Chapter Eleven-

The Announcement

Disclaimer: I do not own Pretty Little Liars, in anyway, only this story.

"What the matter?" Emily asked Spencer, sitting down on the couch, next to her. As soon as Aria had left- which was pretty quickly because she was so excited to tell the news to Ezra- Spencer had phoned Emily and demanded her to come back from Samara's apartment immediately. She needed someone to talk to, but she didn't want to ruin Aria's bliss and Hanna was a motormouth when it came to gossip, so that left her with Emily. Besides Emily was her go-to person for this kind of stuff, so it wouldn't be right not talking to her about this. "This" being the run-in with Greyson.

"So, this is going to seem crazy. Okay, well maybe not as crazy as Toby ending up being Greyson's adoptive father, but still, pretty crazy."

"Okay, well whatever it is, I'm here," Emily reassured.

"Well, today I was at Target," Spencer started, avoiding the reason why she was there. She wanted Aria to have the opportunity to tell Emily herself. "And I was searching through the aisles for some bread, when suddenly a little boy banged into me. He didn't seem like a normal toddler, though. It was almost like we had a connection. That's when I thought, what if this is Greyson? What if this is my son." Spencer took a deep breath and continued, "then my thoughts were conformed when he introduced himself to me. He even went to shake my hand," a slight grin, sneaked out on Spencer's face, "but that's besides the point. And then when I looked up, I saw Toby, just turning the corner, behind Greyson. I couldn't handle it. I didn't know what to do, so I took off. Again."

"Oh, Spencer," Emily said, gently hugging, her roommate, who was now sobbing. Emily couldn't even begin to imagine what it must be like to meet your son for the first time. Your son, who you had to give up. Your son whose already lived three years of his live. Without you. Without his mother. She was thankful she wasn't in Spencer's place. Thankful, she didn't have to feel her own heart breaking, after seeing her son, she gave up. How would Spencer ever be able to face Toby again? How would she be able to see Toby and not feel guilty because, she gave her own son away to him? To a person who was at the time a stranger. Oh, how Emily pitied Spencer, right now.

Emily just held Spencer. Neither saying a word, the only noise to be heard in the whole apartment was Spencer's gentle sobs as she tried to figure out how she had the heartlessness to give up such a sweet little boy.

After a few moments, Emily broke the silence, "well at least you know Toby's raising him good, if Greyson's already formally introducing himself," Emily said, trying to lighten the mood, a bit. This caused Spencer to let out a little giggle as she thought back to Greyson, standing there with his tiny hand stuck out in front of him, waiting for it to be shook as he introduced himself.

When Spencer finally felt like she was ready to talk again, she dropped her grip on Emily and said, "Toby has got to think I'm a horrible, for putting an innocent little boy up for adoption. I know I've already been through this stage, but I think I'm back there again. Worse than before now, actually."

"You done what you had to do Spence. No one expected you to raise a baby all by yourself at twenty," Emily said, sincerely. "And one things for sure, Toby definitely doesn't think that. Believe it or not, I actually got to know Toby a lot when we all went out and he is amazing and thinks the complete opposite of you. I'm serious too."

"Really?" Spencer asked, perking her head up to look at Emily.

"Really," Emily conformed.

The next day was Saturday, which met, it was the girl's sleepover, once again. Spencer assumed Aria was going to take this time to announce her pregnancy, which was about the only thing that Spencer was looking forward to that night. Although, she obviously already knew the news she was still excited to see how the other girls would react, seems they didn't even know Aria and Ezra were trying.

Sadly, excitement was probably the only positive emotion Spencer had felt so far that day, and her excitement level hadn't reached very high. She was still hung up over the whole Greyson-run-in and didn't expect to recover nor feel ready to talk to Toby again anytime soon.

A knock on the door interrupted Spencer's thoughts. She pulled herself up off the couch and yelled, "I'll get it," to Emily who was in her room, getting ready. She walked over to the door and opened it up to find Hanna and Aria standing on the other-side, both carrying overnight bags. Spencer and Emily's apartment had become their to-go sleepover spot, because of the fact that two of them were already living there. Plus, if they went to Hanna's or Aria's they would probably bother their significant-others, which was a no-no according to the guys. Apparently, being in even the same house as four girls when they are having a sleepover could risk their masculinity. Spencer considered them to not have any masculinity- maturity anyways- if that's the way they thought.

"Come on in," Spencer said, closing the door after the girls made their way into the apartment.

After Aria and Hanna placed their bags on the floor, the three girls took a seat on one of the couches, which were placed in the tiny living area and made small talk. After not long, Emily made their way out to join them and the conversation continued.

Eventually, Aria had decided it was time to announce "the news".

She cleared her throat, interrupting any small conversation that was being made before saying, "Guys, I have something to announce,"

"Go on..." Emily said, a bit skeptical.

Hanna gasped, "please don't tell me you got rid of Fitzy."

"No, actually, he'll be staying for awhile.. I'm pregnant!"

Upon hearing the news a gasp escaped both Emily and Hanna's mouths. "Congratulations!" Emily exclaimed.

"That's amazing! So, were you trying?" Hanna asked, being the Curious George of the bunch.

"Yes. I didn't want to tell you guys, because I didn't want to jinx it, but now it's for real!"

"Wait, why isn't the other duckling other there surprised?" Hanna asked, referring to Spencer.

"Okay, well, I told her. I'm sorry, I just needed to tell someone," Aria explained.

"Well, I don't care. I'm just super happy for you and Ezra!" Emily said, the excitement shining through in her voice.
