From the moment his lips touched hers, Hinata and Naruto's relationship felt like a dream. They were inseparable and spent most nights together, trained together, ate together - everyone knew if you saw one the other wasn't far behind. If she got sent on a mission without him, he'd kick up such a fuss that they'd need to send him too, and in battle he'd always be close behind her in case she fell into trouble.
Every time he held her hand she got butterflies, still wanting to pinch herself to check she wasn't dreaming, seeing stars whenever he looked at her. She never felt so happy in her life. He also taught her to appreciate who she was more, helping her become a stronger person until in the end she was even able to stand up to her father when she didn't agree with him. This was one of the reasons Hiashi didn't want her with him. From the start of their relationship he tried to throw barriers in their way, pushing for more training, trying to get her on more missions and away from the village for longer but everything he tried they were able to overcome. Naruto helped her with her training, went along with her missions and gave her a place to stay when it got too much at home, but in the end she always went home - family is always a bond you can't lose. Or so she thought.
One day Hiashi called Naruto to meet him alone. Hoping that finally he'd come to accept them Hinata was filled with hope that they could finally be a real couple, maybe even move on in their relationship. She hid around the corner hoping to catch the moment everything got easier, and heard every word of the whole conversation. From the moment he walked in, happy in his naivety, everything was set to change.
The silence seemed to last house before Hiashi finally spoke.
"I want you to leave my daughter and never see her again." The words fell like stones into the silence as Hinata's knees buckled. Naruto went to talk but Hiashi stopped him,
"She's already a disappointment to the family, and now everyone knows about you two being together. You. You're an outcast, a freak only kept in this village because you're too dangerous to risk anyone else getting hold of. There is nothing you can do to help her - or this family - get in a better position. You're bringing her down and if you care about her at all you'll let her go." He paused and looked at Naruto, gauging how he thought he'd taken it, and if he'd cooperate. "You want to be Hokage one day don't you. Depending on what you do when you leave this room I can either make it easier. Or harder." The air was think with tension as he stared at Naruto who stared back intently. Naruto gently unfurled his fists and spoke slowly and calmly.
"Now that you've finished talking listen up 'cuz I'm only going to say this once. I love Hinata. She is amazing, talented, brave and a far better person than you. Only she can decide what she wants to do and you can't make her. I'm going to be Hokage if you 'help' or not but either way I will be doing it with her by my side. You're a bad father and an even worse person and she'd be better off without you" hands shaking with rage he walked to the door and his back still to Hiashi he paused "we're both going to prove you wrong" he said defiantly before walking out of the room.
Hinata, hearing him coming, had moved to the garden but had heard it all. Torn between laughing and crying she saw him and threw her arms round his neck. Naruto looked at her puzzled, had she heard it all? Realising he wasn't going to tell her she backtracked. "So what did he want?" She asked trying to stop herself screaming out that she loved him too. "He said..." He shook his head and smiled his goofy smile "he said you can move in with me - if you want?" She shrieked yes and threw her arms round his neck again.
The next 6 months passed in a dreamy haze. The whole village seemed to embrace their relationship - on the surface at least - and she'd even started talking to her father again. Then when he took her to the woods one evening and in the moonlight asked her to be his wife her heart swelled with happiness and she cried tears of joy as she said yes.
She was reluctant to tell her father at first but Naruto spurred her on, telling her she can make her own decisions and to have faith in them, and he'll always be there to support her if she does. Hiashi stood silent as she told him. His face twitched, then he nodded and walked away. She smiled and felt overwhelmed at the small triumph as she walked away. She ran out the gate and jumped into Naruto's arms, giggling as he began swinging her round. Then when planning the ceremony Hinata had some more news - she was pregnant. The moment she realised she felt her life was now complete, he was already her perfect partner and now he was going to be a perfect father. Her life felt - perfect. When she told him he stumbled back and fell onto the floor behind him with a heavy thud, didn't move at all and just stared ahead blankly. Hinata started to panic as she began to back out of the room, then looked at him and he started smiling, then laughing until he sprang to his feet with a massive grin and jumped around the room singing 'I'm gunna be a daddy. I'm gunna be a daddy!' before scooping her in his arms and placing a massive kiss on her lips. But like every movie there was something awful waiting round the corner to destroy their perfectly happy world.
