Time-travelers
Chapter 11 1/2 Part 2
I got a help from the song 'The Last Revolver' by GUMI
I walked up to the shooting arena. Just because I'm in the mission doesn't mean that I can't train. Well, you will get a less time to, but that doesn't mean that I cannot. I was shooting the targets down, it's 3D training, I was wearing a robotic goggle and gloves. So the gun holes were shown on the screen, 32ft away from me. "Wow, are you trying to kill him 32ft away?" I stopped shooting as I heard Hilda's voice. "No. I can't even train?" I asked, taking my goggle off.
"I didn't say that." Hilda approached me and picked up another goggle. "Don't give him too much care and interest and blah blah blah. I think you two are getting too close." She said as she started shooting. "Why would you care?" I asked as I put on my goggle and started to shoot again. "Because you are my leader and also my friend. Why else would I care?" She asked back. "I don't know." I answered and we continued shooting without talking to each other. "Why do you even came here? You are an archer." I said. She blinked, "Well just because I'm talented at archery doesn't mean that I shouldn't be here for shooting." She answered and we became quiet again. Mostly I thought about Taru. He didn't seem like a threat to me at all.
I walked to his town, I looked at my phone, the picture of him and I. I smiled. "What are you looking at?" I jumped and quickly made the screen go black. "Hey." Taru said with a smile. "Hi." I said back, smiling. "So, um, you wanted to go somewhere with me?" I asked, I could swear that I blushed. "Well, yes. Follow me." He said as he grabbed my wrist and we went to the edge of the town. The town is surrounded by forests. "Why are we here?" I asked, laughing a little. "I want you to meet someone." I gulped. I thought it was a girl, like his girlfriend but he instantly proved that I was wrong since he threw his Pokeball up in the air.
A Flygon came out of the ball. And it wasn't just an ordinary Flygon, it was Shiny Flygon. "Oh my gosh!" I gasped. "This is Tonbo. He will be our ride today." Taru said with a bow. Tonbo followed his owner's example. I giggled, "A ride? To where?" I asked. "To up there." Taru said as he pointed up at the sky. "We are going to ride a Pokemon? Cool!" I said and he gestured me to sit on Tonbo's back. He helped me climb on to his back and he sat behind me. He had his arms around my stomach, causing me to blush heavily. "Nervous?" He asked. "No! I rode various Pokemons a lot! Me? Nervous? Nonsense." I said with a laugh but I was, because he was right behind me.
"Come on Tonbo, let's go." Taru said as the Pokemon took off and we flew up in the sky of Violet City. "Beautiful." I said, it's not my first time seeing this in the sky but it looked even more beautiful with Taru behind me. "I know it is." He said and we flew around the sky of the City and we headed to the place where we took off. Before we landed, Taru hugged me tight from the back, rested his face on my shoulder. "I like you Dawn." He said. My heart started to beat very fast and loudly.
"I, um, I…." Even before I answered, he made me face him and leaned in. Our lips were connected. It was just a peck but it was my first kiss, from my first love. "Taru!" I said. "Oh, you didn't like it? Sorry." He said. "No, I didn't mean it that way. I was just surprised." I protested, waving my hands furiously. He smiled, "Then you like me?" I blinked and nodded. "Yes." We kissed again, on top of the Flygon and the City, we kissed.
As we landed he shook my hand, waved me goodbye-I told him not to walk me, and walked back. I felt my legs weakened as I dropped on my knees. I started to cry. Why? Why? Did I have to fall in love with him? I can't fall in love with him, I just can't…..
I walked back to the house and to the room where I shared with May. Hilda lives with her family but May is an orphan. She was found by my mother when she was just an infant in the forest nearby and Father trained and raised her to join the agency and I quickly befriended her. Why? Because she's the only girl in my age that Father allowed me to meet. And Mother allowed her to stay in their house. Until Hilda joined, we were the only friends we have, each other. "So, where have you been?" May asked, but I knew she knew it. "Outside, duh." I said as I climbed on to my bed on the top, we shared a bunk bed (A/N photo in the profile). "I know where you were, and tell me. I won't tell anyone!" May said as she sparkled her eyes. "You are the most talkative person I know. How in the Arceus' name can I believe you?" I asked. She concerned for a moment and agreed.
"You are right. I do have the biggest mouth in the whole Violet City so tell me." I facepalmed and headed into the bathroom to take a shower. "Leave me alone, okay?" I called out and slammed the bathroom door behind me. I slid down the bathroom door and sighed.
Few weeks later, on the cold winter afternoon, when I was preparing for myself to leave, Father called me to come down. "What is it Father?" I asked as I went to his library. He looked serious. "Dawn, I never thought that I would tell you this but you will have to kill him." my heart started to pound very fast. "Who? Taru?" I asked. He nodded, "Don't tell me you were expecting someone else." He said. "But, I spied on him and he didn't look like a threat to me." I protested, trying my best to look calm and collected but I doubt that it worked on Father. "Dawn. This is order. Not a request. Now go and finish him in a week." He said as he turned his chair around. My legs were trembling as I slowly walked out of the room.
