Timmy opened his eyes and blinked. He had no idea where he was. The last thing he remembered was pulling the sword from the pedestal. After that was just fuzzy. He sat up slowly, holding his head and pushing up his glasses. Or, he would have, had he been wearing some. Even though he was no longer wearing glasses, he could see clearly. Was this some kind of dream?
"Hey! Lazybones finally woke up!" Stella's voice rang through the strange, glowing room. She smiled warmly and perched on his nose. "You slept for a really long time, Timmy!" she alerted him.
A really long time? How long had he been asleep?
"Hero of Legend, come forth and embrace your destiny..." a deep voice said as a short, silver-haired man carrying a staff appeared out of seemingly nowhere to greet him. "Young Timothy, you have just awoken from a seven year slumber, intended to prepare you for your journey ahead. Take up the sword, Hero of Legend. With it, vanquish the evil Lord Valtor and save Hyrule," the man commanded him.
"This guy's Saladin!" Stella said excitedly. "He's a sage from the Company of Light! And we called him-"
"The Sage of Time," Saladin finished, helping Timmy to his feet. "And you are the Hero of Time who survived a seven year sleep in order to restore peace to our land. You have matured enough to use the Master Sword. It is a magical blade formed by the goddesses themselves for the heroes of the land," he told Timmy. "That will be your new sword that you will use to save us all."
That was a lot to take in. Hero of legend? Save Hyrule? Timmy had known from the get-go that he wasn't cut out to be a hero. The only reason he had gone on this mission is because Tecna asked him to. Speaking of Tecna, the last time he saw her, she was being chased by Lord Valtor. He had no idea if she was even alive or not.
"What are you waiting for?" Saladin asked, pushing Timmy to the middle of the strange room. "It is time! You have rested for seven years to fulfill your destiny!"
Timmy stopped in the middle of the glowing room and was enveloped in white light before he found himself back in the Temple of Time. What? Where was he before?
"Welcome back, Hero," a feminine voice said from the entrance to the sword's chamber. "You have returned from Realix and will now be able to bring peace to the land," she continued, walking in and revealing herself to him. He had never seen her before. She had bright wings and wore lavender clothes, and her hair was purple and blonde. "My name is Lithia, and I am here to guide you in your quest," she told him, stepping closer to stand eye to eye with him.
Timmy blinked. Something in the way she addressed him was familiar. Maybe it was her almost robotic speech pattern, or maybe it was her sparkling teal eyes. Whatever the case, she closed her eyes soon after and looked away. "A great evil is plaguing our land, and you have to be the one to remove it. There are temples spread out over Hyrule. Every single one has been overridden. There are guardian fairies and other heroes trying to hold off the destruction, but they will not last much longer. You must save them and bring them here," she commanded before stepping back. "Use your instinct and help those in need. I will meet you at the entrance to the first temple," she said before yelling "Zoomix!" and disappearing in a surge of green light.
"Wow Timmy..." Stella breathed as the earth fairy left. "You have a ginormous job ahead of you!"
Timmy nodded. He had a huge responsibility now, and as much as he didn't want to, he had to accept his new duty. He had to save the kingdom of Hyrule. Adjusting his shield on his back and taking the Master Sword in his hand, Timmy strode out of the Temple of Time. He didn't know where he was going to go, but he trusted what the mysterious Lithia told him. He figured he would know where to go by instinct. Instinct alone didn't prepare him for the sight of the Market.
"What on earth are those monsters? Gross!" Stella shrieked and hid underneath Timmy's hat. Timmy himself was stunned. The lovely people of Hyrule Market were gone, and in their place were horrid monsters, all with a symbol on their necks. "I don't know what those things want, but I think it's best if we get out of here!" she yelped, pushing Timmy past the lumbering monsters and out through the broken drawbridge.
Timmy looked up at the sky. Over the market, the sky was black as death, but as he moved farther out into the field, the sky returned to its normal blue color. Lithia said use intuition, but he had no idea where to go. All of a sudden, his stomach growled. "Didn't you eat anything in your seven years of sleep?" Stella asked, annoyed. Now that he thought about it, Timmy figured he probably hadn't eaten or drank anything in seven years. Maybe it would be in his best interest to get something to fill his stomach. He saw the sign for Lon Lon Ranch ahead. There was good food and drinks there. He decided to hear over and ask for something to eat. When he arrived, he did not expect to see the sight he did. The place was run down with cuccos scurrying around everywhere, and the person standing in the middle of everything looked distraught and utterly hopeless.
Stella peeked out from Timmy's hat, and her eyes widened. "Roxy?"