It wasn't until her slim frame started to show the lump that she felt she should tell people, so she started with close friends first, then others in the group working her way up to the one she was dreading - her father. Her stomach churned every time she thought about it and she felt sick with fear, she already knew how he'd acted when they were dating but now that she a carrying his child? So when she received a message that Hiashi requested her company she felt her stomach drop to the floor.
On her way there she walked slowly as possible, relishing every moment she had now as she knew things were about to change one way or another. Walking into the darkened room she saw her father sitting at the table and her mother standing against the wall behind him, she looked like she'd been crying. Slowly Hinata sat in from of him and went to go and speak but he held up his hand so silence her.
"Why did I find out you were expecting from the girl in the flower shop?" His face was serious as he stared dead ahead - Hinata made a mental note to have a go at Ino later, the girl never could keep her mouth shut. "Getting married was bad enough but a child? Are you deliberately trying to humiliate this family? Do you know what that child could do - could BE?! And what then - is it going to try and take over this family when it's old enough? Destroy what's let of our name? How can you be so selfish? Do you know what sort of powers it's going to come out with, you could be giving birth to a monster! Those 9 tails powers - it could destroy the village, and the poor child will be and outcast..." He kept talking but Hinata zoned out, why would he try and destroy the one chance she had at being truly happy?
She stood slowly and Hiashi stopped talking . She looked her father dead in the eyes and took a deep breath. "Naruto is the best thing to happen to me. He cares about be - more than you seem to - he nourishes and encourages me to be better at everything I do. When was the last time you did that? This child will not be some freak - some side show for the people of the village to gossip about and run from, it will be cared for and loved and accepted for what he or she is. I maybe a Hyuga at the moment but soon I won't be and then there will be nothing you can do. So you may not support us, but don't get in my way." She stood silent staring her father down, then turned to leave. She was about slide the door back when she heard her fathers' words and felt her knees give way.
"You are not having that child Hinata. If you do I will destroy everything you care about. I will have you run out of the this village before the child's even been born, and Naruro? He won't have any chance of becoming Hokage, I will make sure his name is mud - no other village is going to want to have anything to do with him. You will be disowned completely, no longer have access to this house, your mother or your sister. I will take everything from you. Don't destroy your life over some schoolgirl crush. If you care about him you will make sure you don't have this child - if you truly care about him don't destroy his dreams."
She began sobbing uncontrollably as she fell to the floor, gasping for air between the tears, clutching at her stomach trying to keep hold of the fragile life inside her. She pulled herself to her feet and without saying a word left the house not even turning round.
When she got home to Naruto she fell to her knees in front of him and with tears still steaming down her face she told him the whole conversation. She watched his face flush red with rage and fists ball up and knew what he was thinking if doing. "Naruto no!" She got to her feet and put her hands on his shoulders but he pushed them away and went for the door. "Please don't go over there, you said yourself there isn't anything he can do to us. We just carry on like we are, we don't even need to-"
"He threatened is own daughter. Tried to get rid of his own grandchild. Tried to destroy my family. He needs to learn he can't push people round." He started breathing heavier as the air around him stared to take on an orange hue. Hinata started to panic, if he unleashed even a bit of the fox in such a small space... "Please Naruto, calm down. Think about the baby." She started to back away and ended up against the door. "How can he do that to his own daughter? What kind of a man is he?" The glow round him grew stronger as the faint outline of a tail appeared behind him "what kind of a father is he?" He snarled as he moved towards the door - and Hinata. "Please. Naruto. " she pleaded "Just stay here with me, I need you here with me. Please calm down." "He needs to be taught a lesson" He growled as he leapt forward and threw the door open, sending Hinata flying into the wall the other side of the room with a thud.
When she came to there was only her in the flat - no Naruto and no baby.