I felt my hand going up to my mouth, and I cried. Trying not to make a sound, I cried. Warm tears crawled down my cheek, I cried and I cried. I went up to my room, thank Arceus that May wasn't there, I went into my bunk and cried. Not too loudly. I cried endlessly. I knew this day would come but I never wanted it to come. So I couldn't go out that day, I felt sorry to my friends.
I woke up next morning. "Why didn't you come out yesterday?" May asked while reading a fashion magazine. "I felt sick." I answered and quickly hurried to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and hair then I texted Taru to meet me at the forest. I wanted this week to be the best of his life, and mine.
I waited him in the edge of the forest until he came, running, waving his hand. "Hey, I bought you this." He said as he handed me a bouquet of red roses. "Do you like it?" He asked. I smiled, feeling a little sad, "I love it." I said. He must've noticed that I wasn't really happy, "Is something wrong?" I shook my head. "No, I'm fine. Let's go." I said, holding the bouquet tight. We climbed on to Tonbo and flied over the city. We didn't fly fast, we did chatting mostly. But I think it was then he noticed that we will have to say goodbye soon.
For the next 4 days he bought me a small gift every day. The next day he bought me golden hair clips, which I now wear them every day, Then he bought me an expensive headphone which I told him that I wanted few months before. I couldn't believe that he had this much money for this and he remembered it. "This is too expensive." I said, trying to return it but he said that if I did he would take it as I don't like him anymore.
He bought me a necklace next day then a bracelet*. "Taru, you didn't have to buy all these for me, these are too expensive." I told him, trying to give it back, but what he said was, "I don't want you to forget about me." He said with a light kiss on my nose. I felt tears coming up and I cried. He didn't ask, all he did was to hug me. "I love you Dawn. I really do." He said, clenching on to me tighter. I still cried, not wanting this to over, for the next day is the day when his life will be over.
The next day, we met again. I was wearing the necklace, bracelet, the headphone and the hair clip he gave me. This time, for I cannot betray my own Father, I brought a gun. We met in the heart of the forest and he saw me holding the gun. "Dawn?" He asked, he didn't look too scared or afraid. "Yes?" I answered. "I knew you were the agent from the start. I saw the mark on your hat." I, startled, covered my hat quickly. He chuckled, "You don't have to." He walked close to me, I unwillingly clenched on to my gun tighter. "Dawn?" "Yes?" He sighed. "I am related to Team Rocket because of my uncle. I never wanted to but I guess this is the end." I felt tears coming out. Why was he accepting his death? Why was he trying to die? Can't he just kill me instead and go away to live? I cried.
"Dawn?" I looked up at him, tears now flowing down freely. "Do you love me?" He asked. I felt more tears pouring down as I nodded my head hard. He walked up to me and hugged me, putting the pistol on his heart. He whispered into my ears, something that shocked me. He let me go and my index finger shook a little. "Is it your first time?" He asked. I shook my head. But the first to cry while doing so. My head went blank as I fired the bullet that pierced into his heart. I dropped the gun and ran to him. My head was spinning and I couldn't hear my cries. He collapsed on the ground, giving me the last smile, "Sayonara." and he stopped breathing. I screamed. I cried into his chest, "I'm sorry!" I screamed and screamed until I thought I would lose my voice. I cried while looking around and I spotted the gun.
I crawled to it while crying. I grabbed it and pointed it on my temple. I gave a one last look at the corpse and when I was about to fire, but with a sharp pain, there was an arrow on the back of my hand. 'Hilda.' I thought as I dropped the gun. "Dawn!" It was May's voice, with tear still flowing, my head spun and I collapsed on to the ground.
I opened my eyes. I was in a hospital bed. I sat up, my head was still spinning. I looked around, it was a room, fairly large and I saw the things I wore that day, placed carefully on the table close to the bed. I got out of the bed, dragging the pole with bag of IV hanging, the needle was on my left wrist. I walked slowly to the table and grabbed the things up. I didn't have the power to cry but I put the necklace around my neck, bracelet around my slender wrist, headphones on my head and I clipped the golden clips on my hair. I looked myself in the mirror close by, I looked very weak. But it was me. I then grabbed my phone which was next to them and the Pokeball, that had Tonbo inside, and I went to my phone's gallery. "Taru…." I whispered my love's name as I saw the picture of him and I, smiling. "I'm so sorry." I said and I cried.
Normal POV 2013, present, with Paul, Hearthome City, Sinnoh
Dawn shook her head to get rid of the flashback, she now hated to fly, gave her too much memories. "Are you okay?" Paul asked, riding his Honchkrow. "Yeah, I'm fine." She answered. The necklace, bracelet and the pin shined in the sunlight. Dawn smiled and flew little bit faster, just like that day.
Dawn's flashback is over. I will have May's and Hilda's later on and
Can anyone guess what Taru said to Dawn before he died?
