This is the end, Barney and Robin's happy ending... this chapter hadn't changed too much but it's the same plot of the chapter. After, everything they went through they finally get their happy ending together.
After, Robin officially moved in with Barney after a month of dating. The relationship was going strong, enough for Barney to think about marrying her, because he loved every day, every minute, every chance they got they were together and loved every moment that they made together. Making up for lost time, Barney and Robin were spending every waking moment together and were happier than ever until the moment Barney decided he wanted to be with Robin forever.
So, that meant making plans to propose, which included the gang finding out about his plans to propose.
He called up the gang, told them about his plans to propose to Robin. Everyone was happy for them and saw how great they were together, Lily even helped plan the proposal with Barney. It was all prepared and Barney hoped that it would go smoothly because he didn't want this to be ruined. So, on that Saturday evening, which was the day before Christmas Eve Barney set everything up and got Lily to get Robin to be there on time. Of course, Lily did everything right and got Robin to her favorite spot in the city. Her favorite spot was the top of her news station WWN she had been working there for over a year and loved going up to the roof because it was a beautiful place looking over the entire city. She had been working there for three years, she wasn't getting any success after she graduated NYU so with Barney's help and support she applied for this desk job, finally getting her foot in the right door she becomes an anchor a year later and never looks back because her life was completed.
On, the night of the proposal he was nervous. He wasn't sure if this would go good, but he hoped that she will say yes, after all they been through and all those years still in love. It was the right time for them to take that next step. They, both never really wanted to get married but can't stand to be apart or not be together, so this is the only option for them since they're living together, are in love and want to spend forever together.
He, waited for her come through the door, it was almost time for Robin to arrive and everything was in place and ready for Robin's arrival. Barney, is ready to finally propose to Robin and he hoped that she will say yes to it because... it would just be devastating if she said no to him. Anyway, that is far from his mind right now, first things first is for Robin to arrive.
Robin arrived right on time with Lily's help, she got ready with a brand new dress Lily had bought her, did her hair, put on make-up, and then Lily escorted her to the waiting limo where Ranjit was waiting. The limo pulled up to the WWN building and after some pushing Robin got out of the car and went up to the roof where Barney was waiting for her. She arrived right on time and that made Barney very happy, and excited to see her. She looked stunning in her dress he first thought when she walked over to him. He smiled brightly at her and she smiled back.
"So, what's all of this?" Robin asked wondering what was going on.
Barney smiled again and then said the things he wanted to say.
"Robin Scherbatsky, I have known you for a very long time. Since we were teenagers, you have been a big part of my life and even though we broke up and then found each other again years later. I never stopped thinking about you or loving you. That's why, from the moment you came back into my life, every moment I got with you was the best moment of my life, so that made me think about all the times when we were apart, we still loved each other but were miles apart literally and figuratively I want to spend all my time, ever day with you for the rest of my life. "Will you marry me?" Barney hoped that she will say yes and after saying what he had to, he had no doubts that Robin would.
"Yes." Robin never thought about getting married before, ever since she and Barney broke up she told herself that she will never get married cause she never felt that way about anyone else after Barney. But, then she saw him again and it all came back to her. That's why her answer is yes... ahe wants to spend her whole life with Barney and doesn't want to ever be without him again.
They kissed for a good while after that and then Lily surprised them with champagne and a congratulations, with Marshall and Ted there too. The five of them celebrated the engagement in very cold weather on top of the roof.
A year later Barney and Robin married in a beautiful church with all their friends and family. A few months later, Robin became pregnant with their first child and moved into a house in Brooklyn. After that, Barney and Robin had one more kid a boy, and that was it for them, they never looked back again, they were happy and settled after all these years.
