Orbit above Coruscant: Jedi Shuttle
Luke sat down to pull the ship out of hyperspace. Doom came to and sat next to him in the co-pilot's seat, wiping sweat from his brow. Luke looked at the tortured soul. He knew Doom had never known love like he was now. This woman, possessed by the Force was his life. Actually, it wasn't even the woman...it was the Force itself Doom was in love with. Something beyond a physical form, something he could never truly touch. Something he'd never truly see. It must tear him up inside. And now...
Luke perished the thought. His mind had to be set on other things As his fingers ran across the dashboard of the shuttle, pressing buttons and pulling levers that would end the dimensional travel, he felt something odd. He felt empty. Unaware. Something was obviously wrong here.
Doom noticed Luke's troubled expression, but before he could say anything, they exited hyperspace into a frenzy.
X-wings and Y-wings dogfought against TIE Fighters and TIE Bombers. Explosions echoed all around the vessel as it slowed in speed considerably.
Luke looked absolutely shocked.
"I should have felt this before we exited hyperspace..." He mumbled.
"Worry about it later. We have incoming!" Doom said, taking the controls from a paralyzed Luke.
A squadron of TIE's had spotted the Jedi Shuttle and formed an attack. Doom banked a hard left, dodging a volley of green laser fire from the incoming ships. They reacted slowly, following the turn with a sloppy group u-turn. As they regained their formation, Doom turned the shuttle around in a fancy flipping motion. He looked for a trigger, and found nothing. He looked at Luke in frustration.
"Where are the weapon systems?" He yelled.
Luke snapped out of his shock, and said, "There are no weapons on board."
Doom rolled his eyes and banked again. The TIE's let loose another volley of lasers, and increased their forward momentum.
"We need to head for the planet. Perhaps we can find refuge." Luke advised.
"I don't think so." Doom answered. "I get the feeling it's even worse down there."
"Any suggestions?" Luke asked.
Doom reached out with his mind. He searched the area, and found a point of immense power.
"No..." He mumbled. "The Infinity Gauntlet!"
"What?" Luke grunted as the shuttle buckled from enemy fire.
"A weapon of unlimited power from my universe." Doom explained. "It contains the power to alter reality itself!"
"That must have been what I sensed tearing the Force asunder..." Luke realized.
"Possibly." Doom answered again.
He then banked another hard turn and barely missed another attack.
Coruscant: Destroyed Landing Pad
Thor bellowed another cry of rage that shook the heavens. Mjolnir smashed Starkiller's wrist, shattering it and causing him to lose one of his lightsabers.
The zombie grunted angrily, unable to comprehend what was happening. Thor swung again and smacked him into the air, then called down a bolt of lightning that nearly incinirated Starkiller.
As the charred body hit the ground, missing his legs and one arm, and half of his face, he looked at the thunder god with fear in his one remaining eye.
Thor raised his mystical hammer high and brought it down on him hard.
"For Coruscant!" He yelled.
The impact shattered the plasteel walkway, making it crumble into the lower city, taking the dead zombie with it. Thor hovered above the chasm, tears flowing down his face for the friends he had seen killed.
Coruscant: Jedi Temple
Thing finally set Torch and Garm down gently near the fountain in the center of the massive hall. Leia saw to Mothma's wounds, examining for infection. She attempted to use the Force to heal her...nothing happened.
"What-?" She said.
Thing walked over, noticing her stress rising. "What's up?"
"The Force...I can't feel it anymore..." Leia said, shock playing across her face.
She felt empty inside. Like something had been ripped out of her.
Thing caught her as she fell backwards, nearly paralyzed with shock. He saw the emotion flying across her face as she tried to comprehend what had happened.
As Thing attempted to talk to her, Wolverine limped in, still holding his spliced and charred side. Thing noticed and his jaw dropped.
"Logan, what happened?" He asked.
"Heat screwed my healing factor over. It'll be ok in a few hours. What's up with toots?" He asked.
"I don't know." Thing answered, completely confused. "She lost her power or something."
Wolverine looked at the scared expression on Leia's face, and he grunted.
"I guess it's up to us, huh?" He said.
"Guess so." Thing said in response.
Orbit above Coruscant: Super Planet Destroyer: Bridge
Palleon felt an odd disturbance in the cosmic forces. He sensed an enemy was lurking near. A powerful one. Thrawn seemed to sense this as well.
"Admiral," He said. "I expect you know what's happening?"
"Yes." Palleon answered. "An odd disturbance. I feel a potential threat."
"Where is Deadpool?" Thrawn asked.
"You rang, creepy blue guy?" The Merc with the Mouth said from behind.
The two admirals turned to see the controlled assassin, standing at attention. Palleon grinned, figuring Antilles and the Rogue Squadron was dead.
"Deadpool, was it?" He said. "I have a new assignment for you."
"Lay it on me, big mac." Deadpool replied.
"A potential enemy is approaching. We want you to repel them if they land." Palleon said.
"I'll do ya one better!" Deadpool chuckled. "I'll take care of 'em right now!"
As he said this, he disappeared in a puff of black and red smoke.
Orbit above Coruscant: Jedi Shuttle
Doom reached out with his senses, locating the TIE's chasing them. Once he had them pinpointed, he flipped the ship around, and reached his hand towards them. Willing the Force out of him, he clenched his fist and crushed the squadron.
"That takes care of that." Doom said.
Just as he said that, black and red smoke filled the shutle. Doom coughed and sputtered. Luke did the same, reaching for his lightsaber. Doom sensed it before the smoke cleared, and blocked the sword of Deadpool with his metal gauntlet. Luke looked in amazement at the Merc with the Mouth.
"Let's get ready to rumble!" Deadpool screeched.
