Baxter Building, Manhattan: 07:49 p.m.

Palleon stepped off the teleportation platform, and onto the steel flooring of Reed Richards' lab. Cody and Rex were still a little disoriented from the jump. When they regained their posture, they followed Palleon out of the lab, and down the stairs of the giant building.

"Hopefully, we don't run into any more unwanted surpr-" Palleon stopped cold when he reached the lobby.

Hundreds of people were bustling around, doing various things from watching TV to drawing architectural designs. Palleon fled and hid behind the nearest corner as did Cody and Rex. Cody looked at Palleon.

"You think they're with the guys who attacked you?"

Palleon looked around. "They look plain enough, but be cautious."

The three holstered their weapons, and walked normally out into the crowd.

"Sir," Said a design officer who walked up to the man behind the security desk. "Can I see those security tapes. Head of Department wants to see 'em."

"Sure, hold on. Gotta make sure they're current." Said the cop, walking to the monitor.

He flipped a switch on the screen and typed in the most recent date. When the screen cleared up, the Reed Richards attack popped up on stage!

"What the-?" The cop said. "Security, we know who attacked Reed Richards! Wearing a uniform of some type, dark green, a hat of the same color! Find him!"

Palleon heard some stirring in the crowd.

"What's wrong? What's going on?" Palleon asked Rex.

Rex looked around. What he saw caused him to pull his blaster rifle and fire!

Cody, Palleon, and everyone else dropped to the floor, people were screaming, some were scrambling for the nearest exit. Palleon turned to see Rex shooting his rifle's red lasers into a squad of nearly thirteen security gaurds!

"REX!" Palleon shouted over the SHEEW! Of the laserfire and the BAM! Of the security gaurds .45 Magnums. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

"They had their weapons pointed at us!" Rex shouted back. "I merely tried to protect y-"

He was cut off by several loud BANG!s and shivered violently! He fell forward onto the polished stone floor of the lobby, his one weak point in the armour, the neck, spraying blood all over the now dirty and gorey floor!

Palleon could only stare at one of his best soldier's dead bodies! Commander Cody on the other hand, drew his fletchet shotgun with a roar of anguish and fired off three rounds into the cops! The one in lead was obliterated in a bloody mess of tendons, organs, and bone from the chest up! The two behind him lost their right and left arms respectively, and a fourth one behind them took a round straight through his chest, leaving a gorey, gapping hole were the heart and lungs used to be!

Palleon snapped out of his horrific trance, and pulled on Cody's shoulder as he reloaded his gun of obliteration!

"Cody!" Palleon yelled over his ringing ears. "Let's go! We have no time to waste here!"

Cody pulled away from him, still screaming in denial over his friend's death, but before he could even pull the trigger, a red and blue blur swung in out of nowhere, knocking the gun out of his hands, and throwing him back into a stone pillar, which shattered slightly on impact!

Palleon tried to run. He hadn't come this far just to be taken down this soon! But the creature caught up to him, landing in front of him, blocking his exit, winding up for a punch! The last thing Palleon saw before blacking out was the big white eyes, and the small black spider emblem on the humanoids chest.

Spider-man stood over the two he had just knocked out, as the cops surrounded them, guns drawn and aimed at all their vital spots. The lead officer walked over to Spidey.

"Hey, I thought you were an unregistered super?" He said.

Spider-man smacked his head. "Dude, that all stopped the day Cap came back, remember?"

The officer looked blank for a second, then seemed to remember, as he blushed a little, embarrassed at not remembering such a crucial fact.

"So, uh, why are you here. Not to sound ungrateful, or anything." The officer asked.

"I was swinging outside, and heard the shotgun going off. Sorry about your men by the way." Spider-man said, very sincerely.

"It's alright. But you know, they killed cops so-"

Iron Man, Thor, and Ms. Marvel landed in front of the building, the Quinjet hovered above them, as Captain America, Wolverine, and Nick Fury jumped down from it.

"-hand them over to the Avengers for questioning." The officer finished nervously.

"Thanks for your help, Peter, but we'll take it from here." Iron Man said, walking past Spidey with the rest of them.

"Hey, don't forget I used to be an Avenger!" Spider-man shouted, irritated.

Iron Man turned towards him. His metal mask impossible to read, blocking all emotional expressions. "The keyword is "used to be"".

Spider-man nearly launched himself at Iron Man. The man had done so much wrong to everyone!

Cap put a hand on Spidey's shoulder. "Don't worry about it Peter. We haven't forgotten what you've done for this great country."

"How can you forgive someone like him! You were killed because of a war he started!"

Cap looked sad. "Live and let die, son. Live and let die."

Iron Man and Nick Fury stood over Palleon's unconcious form. Both of them reached for their communicators to give directions, and Iron Man gave him a look which couldn't be seen under his mask.

Fury turned his off. "Sorry," He said. "Old habits die hard."

Iron Man took that as an apology, and flicked his on. "S.H.I.E.L.D. Hellicarrier, this is Director Tony Stark. Need you at these coordinates, ASAP."

He flicked it off and examined Palleon some more. Then he noticed the blaster pistol. He flicked his communicator back on.

"And bring Dr. Stephen Strange with you." He said into it.

Spider-man stood looking at Palleon himself. He had never seen a uniform like that before. The guy looked like a high ranking officer of some type of military. Wolverine stood beside him.

"They don't smell right..." He grunted.

Spider-man looked at him. "What do you mean?"

"Their scent." The mutant brawler continued. "It's unlike anything I've ever smelled before."

"Doesn't everybody have their own unique scent, though?" Spidey asked.

Wolverine nodded curtly. "Yeah, but there's somethin' totally different about these guy's scents. I can't exactly explain it."

Spider-man left it at that and swung off on his organic web shooters. He thought to himself how odd it was that so many Avengers wanted these guys so bad.

Mustafar: Arctic Magma Conversion Plant: 09:00 p.m.

Doom continued to log through all the data on the main motherboard, downloading it into his armour. Force Susan stood over the dead, touching their heads and gently pulling away. Then as if holding some invisible dust, she blew into her hand as if to blow it into the air. Doom took notice of this odd behavior.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Releasing their souls into myself, so they can live on forever without any pain." She told him plainly.

Doom shrugged as if to blow it off and continued to download data. What Doom was unaware of however, was the Stormtroopers he had frozen earlier were beginning to thaw out!
