Naruto came back to his room after a week in recovery, Sasuke was already sitting there, his head in his hands. He looked up when Naruto came in, Sasuke's eyes were puffing from crying. Tears started to well up in Naruto's eyes and he turned around and hurried out. "Naruto, please wait!" Sasuke yelled. Kiba stood at the door. "You're gonna leave him alone man." Kiba said sternly. "Damnit…" Sasuke cursed and collapsed on his bed.
"Naruto, you alright?" Kiba asked. "Numb, Kiba. Incredibly numb." Naruto dragged off of a cigarette. Kiba sighed. "He better feel ashamed of himself." Kiba cursed. "Kiba, I already know he feels like shit." Naruto whispered, wiping his eyes with the back of his jacket sleeve. "I just don't think his friends' death gives him an excuse to do drugs." Kiba said. "My parents dying didn't give me an excuse to cut myself either." Naruto looked at him intently. Kiba shut his mouth. "Sasuke and I are just people that don't know how to handle reality, we have to find some method of getting away from it, he chose drugs, I chose self-harm. We are the same almost." The blonde said, flicking his cigarette. "Why are you standing up for him?" Kiba asked. Naruto knew the answer, but he would never say it. He just uttered, "I don't know…"
Sasuke went to the gym and ran on the treadmill for two miles, chugging water constantly. He wanted to cleanse his system. His dietician put him on a detox diet, and Kakashi couldn't be more thrilled at his progress. "Sasuke, what's motivating you? You're doing so well." Kakashi smiled. "Honestly, Naruto is my motivation." Sasuke whispered. Kakashi quirked his head to the side slightly, "Why's that?" he asked. "The look on his face when he saw me, how his worry for me sent him to the hospital, and because I-" Sasuke cut himself off. "Sasuke?" Kakashi asked. "I…think…I love him…" Sasuke admitted, tears stinging his eyes. Kakashi just looked at him. "Are you sure he isn't a replacement for Sai?" Kakashi asked. "Kakashi…I actually love Naruto, more than a friend. My love for Sai was the strongest one person can feel for a friend, but Naruto…his innocence just draws me in. He's just like me. He can't handle reality, he can't handle the pain, and he can't handle not being able to change all the wrong in his life. I see myself in him and I'm destined to save him…because I can't save myself." Tears slowly ran down his cheeks, because this reality he had to face.
When Sasuke returned back to the room, Naruto was drawing, well more like scribbling vigorously on his sketchpad. Naruto had been crying. He threw the pad and pencil across the room and gripped his head. Sasuke was scared. "Naruto…" he whispered. "Leave me alone!" Naruto screamed. "Naruto…please." Sasuke was starting to shake. "I just want to die, why can't anyone just let me fucking die?!" Naruto screamed. "Naruto, stop…please. I couldn't live without you." Sasuke said. "You've got your fucking cocaine to help you deal." Naruto whispered. That hurt, really bad. Sasuke chest felt like it collapsed in when he said that. Sasuke went into the bathroom and turned the shower on hot. He sat down on the floor, letting the hot water burn his skin. He clothes clung to his body and he felt like he was suffocating.
Sasuke flashed back to the day Sai died. He found Sai in an alley with a bullet threw his head, and multiple stab wounds. Sasuke passed out after that and when he woke up, his parents had him in a rehab facility where they told him that his best friend was dead. He screamed and threw things and he broke down for the first time in his entire life. That night, he escaped from rehab, bought a gun and sat in the same alley that he found Sai in and put the pistol to his temple. His hand lie lightly on the trigger when he looked up and found a baggie of cocaine on the ground. He inhaled it and from that day, it wasn't for fun anymore, it was to take the pain away. Sasuke couldn't pull the trigger that night, he stayed high so that he wouldn't.
