Chapter 6: 4 months part 1-
WARNING: In the end of this chapter there is a lot of bad language
I'm back with chapter 6 :)
Ayano stirred in her sleep gently, hugging the pillow that lay next to her murmuring slightly in her sleep. I smiled before closing the door on her gently. Creeping down the hall quietly till I came to the lounge.
I looked over at the chair where Jugo sat patiently his eyes closed."What is it Jugo? Why come here so late at night?"
"Kazuma, you need to leave here for a while" his answer was short and gave no further explanation
"Why should I?" I asked
"Ayano's life is in danger Kazuma... Look, I have very strong reasons to believe that the Kannagi elders as well as one of your enemies have partnered up together in order to...kill,... Kazuma trust me when I say this, Ayano's life is in grave danger, you must leave the city now" the old man pleaded with me.
"Who's putting Ayano's life in danger?" I asked my heartbeat fighting against my chest. A sneaking suspicion evolving in the back of my mind.
"I... believe...it may be Bernhardt" Jugo said gravely looking down at the floor. At that bastards name my heart went cold, 'if that son of a bitch even tries to take away my wife or unborn child I'll fucking murder him'
"Bernhardt, that bastard if he even looks at Ayano I'll murder him" I growled
"But first take my daughter away from the city, take Ayano away from here and the heir of the Kannagi's. Please Kazuma this is the only thing I ask of you"
"I'll do it, but I'm doing it for Ayano's sake not yours or the family"
"I understand why you wouldn't do it for the family but thank you. I must be getting back, Genma will only be able to cover for me for a short while at the most. I'll leave a folder here with all the information you'll need about what we just talked about. Goodbye and take care Kazuma"
Next morning-
Ayano POV:
"Ayano wake up" I felt my shoulders being shaken gently, I slowly opened my eyes to see Kazuma's blurry image leaning over me.
"Kazuma what's going on" I asked confused pulling the bed sheets off my body slightly.
"Ayano get dressed quickly, we have to leave soon" he replied not wasting a second to answer back.
"Are we going somewhere?" I looked at his emotionless face, trying to guess if something was wrong but I could never tell he hid his emotions so easily... unlike me.
"Yes" Kazuma responded before adding "But I can't tell you where... because it's a surprise" I couldn't tell if he was lying.
"Get dressed now" he left the room.
I shuffled out of bed unsure about what had gotten into him, looking at the foot of the bed I saw one of my dresses and a summer cardigan. 'hmm, maybe we're going on a day trip that'd be fun we haven't been anywhere together for a while and it be fun, I feel more awake now like I can do more I don't feel so emotional like I did a few weeks ago' I reflected on how I'd been over the last few months and how I improved
Taking the dress and cardigan and slinging them over my arm I went to the bathroom for a quick shower, pulling my nightdress over my head I threw it at the laundry basket tying my hair up I stepped into the shower.
(Time skip)
I stepped out of our bedroom and walked down the hall where Kazuma stood waiting his back to me, he looked like he was reading something, sneaking up behind I pounced making him jump slightly and whip around to face me.
"Are you crazy Aya?! You could've hurt the baby" he yelled out making me wince slightly and cower.
"Sorry" I mumbled a apology feeling like a little child whose just be caught taking biscuits from the biscuit jar.
'Bernhardt' out of the corner of my eye I caught sight of his name on the file Kazuma was holding 'Bernhardt... but why would his name be on a file we haven't seen him since pandemonium has he returned?' I think Kazuma noticed because he moved the folder behind him so I could read no more.
"Right then you ready princess?" he asked me, turning away and putting the folder in his bag on the table, that was when I noticed just how bland it looked around the apartment.
"Kazuma, where is everything?" the entire apartment was basically bear not that it wasn't already but there were a few photo frames missing and the vase Ren had given us as a wedding present.
"You'll see in a minute, now Ayano." he placed his hands on my cheeks holding my head steady so that I looked him in the eye "Can you promise me that you'll be quiet and wont make any unnecessary movements or gestures, just play along"
"what do you mean Kazuma" I asked nervously
"Nothing really, just stay calm until we get to the car" he nodded in a reassuring manner.
