Hey everyone! I know it's been like roughly two weeks since I updated, but here I am with a new chapter! Yay!
So this one… will be good. I hope.

…
Chloe stood there, eyes wide as she surveyed Clark and Lex, the camera in her hands trembling. They pulled away and met each other's eyes before meeting hers.
"Oh my God," she mumbled again, taking a step back. "I am so sorry for just barging in on…that. I should go."
"Wait, Miss Sullivan," Lex said, getting up, leaving a still shocked Clark sitting. "May I have a word with you before you go?" Chloe shook a little but nodded. "Good. Let's go in the other room, shall we? Clark, I'll be right back." Lex placed a steady hand on Chloe's back as he steered her from the room. Clark watched them go before he took a deep breath. Resting his head back, he concentrated on their conversation.
"Lex I am so sorry-"
"Chloe, it's okay. But may I ask, what possessed you to come to my home today, at this particular moment?"
"W-well Clark was acting weird in school and then Lana asked if he and I were dating and I kind of just put two and two together… I'm so sorry about this."
"Why did you take a picture?"
"I couldn't believe my eyes… I'm so sorry. I can delete it if you want."
"No no, that's not necessary. You know, you would make a wonderful investigative reporter someday."
"Oh, well thank you." Clark could practically hear Chloe flushing at the praise.
"So here's what I'm going to do for you. If you would be so inclined to not mention my relationship with Clark to anyone, I will gladly give you an exclusive interview with me."
"An interview like that would give me a substantial boost in the journalism field."
"Indeed it would."
"But… Clark's parents deserve to know. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to tell them."
"No need. I took the liberty of doing that myself."
"Oh. Well then… Could I talk to Clark first?"
"Of course. I'll wait here." Clark listened to Chloe's steps as they headed in his direction. At the creaking of the door, he looked up.
"Hi," Chloe said softly, sitting next to him. "So… You and Lex huh?"
"Yeah…"
"Ya know, I did not see this coming at all. You were so focused on Lana that I never once thought you were…"
"Interested in guys?"
"Yeah."
"Me neither," Clark admitted with a shake of the head. "But Lex… he wiggled his way into my mind and then, my heart."
"Clark, you know we live in Kansas right? People aren't as… understanding, as they should be about some things."
"Why do you think I haven't told anyone?"
"Your parents know."
"That was Lex's doing, not mine."
"Well Clark, you have to ask yourself the biggest question. Are you happy with Lex?"
"Yeah… yeah I am. I didn't think I would be, but…" Chloe patted his knee and got up.
"Well then, that's all that matters, right?" Clark smiled and she grinned. "Now, if you'll excuse me, your boyfriend promised me an interview." He watched her practically skip away and he couldn't help but laugh.
Maybe having Chloe know about them isn't such a bad thing after all.
…
The next day, Clark was at his locker when Pete approached him.
"Hey man…" Pete started, looking a little awkward. "I wanted to talk to you about something."
"What's up?" Clark asked, slinging his backpack over his shoulder, looking at Pete expectantly.
"Well… I heard you were seeing someone." Clark's smile dropped and Pete continued on. "I don't know who; hell, no one does. But… I was thinking since you are dating someone… I might ask out Chloe." Pete watched as Clark's face went from suspicion to surprise.
"Oh."
"Is that cool man? I know she had the hots for you but since you're seeing someone I thought maybe I could finally take my chance and ask her."
"That's great."
"We're cool?"
"Yeah Pete. But you know, I love Chloe like a sister. If you hurt her…"
"She hasn't said yes Clark, so save the protective speech for later."
"Alright alright… Hey Pete, can I ask you something?"
"Sure man what's up?"
"How'd you know I was dating someone?"
"Oh that… well Lana keeps asking me and Chloe if we have any idea who it is. She's kinda… wound up about the whole thing. So who is it?" Clark shook his head, making Pete nod. "I get it; under wraps sorta thing huh?"
"Yeah… sort of."
"Well you seem happy, and that's all I could want for my best friend." Clapping him on the shoulder, the two of them began to walk to class. They stopped as a familiar bob of blonde hair ran their way, waving something wildly above her head.
"You two! Listen to this!" Shaking out the letter in her hand, she began to read.
'Dear Ms. Sullivan,
Upon reading your article in the 'Smallville High Torch' about the young playboy Lex Luthor, we would like to offer you a full internship with our newspaper this upcoming summer. You were highly recommended by none other than Lex Luthor himself, and we hope to hear from you soon in regards to this position.
Sincerely,
The staff of the Daily Planet, Metropolis'
"Wow Chloe that's great!" Clark said, giving her a celebratory hug which she gratefully returned. Pete hugged her next, holding onto her just a little longer than necessary.
"Clark it's all thanks to you. You made it to where Lex offered to give me the interview that got me this internship. You have to thank him for me."
"I will. I gotta go now though. Why don't you and Pete come by later for a celebratory dinner? I'll even ask Lex to come by."
"Or maybe we could all eat at Lex's? Just the four of us, if that's okay with you Pete," she said, giving him a warm smile. Pete looked slightly conflicted before giving in to their pleading smiles.
"If it's okay with Lex, then sure, why not."
"Great. I'll ask him later. Once again, congratulations Chloe."
"Thanks Clark." Clark waved to them and then quickly headed towards his class, mind racing.
He just planned a double date for himself and his friends.
He hoped he was ready for this.
…
So yeah… I really don't know where this is going, but it's going somewhere; everything goes somewhere, right?
Thanks for reading!
