Coruscant: Wlakway 208
Thor and Thing continued to smash and crush everything in their path. The beasts were getting smaller, and smaller.
"Doth my eyes and ears decieve me, or does it seem as if these creatures are yielding?" Thor asked.
Thing seemed to notice as well. There was something up.
"Keep your guard up, man." He said, surveying the area. "It's only the calm before the storm."
"Indeed!" Ghost Rider said, walking up behind them, dragging a dead stormtrooper behind him with his chain.
Thing and Thor turned to talk to the flaming skeleton. Ghost Rider looked at the creatures they had killed.
"So, how many did each of you get?" He asked.
"I have smitten 479 creatures!" Thor announced happily.
"I got 503. Beat ya." Thing chuckled.
"I've got you both beat." Ghost Rider laughed. "I've sent 1,297 souls to their deatths."
Thor smiled brightly. "Hmmm...you may be a demon, Rider, but you are defenitly a reliable friend!"
They seemed to have a moment of true happiness joking around there, but then realized the creatures had stopped coming. The skies were clear once again.
"Will ya look at that." Thing said. "Guess that really was it."
But he had spoken too soon. As he finished the statement, a thousand tiny dots started to appear in the sky. Soon, their numbers blocked out the sky!
"Oh my 'lanta." Thing murmered, his jaw hanging open.
"Hold firm, friends!" Thor shouted. "We can defeat them!"
Ghost Rider whipped his chain and sent the dead trooper flying off the edge of the walkway.
"This is gonna hurt." He cackled.
Dantooine: Jedi Enclave Lunchroom
"...and that's how I defeated the Emperor, and saved my father from the Dark Side." Luke finished, shoving a spoon of exotic alien grub in his mouth.
Doom was genuinely awestruck. Never had Doom heard such a riveting tale of heroics, even Reed Richards could not be so heroic!
"That is very impressive, Luke." Doom said. "I'm impressed."
"Well, I don't mean to brag." Luke laughed.
Doom chuckled heartily. He had never had such a good time with a friend. The food was not bad, either. Weird looking, and some of it moved, but it still tasted just exquisite.
Force Susan walked into the room, her colorful eyes glowing beautifully. Doom watched her walk gracefully in, her hips swaying from side to side with every step she took.
"Ah, what a beautiful sight to see." Doom called out to her. "Come join us."
She stood beside Doom, a small, almost phantismal face of sadness on her face.
"We must speak." She said. "Alone."
Luke without saying a word left the room, closing the door behind him. Doom looked at Force Susan suspiciously.
"What is the meaning of this, dearest." He asked her, touching her chin.
She quickly moved away, pure sadness playing across her mortal bodies features once again. She moved his hand away, and looked at him.
"We cannot be together." She said plainly.
Doom looked back quizzical. "What are you talking about? Why not?"
"I should not be in love with you. I am a living force, I have no emotion." She said. "And when you go back to your world with your friend...I shall not be able to follow."
Doom was taken aback. "I do not understand..."
But she ran away, leaving Doom standing alone in the empty lunchroom.
Coruscant: Walkway 208
Thor, Thing, and Ghost Rider were being totally overwhelmed. The ones they defeated turned to dust, but more just came to take their place. They were srtonger and faster than the beasts and troopers, and much more deadly.
Ghost Rider's chain wrapped around one that looked like a Jedi and pulled him towards him, and prepared to punch his face, but saw it's eyes. The were blank, white and dead. Zombies.
He finished off the jedi with his attack and turned to Thor and Thing.
"Hey, guys, these are dead guys. We can't win if we stay here! We gotta move!" He yelled.
"Not even in Niffleheim have I seen such ghoulish creatures!" Thor commented.
"How do you propose we retreat, eh?" Thing yelled out, punching a mandalorian off the side of the walkway.
Ghost Rider held out his hand and summoned forth his Hellbike. He then clenched his fist and the seat elongated.
"Come on, let's get a move on!" He said, getting on the flaming cycle.
Thing and Thor did as he said, and hopped on behind him. The Hellbike revved up and took off, leaving flametrails in it's wake.
Thing looked back to see several jedi and sith chasing after them on foot, and keeping up!
"Hey, Rider," He called out. "can't this thing go any faster?"
