal, that sounds excellent! I'd like to live in a mansion!"

"It is your mansion, Detective. Why would there ever be a building christened 'Gumshoe Mansion' that you wouldn't live in?"

Gumshoe answered, "You're actually right."

Just as Phoenix, Maya, and Pearl were about to leave, the Chief called them all over.

"By the way... the governor has decided to host a parade to celebrate de Killer's capture. There's a dinner and a dance afterward in the ballroom at Gatewater." Pearl's face lit up like a lightbulb.

"Mr. Nick! You and Master Maya should dance together! It would be so cute to see you two out there, dancing with all of those other people!"

Maya gasped, "Pearly! Nick and I may dance tonight... I am not sure if I even have a dress on me, being a spirit medium, after all. But I'll see if I do have one..."

All of a sudden, across the street, a long line of floats began lining up in an informal line and began heading for the center of the city, where the parade would begin. Phoenix said, "I think we should see the parade! It is probably a really good one!"

May 16, 4:00 P.M. Los Angeles Downtown

A line of people formed on the sides of the street, waiting for the parade to start. The commotion was intense, for most of the city's population had stopped over to see what they had in store. When the second hand hit 30 seconds, some hits on a snare drum could be heard, and then they started moving.

An announcer boomed, "Ladies and gentlemen... on behalf of Governor Jacob Fields and Lt. Governor Meredith Reynolds, we host this parade in city of Los Angeles today. About now, you will see them marching by you, holding the flags of the United States and the State of California."

A drum beat then sounded, and a mighty, powerful march began playing. The announcer continued, "Those kids passing by right now are members of the James Madison High School marching band. Currently, these consist of this year's high schoolers, including the now-graduated Class of 2019. This July, new members will be trained in a two-week long session known as 'band camp'!"

The march continued, getting gradually more proud-sounding as more people passed on by. In the middle of the parade, the police department's float passed on by, on which Officer Meekins, the Chief, and Detective Gumshoe were all on. "There goes the police department. Without them, the Mad Bomber and de Killer II would have still been on the streets."

An hour later, the final float passed by, as a brass fanfare took the music to a whole new level. "And there goes the float for the Prosecutor's Offices. They will press charged against those two later this year." Miles Edgeworth poked his head out of the float, embarrassed as hell as Lana Skye began throwing finger pointers into the crowd.

A kid picked up the finger pointer, and lunged forward, screaming, "OBJECTION!" like Phoenix does during his trials. Before long, all of the other kids began doing the same, now in love with the ace attorney's legacy, despite having a prosecutor give them the pointers. They definitely loved defense attorneys more.

When the parade finally ended, Phoenix, Maya, and Pearl went back to the law office to get ready for the dinner and the dance.

May 16, 5:30 P.M. Wright and Co. Law Offices

Phoenix picked out his outfit and reserved the bathroom for himself. Instead of going in his standard attorney's suit, he instead out on black dress pants, and kept the white shirt he was wearing, but put on a blue, striped tie and a black sport coat, before spiking his hair up again with more gel.

He exited the bathroom, and said, "Maya, you can use the..."

His words stopped halfway through the sentence, for he found Maya's kimono and underwear lying on the floor. The ace attorney asked, "Maya? Where are you?" She appeared before him, completely dressed.

He almost passed out cold upon the floor. Likely, she had lied to him about the dress, because it was the most beautiful he had seen her in his life. It was purple, and appeared very soft to the touch. Her hair was done up in a special way, as if she had stolen some of his hair gel to do it.

He asked, "If I were to ask Pearly, where were you changing into your dress? In the open?"

She laughed hysterically, almost in tears. "Nick... why would I do that? Only really..."

Phoenix interrupted, "Immature 19-year-olds do that. Next time, use this thing called a 'bathroom' to disrobe in."

Maya gasped, "Nick! I was in the other bathroom!"

Phoenix sweated and his classic "whoops" face showed his nervousness.

"S-Sorry. I was being an idiot."

Pearl then appeared from seemingly nowhere. It was obvious that she was not planning on any special dress, as she was still dressed in her kimono. "Can we go now, Mr. Nick?"

He replied, "Yes. Let's go."

May 16, 6:03 P.M. Gatewater Hotel, Lobby

Phoenix walked up into the lobby and took a right turn. There was the entrance to a restaurant nearby, so he led Maya and Pearl to it. He said, "Dinner for three people."

