Ridge was swift to attack, his sword moving faster than the human eye could track however Israphel blocked it with ease. He threw his sword up with might and brought it down toward Ridge who side stepped and used his sword to stop Israphel from pulling up his sword.

"Give up, you're not going to win this." He said, although certainty was not within his words.

"Don't count your chickens before they hatch." Israphel replied, almost smiling.

"You sassy little- " but Ridge was cut short by Israphel who had once again wriggled out of his grip. He aimed low and caught Israphel in the leg taking him by surprise. Israphel took another painful step back and held his leg, wincing as the blood soaked through his trousers. He then aimed his sword to catch him on the shoulder and as the King went to block, ran into him, knocking him over. His foot was planted squarely on his chest, pinning him to the ground.

"I've had enough of this traitor." Ridge growled, pressing his sword to Israphel's neck.

"Traitor? What do you mean? I'm king, and I have every right to be." He said, his eyes still bright with anger.

"Not anymore you're not." Ridge replied, he couldn't help but smile. He pressed harder with his sword, cutting the icy white skin of the ex king. Israphel coughed and spluttered, only worsening his pain.

"Please! I'll do anything-" Israphel choked, only to be cut off by Ridge trailing his sword to his his chest.

"Shut up." Ridge said, he seemed to be contemplating something, waiting for the right moment.

"But you don't understand!" Israphel replied, he wouldn't let this thief have the last word.

"I said shut up!" He roared, then took a breath to calm himself. "You're not worth the air in your lungs, let alone the words you speak." Unexpectedly he stepped away from Israphel, allowing him to scramble to his feet but as he reached for his sword he realised why, he turned around only to feel blunt steel against his head. Israphel collapsed to the ground in a heap, not dead but definitely unconscious. Ridge sheathed his sword and turned to the two Enderborns, stood with their arms crossed, obviously watching the fight. He saw the confused look on their faces and raised an eyebrow to question them.

"Why didn't you kill him?" Calum asked, his eyes seemed to ask another question however,

How did you overpower him?

"It is not my place to judge whether this man lives or dies-" He replied honestly.

"That's not the only reason." Joseph said. Ridge couldn't argue with the Enderborns, they could read his mind after all they just wanted him to say it out loud. He sighed and crossed his arms,

"Well, I feel that death by steel would too easy a punishment for him after what he has done to Mistral but again, it is not for me to decide." He said, almost happily.

"Well, you are king, you can make any decisions you want." Calum responded, seeing through the young man's smile.

"That'll be the first I'm going to change." He said. This remark genuinely surprised Calum who had never been able to truly understand the new King's intentions without reading him.

"Why would you give up your own power." He asked, not wanting to allow him to change his mind before he continued.

"To stop me, others, everyone really from abusing it. You see what Israphel did, I never want a repeat of that." He said. Calum and Joseph both nodded at the response.

"You should head back to Irignum, they will need you, especially with your Queen gone." He said which once again surprised to Enderborns. Calum turned to Joseph immediately, keeping eye contact so he could talk,

How does he know about that? Calum thought,

I've no idea. Joseph replied.

As they looked back however they realised Ridge was nowhere to be found. Calum shrugged lightly, very few humans had the power of magic but it seemed Ridge was one of them.

"Shall we go brother?" Joseph asked, summoning their horses.

"Yes. We've news for the council." Calum responded.