"Ok, your being a bit weird"
"Really that's awesome" he let go of me and turned away. Closing the top of the bag on the table "I packed your bag and coat, there by the door" he pointed with his finger to the door.
"Oh ok" I picked them up and shrugged the coat on even though it was only the end of august it was raining lightly outside and was still very cold and without the fire spirits to protect me I felt even colder.
Ring Ring Ring
I turned my head to the phone slightly surprised, 'Were we expecting any visitors'. Kazuma appeared in front of it having used his wind magic, answering the phone with a curt reply nodding twice before he put the phone down.
"damn, there outside" he said to himself as he swung the bag over his shoulder and took my hand. "Ayano listen to me, when I tell you to run just go and don't look back they're going to target you but you've got to keep yourself safe no staying behind just go and wait in the car, and keep your head down don't make any sudden movements or draw attention to yourself" he tightened the grip on my hand reassuringly as he calmly opened the door and pulled me out with him.
We walked down the corridor quickly I checked behind expecting to see someone following.
"Hey you" a gruff voice yelled behind us "Found t-" I looked behind us just as the wind sliced through him cutting his words off.
"Kazuma!" I yelled as we were surrounded by the wind.
Kazuma POV:
I concentrated on the wind whipping around us I could still hear the shouts from the floor above as the wind transported us to the ground floor.
"Kazuma" I heard her whimper against my jacket.
"I'm sorry princess" I stopped and placed her on the floor again. Although we were still only on the 2ND floor after coming from the eleventh I figured she could handle the rest of the way on her own.
"Ayano run!" I said pushing her away urging her to run. She nodded slightly before turning back to face me.
"Kazuma" she called running back to me. "I love you" she whispered pulling me down slightly so I was at her height. I felt her lips touch mine and her hand move to my shoulder to keep me in place, I returned the kiss placing my hand on her hip and the other on her cheek.
I pulled away when I heard the thudding of feet coming closer. "Be careful princess" I said smiling at her.
"Don't worry I will" she smiled at me reassuringly for a moment before running down the stairs.
"Hey you, STOP!" I heard someone yell.
"I already have in case you didn't notice" I smirked.
"Kazuma yagami we demand that you a lower level magic user hand over the subject and Ayano Kannagi" the first man ordered me "or else we'll be forced to injure you"
"You forgot to say please" I sighed as the wind slashed through him.
"You bastard" the other one growled. "Hand over Ayano Kannagi and the subject-ah"
My hand clasped around his neck levitating his body off the ground. He chocked and clawed at my hand attempting to get free.
"Stop saying that her name is Ayano Kannagi, her name is Ayano yagami and that 'subject' is my unborn child" I growled dropping him to the floor where he lay motionless.
Ayano POV:
I walked through the lobby trying to go unnoticed by the vast majority of people who were in the room. I had pulled my hood up to cover up my crimson hair as I slipped through, going unnoticed until somebody caught my arm I tried to release my arm from the grip but it was to strong and without the fire spirits I couldn't defend myself.
"Mrs Yagami" the voice said in a hushed tone. I turned to face the person who was in fact the older footman Yohachi Yamato who had always been very kind to me since I'd moved here pulled me behind the pillar he was standing behind.
"Mrs Yagami, we don't have very long before Kannagi agents swarm this entire hotel. In the basement of this hotel there is the car-park-" he spoke quickly
"I know that"
"Good, in that car-park there is your car isn't there?"
"Yes"
"Don't go anywhere near it, they'll be surrounding it and its also Kannagi car meaning it has trackers" he looked behind himself to see if any one was coming. "Instead take the white land rover with the numberplate 00I RULE*" he pressed something metallic into my hand. "These are the keys, now run... and wait for Kazuma"
"Thank you" I said placing the keys in my pocket.
"Take care of your self and child" he whispered bowing slightly before walking away from the pillar calmly.
