Chapter 5

A week has passed by quickly for the inu taichi. Everything was going according to plan… and some not.. Kagome was grinning mischievously at her eldest pup and the Lord of the Western lands. They were bound to each other due to her sealing magic.

What they weren't aware of her was that the seal would be released once the "lovers" have stopped "quarreling". But they don't need to know that seeing that they have come to enjoy each other's company.

Will you not regret this decision Kagome? Having your pup soon mated to the one you gave your heart to in a different lifetime?

I regret nothing Touga. I have a feeling that Sesshy is just not my soul mate regardless which dimension I go. And with Shippo as a female, Sesshomaru has learned to mellow down drastically in this past week.

Hn. If it is not meant to be in this lifetime and others, perhaps he really isn't your soul mate.

Kagome smiled softly as the deep and sultry voice of the Inu no Taisho retreated deep into her mind to rest where the other contracted souls reside within her.

A sudden memory of a blonde with green eyes flashed through her mind and a lone tear slither down her cheek.

Catching the scent of salt, Shippo and Naru turned their attention to their mother. Knowing full well who she was thinking of. Laxus otou-sama.

Kagome watched amusingly as Naruko beat Inuyasha once again at killing the demon with a shard embedded in its neck.

"HAH! I BEAT YOU AGAIN DOG BREATH!" Naru plucked the jewel that were in a pile of demon ashes and placed it in her mother's hand and watched awed as every time it would instantly turn pink.

"Keh! I let you beat me wench!" came Inubaka's normal reply. Usually this sentence would be taken lightly as it was just Inuyasha being Inuyasha. However today was his unlucky day as a portal in the sky twisted black and ripped open.

The sand around Inuyasha swirled dangerously at his feet. The hanyou looked confused as Naruko paled slightly.

When they looked up to the portal, a male with red hair, pale skin and a dark outlined pair of eyes and the kanji for Love on his forehead stepped out from the black rip. He was wearing his signature red and black outfit with his gourd strapped on his back and a transparent katana hanging loosely on his hip.

"What… Did you call my mate?" he hissed dangerously at Inuyasha who had the urge to suppress a shiver at the way the male spoke to him that promised death.

Immediately as he stepped out, Naruko jumped onto his person and hugged him tightly. "Gaara! I missed you so much mate!" she whined lightly, nuzzling him, taking in his scent with each heavy intake of breath.

Almost immediately, the killer intent he let out disappeared as he wrapped his arms around the blonde and kissed her passionately and deeply, disregarding the audience.

Sango blushed madly as Miroku wolf whistled and wiggled his eyebrows at Sango which earned him a smack. Shippo grinned at her sister and mate as Sesshomaru wrapped his tail protectively around Shippo with his brow raised elegantly. Though he said nothing, his eyes displayed amusement and curiousity that only Kagome saw.

Inuyasha's jaw was hanging loosely as he watched the public display of affection the two were giving before his brain registered what they were doing and he looked away, blushing madly.

Jaken had covered Rin's eyes and pulled her away to sit next to AhUn where her eyes were shielded from adult scenes.

After giving them their moment, Kagome decided it was best to stop them before they mated in front of them.

She cleared her throat loudly before leaking her youki towards her pups, successfully gaining their attention.

Naru blushed lightly as Gaara put on a small smirk before wrapping his arms around his mate and walked towards Kagome who was waiting patiently for them.

Gaara bowed lightly at his mother-in-law and greeted her respectfully, "It has been a long time Mother. How have you been?" he smiled at her sincerely.

This was the woman who showed him motherly love that he lacked. She was the only woman beside his mate that had made a big impression in his life. Well three considering that his former brother-in-law is now a woman not a male.

Kagome smiled lovingly at her son before pulling him into a motherly embrace. "I've been well Gaara. It is nice to see you again my son. Come now, greet your sister." She grinned and pointed her thumb to Shippo was still wrapped in Sesshomaru's mokomoko-sama.

Gaara raised a brow (a/n:he has none I know but just imagine it kay lol) at Shippo who was blushing slightly before nodding her head at him in acknowledgement and grinned at him.

He too returned the grin with a smirk of his own which promised future blackmail.

"Ok! WHO THE HECK IS HE?!" Inuyasha yelled exasperatedly. Sango and Miroku too nodded their head.

Naru smiled at them happily and introductions were made.

"Wow… who would have thought bubbly Naru-chan is mated" Sango said happily.

As the day settled to night, Gaara turned his attention to the Alpha of the pack. "Okaa-san, what is the progress of the upcoming battle?" the cheery atmosphere suddenly tensed at the simple question. Nonetheless, Kagome answered with a smile.

"We have all the shards minus the ones in Naraku's hands. We will rest fully for the next few days and hone our skills to the fullest for the coming week. When the week ends, the battle shall commence." She stated.

Gaara nodded his head at her answer and scanned his calculative eyes at the inu taichi, understanding the hidden meaning behind her words.

They must be trained or they will die.

Gaara took in their physical traits and scowled lightly. The only one in the group which does not need training is Sesshomaru. Inuyasha has the strength and raw power. But he lacks the skills and brain for it. He will need harsh training. One he knows the elder Taishou will take into his own hands.

The monk and tajiya will need the most training. Along with the kappa and dragon if their lord would want them to keep the child safe from harm.

The monk will have to be trained by his mate due to their traits of magic and seals interest. The tajiya will be trained by Shippo due to-

Pup!

The voice of his mother called him, he answered mentally.

Yes mother?

Magic and seals will be taught by me. you, Shippo and Naru will focus on their physical training, enhance their battle prowess. I will harvest the reishi within the monk and tajiya.

Tajiya? Mother, she is a demon slayer not a monk. They do not contain any sort of magic.

They do. I will teach them the art of demon slayers. It is a long forgotten art in this world. But the magic still exists. I will train them with it.

Understood.

He would never question her actions a second time. Kagome is a powerful being to ever roam the land and dimensions. If she says her way is right, then by all means she is right. He nodded once more to his mother in law and moved to sleep next to his mate.

Tomorrow shall be hell for the inu taichi. He let his senses roam one last time and took note of the power sleeping in the child's body.

Mother will see to it that the child shall be able to protect herself should her guardians be away.

With that thought, he fell asleep next to his mate.
