Tsunade and Kakashi strolled lazily around the Hidden Leaf, with Suigetsu in tow. Tsunade spouted facts every now and then but Suigetsu but he didn't really care, he was spending more time looking at the sky and realising this was his home now. An actual home. The only other time he had somewhere like ths was in the Hidden Mist, and God knows that the Hidden Leaf is a massive improvement. All around he saw happy faces, and sunshine, and he realised this place had something special about it. Something… happy. And then he thought about Sasuke, and how he lived his life.
Suigetsu finally understood Sasuke. For a moment the clarity was astonishing. He thought of how nurturing and loving a place the Hidden Leaf was, and how Sasuke was so twisted that he couldn't recognise any of it. And for a moment, for possibly the first moment of his life, Suigetsu felt pity - true honest pity for another human being.
He shook his head, shaking away the trail of thought like a dog shakes away water, just as Tsunade turned. "I'm afraid I have business to attend to so Kakashi will have to take you for the rest of our little tour, then I'll give you a week before assigning you and Sasuke a squad and missions. Just so you can get used to your new comrades, if you need anything I will be in my office or at the hospital. And for the love of God don't cause too much trouble." With that Tsunade walked away, leaving Suigetsu with the mysterious masked leaf ninja.
"So Suigetsu," said Kakashi seemingly happy, but his tone of voice was still so vague that no real emotion could be gained from it "I'm going to assume that neither of us paid any attention to Lady Tsunade right up until this very moment?"
Suigetsu smirked, and took a couple of steps to be side by side with Kakashi. "I've hear a lot about you, from reports and such," the masked man continued "and I know specifically that a tour is the last thing you want right now."
Suigetsu looked Kakashi in the eyes "Well as much as I may be loving how great my new home is… I think there's something I should tell you."
Kakashi raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? And what would that be?"
Suigetsu smirked devilishly again "Did you know Sasuke talks in his sleep?"
The bewildered look in Kakashi's eyes was all Suigetsu needed as a response. "Did you know that he would only ever say three names? The first being Itachi's, the second being Naruto's and the last being Kakashi."
Kakashi raised an eyebrow, almost amazed by this fact. "Now though I would never ask why," Suigetsu continued "I did ask what he thought of you. He spoke highly, praised you as one of the most ingenious ninja of the current time, which leads me to ask one thing." Suigetsu paused for a moment, taking a second to look deeply into Kakashi's scarred eye. "When will I get to find this out for myself?
Sasuke had spent the day looking out the window of his new apartment, it was big enough, two bedrooms with a living space and kitchen combined, not to bad, and had a good view over Konoha. Things had changed so little and yet so much since the last time he had been here, and taken in the sights. The addition of Tsunade's head to the stone monument to the Hokage's was the most standout addition to the backdrop Konoha, Her stern face gazing into the distance.
But then there were all the faces, some new, some old, all different from last he had seen them. Something's never changed however, and from his apartment he could see right into Ichiraku from which Naruto was emerging, as ever, from taking in half of his daily ramen. Sasuke nearly smiled, but he just couldn't find it in himself.
It was just as he was about to take a seat at his small kitchen table that he heard a ruckus coming from outside his apartment. Suddenly there were three loud, rapid bangs on his door, as he heard some shouting and struggling from outside. He opened the door to find Kiba, kicking Choji off of him and then standing to come toe to toe with the black haired Uchiha.
"You bastard," said Kiba quietly before he dove at Sasuke "you bastard!" Kiba screamed as he pinned Sasuke to the wall. "Do you know what you leaving did to everyone?" Kiba screamed in Sasuke's face "Do you know what it did to Naruto, and Sakura?" Kiba lifted his arm back to throw a punch, but then felt a firm grip on his wrist. He turned to find Sasuke standing behind him. And then he felt the Sasuke he held in his left hand disappear with a poof. Kiba glared into Sasuke's deep, dark, unmoved eyes. "Frankly Kiba, I don't care. I did what I did for me. Not Naruto or Sakura. What they experienced as a result is none of my concern." Sasuke pushed Kiba into the hall, standing firm in his doorway. "I won't apologise to you, or to anyone else. I don't need to justify my actions to any of you. What matters is I'm back."
Kiba continued to glare "Yeah?" he said firmly "Well honestly, you could act like you're happy about it, you ungrateful prick." Kiba stood up and dusted himself off before storming away. Choji followed in quick pursuit muttering "Nice to see you too Sasuke" under his breath. It was as Sasuke went to close his door that he was surprised. Out of nowhere Shikamaru had appeared and placed his foot between the door and the frame. "Mind if I come in?"
CLIFFHANGERS BITCHES. So yeah. I lied when I said soon. In fact, never take my word on soon. It will inevitably be a lie. Just trust that eventually things will happen with me. I was going to include these next two things in this chapter but I decided "Meh why not make two chapters of it" SO I DID