I breathed in trying to keep my heart rate steady and stop my self from becoming terrified "Bear with me a moment" I spoke to my bump pulling the coat over it even further trying to hide and protect it. I looked over to the group of Kannagi's that was growing bigger by the minute "It's no good I'm going to have to get out of here soon or else there going to find me in a matter of minutes and Kazuma still hasn't shown up... I'm just going to have to take the risk of getting found it's better than just staying here" I decided, slipping round the corner I ran slightly in my wedges until I reached the door to the car park.
I punched the correct sequence of numbers into the pad beside the door, it beeped signalling it was unlocked, pulling on the door I slipped out into the cold air of the car-park. Luckily there was nobody in sight I breathed a sigh of relief before digging the keys out of my pocket.
"White land rover" I said to myself repeating it over and over again. "Where is it?" I asked myself stressing slighting.
"AH HA!" I yelled pointing my finger at the brand new land rover that just sat there, not a speck of dust or dirt on the spotless white paint. "My husband is soooo not poverty" I grumbled to my self
"HEY YOU!" I heard a voice yell behind me, I bit my lip trying to figure out what to do. "Ayano Kannagi you are under arrest for disobeying our family laws" I recognised the voice as one of the branch family members who used to try and flirt with me before I met Kazuma.
"Ayano Yagami" I muttered under my breath
"TURN AROUND YOU FILTHY FUCKING KANNAGI, YOU TRAITORING BITCH" he screamed his voice echoing off the walls, I winced, the sound hurt my ears "YOU BETRAYED OUR FAMILY WHEN YOU MARRIED THAT MUDERER YAGAMI, HE'S NOTHING MORE THAN A USELESS BAG OF SHIT THAT CANT LEARN THE SUPERIOR MAGIC SO GO'S OFF AND LEARNS THE INFERIOR... he's pathetic" his last words stung me particularly.
"Kazuma is anything but pathetic" I spat my voice shaking slightly.
"Oh shut up Kannagi Ayano and no harm will come to you or your little baby" he threatened
"Did you know that when marry someone you take there last name. So let's get this crystal clear. I'm. A. Yagami. Not. A. Kannagi. Listen. Ayano Yagami. My child's birth certificate will have 'whatever' Yagami not Kannagi. I'm a Yagami and I'm happy to be one, no scratch that I'm proud to be one" I explained clearly as though speaking to a child. I faced him growling 'don't back down Ayano, don't back down' I repeated the mantra in my head.
"HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT YOU LITTLE SLUT" he advanced on me, grabbing my body in a vice like grip "you dirty cow you allowed yourself to get impregnated by that scum... when I could've done it so much better myself made you scream my name" he whispered in my ear.
"Get off me f-freak" I stuttered petrified, trying to push him away.
"I'll do it to you right now, shall I?" he bit my ear viciously.
"OW" I yelped forcing my knee up so it made contact with his manly 'parts' making him cry out in pain and take a step back I ran round the other end of the car my body shaking and my vision so blurred with tears that I could barely walk let alone run, stumbling occasionally.
"you bitch" he growled grabbing hold of my hair and dragging it up, through the tear blinded vision I could just about make out a fist. I closed my eyes waiting for the impact, I could feel something building up around my body. When no impact came I opened my eyes, shocked to see his fist stopped in mid air it was like some invisible force had stopped it, that was when I realised the wind barrier.
"Kazuma" I called out hopefully.
"Ayano!" I heard his breathless call and the sound of his footsteps thudding along the concrete.
"Get away from her bastard" I felt the grip on my hair go completely and then the sickening sound of a head hitting the concrete. I dried my tears looking up to see Kazuma's chest heaving and the crazy maniacal look in his eyes.
"Kazuma" I whimpered lifting my hand so it intertwined with his.
"Ayano...Ayano" he lifted me up gently and pulled me into a hug.
"You. Should. Have. Run. Faster." he said in between kissing every inch of my face.
"I tried" I sniffed loudly
"I know you did" he cupped my cheeks kissing me on the nose "Now Ayano tell me. How did you use wind magic?"