Sasuke let the water run cold in the shower, he was shivering, his skin was ice cold, but he couldn't move. Soon enough, the nurses came in and lifted him up from the shower. They undressed him, put him in dry clothing, and put him in bed. He had first degree burns from the hot water, but his skin was so cold that they didn't hurt. The nurse gave him a pill to sleep, because she knew he wouldn't get any sleep tonight. Naruto cried silently against the wall next to his bed. When would the pain end? Not just for him, but for Sasuke as well.
Sasuke slept through an entire day, the nurses brought him food when he woke up, forcing him to eat all of it. Naruto was just sitting on his bed with his knees to his chest, staring at some unknown spot on the floor. Sasuke got out of the bed, walked over to Naruto and whispered "I'm sorry." Naruto just wrapped his arms around him and held him for what seemed like forever. He was shaking and Sasuke held him tighter. Naruto looked up at Sasuke, staring into his obsidian eyes. Sasuke couldn't stop himself, he just reacted. He kissed Naruto. Naruto pulled him closer until Sasuke fell on top of him on the bed. "I've wanted you for a while now…" Sasuke whispered. Naruto just stared into his eyes, silently agreeing.
Sasuke's arms began to tremble. "You're trembling…" Naruto whispered, touching his cheek. "I'm alright, just…scared." Sasuke said, taking a deep breath. "I can't love again, but…I love you Naruto. I…I can't lose you. That would be it for me." Sasuke admitted. Naruto swallowed hard, what he was about to say was going to be the hardest thing to admit, but he meant it! "I'm going to get better for you…so we can go home…together." Naruto was shaking now too. Sasuke embraced him. "We will heal together."
They slept in the same bed that night, cramped, but happy. They slept so well, the best they've slept in months. Sasuke's eyes fluttered open, Naruto was still asleep. He took the opportunity to snuggle into him for a bit longer. Then the door opened. Sasuke shot up, it was Kakashi. Kakashi sighed and motioned for Sasuke to follow him. Sasuke kissed Naruto's cheek and followed Kakashi to his office. He went in and sat down. "What?" Sasuke asked, yawning. "Sasuke, you could get into a lot of trouble for that." Kakashi said. "What do you mean?" Sasuke asked. "Sleeping in the same bed with another patient is a huge violation. Since this place if for people with psychiatric needs, not everyone is in their right mind, so that could seem like taking advantage of him." Kakashi said. "Are you fucking kidding me? Jesus, this place is so damn uptight." Sasuke said. "I honestly don't care about it myself, neither does Naruto's therapist, we have talked about the situation. You two are vital to each other's recovery. I'm just telling you that you need to be careful or you will get kicked out of here and Naruto needs you." Kakashi said. Sasuke swallowed, being separated would be the end of both of them and they knew it. Sasuke would go back to drugs and probably overdose and Naruto would kill himself. This wasn't good. Sasuke was just now thinking through how crazy this was. He fell in love with a boy at a lunatic asylum, he really was crazy. But Naruto made him feel…normal, if that's what you could call it. Naruto calmed him. Sasuke got up out of the chair. "I will be careful, I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize being with him." Sasuke smiled. "Okay, now you guys need to get something to eat and head to group therapy." Kakashi smiled.
Sasuke walked back into the room and Naruto was in the shower. Sasuke was so tempted to take a peak, he wanted to see Naruto's sun kissed body dripping with water. Sasuke changed into his day clothes, he decided to look a little nicer today. He chuckled to him, he was trying to impress Naruto and he couldn't believe how crazy this whole situation was.
Naruto stepped into his room, Sasuke was completely naked. Naruto started to sweat and his heart raced. Sasuke didn't notice he was there yet so he took the opportunity to look him over. All Naruto could think was how cute of an ass Sasuke had. 'I wonder how big his cock is…' he thought and Naruto's eyes rolled back into his head, the blood went straight to his crotch. He began to stroke his erection, he hadn't done this in so long. Sasuke turned around and saw Naruto there stroking his erection. Sasuke giggled. Naruto jumped and blushed. They didn't make it to group therapy that day.
