Sorry it took so long, but here is the newest entry! Enjoy!
The full moon shone brightly over head illuminating the dark forest cloaked earth below; deep within the dieing trees was nestled an old cabin. A shadowed figure loomed over the sleeping young man in the only bed within it's walls. The mysterious figure cupped the sleeping brunettes cheek with his hand.
"Such an odd boy, hard to believe he is Leon's descendent." Mathias mused with a soft smirk. Letting his hand slip away from Richter's face he turned to a nearby chair and lowered himself into the cushioned seat by the dim fireplace.
'To think my future action's shall cause Leon to curse his own bloodline...' The tactician mused letting his cheek rest on his hand that only a moment ago was caressing the future Belmont's own. Soon Mathias' mind began to wander as he stared into the hypnotizing flames.
The tactician was a man of many battle strategies, but sleep was a war in which his skills failed him this night. A groan of frustration vibrated in his throat as he tossed and turned, ultimately his vain efforts ending as he forced himself out from under the warm blankets hoping a walk would help ease his active mind. Dressing in a simple dark tunic and pants, he left the cabin with only a lantern and short sword on his person.
'What is plaguing my mind tonight?' A screech was heard from behind him causing him to jump and turn behind him only to quickly duck as a bat swooped down from the tree's canopy. He stood and turned to face the retreating bat and gave it a quizzical look.
'A bat? A vampire may be lurking around, or he is watching me again...' He let out a sigh and went back to walking the path only to hear an unusual noise in the forest, like something heavy fell from the highest tree branches.
"What in the-? Why was I careless in being unarmed?" Mathias muttered as he turned off the path into the thicket, often getting his tunic snagged on thorns and branches. After freeing he tunic from a particularly clingy branch he stumbled into a small clearing and froze at the sight before him.
"What in the world..." Mathias muttered as he slowly walked up to the unconscious brunette before him.
'Is he what caused that noise? Was he up in the trees or even why at such an hour?' He mused as he examined the blue-clothed man, finding several cuts and bruises on him. Mathias' attention was drawn away from the young man when a growl resonated behind him.
'Why did I come unarmed?!' He quickly remembered the boy was armed, unsheathing the dagger from the brunette's side and took a defensive position as the large Lycanthrope busrt through the brush and into the clearing straight for Mathias. It was over before the Tactician even realized; the Lycanthrope lunged for his throat as he dodges to the side and rammed the dagger into its furry throat, slowly resting it's body into the grassy land dagger still in it's throat. Mathias glared at the beast before righting himself and dusting himself off, muttering curses at and about the beast. He heard a gargled noise from behind him causing him to whip around and see the brunette had awoken, grabbed the daggar, and slit the beast's throat ear to ear.
Mathias was in stunned silence as he watched the other male sheath the dagger and take the chain coiled at his hip & strike the Lycanthrope hard making the beast burst into holy blue flames.
"Never turn your back to creatures of darkness unless they are truly dead." The man spoke, eyes moving from the ashes of the beast to the man before him, his cold look warmed up with a smile. "I give you my gratitude."
"gratitude for what? I just found you within this clearing when the Lycanthrope saw us both as a meal." Mathias spoke spreading his arms out at the mention of the clearing. The other male lightly shook his head, smile still on his face.
"Exactly why I am grateful to you."
That was a few hours ago. He had taken the odd man, who had revealed himself as Richter Belmont much to Mathias' confusion 'Leon never spoke of a relative of that name before', to his cabin for proper care, warmth, and some food. After the meal they had talked about many subjects; though the onyx haired man was more interested in what information he could get from the other man about the Belmont clan. Richter spoke of his clan's history since Leon Belmont's first use of Vampire Killer to his own battle to free his now wife which Mathias internally question the young man's willingness to tell his family history to a stranger.
The tactician returned his gaze to the slumbering Belmont with a small smile appearing.
'Despite Richter's grave mental flaws for being a Belmont, his blood has retained Leon's beauty throughout the centuries.' He thought as he stood and gave the brunette a kiss to the forehead.
"You fool, but something about you... I will make sure you will get a 'special' treat for you..." He whispered to the sleeping figure, he himself unknown as to what that threat would be.
Sorry about it being so short. R&R!