The man answered him, "Wait a minute... you're Phoenix Wright, that famous attorney! I'll seat you down nearby. A few of your friends are there."

The waiter navigated them around the restaurant until they reached a table at which Edgeworth, Franziska, Gumshoe, and Maggey were all sitting. Upon sitting down, Edgeworth said, "Wright, I am highly surprised that you managed to keep a cool head as the Mad Bomber went around. Congratulations. Gumshoe, good job on finding him."

Gumshoe replied, "Ah, it wasn't easy. Besides, Maya was in great danger, as was all of L.A. and even Kurain! Hazakura Temple was bombed, too! I thought it was over, but then they found him!"

Phoenix smirked, "This reminds me of a story. When I was in 9th grade, I was nominated for homecoming court. The other freshman who was nominated was this girl named Rachel that I liked back at that time. It was pretty good as we went down the steps of the auditorium and sat in our chairs.

That was when the funny stuff happened. One of the sophomore's favorite memory was when the biology teacher, Mr. Blight, ripped his pants during a lesson. One senior's favorite memory was when he got mad at Eddie Smith and squeezed his milk carton, which squirted all over Jordan Peasly."

By now, all of the occupants at the table were laughing hysterically. The waiter came by with the appetizers that Edgeworth had ordered minutes earlier. He dared not to interrupt their laughter. He placed the dish on the table and ran off.

"Tessa Albaugh's favorite memory was when her friend vomited 3 consecutive times in the parking lot of Pizza Hut after eating an obscene amount of pizza after a cross country meet. Eddie Smith's favorite memory was when Mr. Jacoby, the finite math teacher, had to babysit him in the dugout of the baseball field after his concussion."

Maya was seemingly about to die from laughter at this point. Pearl was in tears because she was laughing so hard. Edgeworth and Franziska were trying to keep their faces straight, while Gumshoe and Maggey were giggling quite a bit.

The rest of the dinner went on smoothly from course to course. By the time it had ended, Pearl was about ready to pass out from the exhaustion of having to stay awake for that long.

May 16, 9:00 P.M. Gatewater Hotel, Ballroom No. 3

The ballroom was about half-full. All of the people who were getting ready to go out onto the dance floor were doing last-minute checks, especially the girls, who had to ensure they were ready to exert themselves. Maya checked that her hair was the way she had out it a few hours earlier, and Phoenix straightened the spikes in his hair.

Near the end of the ballroom, an orchestra had been assembled, and the director was getting on the podium, ready to supply the dance with appropriate music for the occasion. Phoenix took a deep breath and walked with Maya out onto the dance floor. He also saw Edgeworth and Franziska, and Gumshoe and Maggey go out as well.

Phoenix heard the conductor stand on the podium, and counted in his head. He thought that the first piece they would play would be the first movement to a symphony or a grand waltz. But instead, a short silence and the sound of a tenor and alto saxophone melody filled the air.

Maya simply stared at Phoenix, listening. The attorney turned his ear towards the sound, and after a few seconds, said, "This music sounds familiar, Maya."

She gasped, "Godot! It's that music that plays whenever he was around someone!" Her eyes swelled up and tears fell to the ground.

Phoenix looked out of the corner of his right eye, and saw indeed that Godot, otherwise known as "Diego Armando" since his release from the Detention Center, was standing there, off of the dance floor.

Pearl sighed, "I feel bad for him. His special someone can't dance with him because... because Mystic Mia has died!" She even shed tears at the sorrow of Armando's life.

A few minutes later, Diego was still staring at the floor as his theme played around him. That was, until a woman appeared in front of him. She asked, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I was just wondering..."

As he lifted his head, he saw a girl in front of him. He couldn't believe his eyes.

He thought, "It has to be her... but how? She's in that little girl's body! But she is Mia at heart..."

He placed his hand on hers. "Yes. I would love to dance with you tonight. Even if it's just once..." He lead her onto the dance floor, being the happiest he's been in years.

Upon that moment, the orchestra stopped playing his theme and transitioned into a much smoother, more beautiful piece of music. Phoenix placed his hands on Maya's waist. She was thin, but not excessively thin for his tastes. Her hands landed on his shoulders, but she wanted to use her hands to pull him into her face.

He asked, "So... you want to dance tonight?"

She giggled, "Whatever you say, Nick."