"Sorry, any faster and you'll die." Blaze said.
He steared the bike off the platform and onto a lower landing pad, then off the edge onto another walkway, speeding along at 270 miles-per-hour! The Jedi and Sith keeping perfect tempo on foot.
Ghost Rider caught a glimpse of a TIE Fighter, and threw his chain at it.
"Hold on boys!" He yelled.
The bike was yanked off the the walkway, flying through the air connected to the TIE! Thing was screaming at the top of his lungs!
The TIE pilot must have felt the yank, because almost immediately he tried to shake them off. Barrel rolling through two skyscrapers, he twisted the bike through them as well, straining Ghost Rider's grip on the chain! The pilot abruptly turned upwards towards space and kept going that direction, all the while, the Rider held on!
They kept on ascending and saw the skyline start to fade to black. They were close to space, the only option was to let go! They were well over 50,000 feet, and Thing and Thor had already passed out! Ghost Rider pulled the chain back, ripping the wing off the TIE, sending it spiraling! He quickly wrapped it around himself and his friends, tieing it to the bike's handlebars!
They started descending at extremely high speeds, the city becoming bigger and bigger as they neared the tops of the scrapers. If Blaze didn't find something to land on, they would hit the ground before long and really die!
Then he saw them...the jedi and sith wall jumping up the scrapers to combat them mid fall!
"SHIT!" Ghost Rider yelled out, yanking up on the handlebars, making the bike roll over in a wheelie like fashion through the air. Two of the jedi lunged for the trio, but the bike moved just before their lightsaber's connected, and caused them to stab each other, their dust falling through the air back down. The others took noticeof this and tried to devise a higher tactic for stopping them!
One sith jumped above them as they passed the skyscraper's top limits, bringing his lightsaber into a pouncing attack position. Ghost Rider opened his mouth towards the sith and spit hellfire from it, burning the sith to cinders!
The others still pursued, unfazed by their companion's deaths. Blaze saw a small balcony, and landed on that, then jumped the bike down to a walkway 20 feet down, then when he landed, he took off as fast as the bike could go without killing his friends!
Coruscant: Lower City
Wolverine tended to Mothma and Garm's injuries, doing what he could with his limited medical experience.
"I think that should do it." He said, getting up finally.
Leia saw him, and noticed there were no scrates, scars or any thing on his body, yet his clothes were tattered horribly.
"Are you...invincible?" She asked him.
Wolverine turned to look at her, pulling another cigar out of his ripped jacket. He chopped the end with his middle claw on his right hand, and lit it with his army lighter. He then sat down next to Leia, and stabbed himself in the arm!
Leia gasped, and blood ran from the wound. He pulled the claws out and the wounds healed instantly. Leia saw this, and stood amazed. Not even healing through the Force was that efficient!
"See, lady," Logan started. "I'm a mutant. I've lived long enough to know that for a fact. I heal so fast, I almost don't age. I also have suffered injuries most would have died from."
Leia looked at the dead krayt dragon. The claws had done much more than cut..they had shredded it's hide and horns!
"What are those claws of yours made of?" She asked.
"Adamantium." He said simply.
"What?" Leia asked, apparently unfamiliar with the metal.
"It's the third strongest metal on my world, Earth." He said. "Cuts through anything 'cept the other two above it, Vibranium and Uru. And it's indestructible."
Leia was unaware that such power was possible. "Why aren't all people from Earth like you?"
Wolverine chuckled. "Our planet is unique. Not one person is the same as another in more than a few aspects."
"Are there others with some of your aspects?" She asked.
"Yeah, some have similar powers to me. X-23, Sabertooth...and my son, Daken." Logan said.
"Is your son as tough as you? I'm sure you taught him well." She said.
Wolverine looked at his claws. "No...I never knew he existed until recently...he has been trying to kill me for his entire life, but only now has he made his moves."
Leia was taken aback. "Your son betrayed you? He never knew you and just hated you?"
"That's right. He blames me for his mom's death, and that I was never there for him." Wolverine said. "Damn, even the Hulk trained his kid better. He has a son that loves him..but not me..the real monster!"
Leia saw that this man really had more than a little weight on his shoulders.
"I couldn't save my friends, and I couldn't save my son, and I can only save myself..."
