AN- Well, I am sick at home and have nothing to do, so I thought that I would update this story. Sorry if it's a little late. I would like to thank Blue Luver5000 and sara253xxx for leaving a review. As for the quidditch incident you'll have to read the chapter chapter to find out because I didn't have time to include it in this chapter. And for the Sophie/Regulus pairing. You shall also have to wait until later in the story to find out because I don't know who I want Sophie to be with yet. That and I really suck at writing relationships. I also would like to thank anyone who added this story as a favorite or put an alert on it. Now, enough of my rambling and on to the story. -Laura
Chapter Ten: Let the Games Begin
"Sophie, wake up. It's almost time for breakfast," a distant voice said while shaking me awake.
I groaned and readjusted myself into a more comfortable position while slurring out, "Go away. I'm trying to sleep here."
"Okay then. I guess you'll just miss the quidditch game and cause Slytherin to forfeit to those nasty Gryffindors," the voice said in a disappointed voice.
This caused me to sobber up rather quickly. My eyes flew open and I sat up way to fast shouting, "No, I'm up! I'm up!"
To my left Regulus burst into laughter.
"Ha ha. Very funny. Now shut up. We have to go to breakfast or we'll be late and Higgs will kill us," I grumbled as I chucked my shoe at his head to stop his laughing. I snickered as it hit him square in the head.
Once we reached the Great Hall could feel myself getting a little nervous. I was going to be playing quidditch in front of the entire school. I had a feeling that this situation was not going to end well. Not well at all.
"Come one, Sophie. Eat something. It's not going to help you if your stomach is empty on the pitch," Regulus said a few minutes after we arrived at the Slytherin table.
I willed myself to picked up a piece of toast and took a bit out of it. I rolled my eyes as I saw Regulus was going to watch me until I finished eat.
"Happy now?" I sarcastically said to my companion.
Reg gave me a crooked smile, "Of course. Now let's head down to the changing rooms. It's time to go."
"Okay, this is the game we've all been anticipating to win. I know that you all can do it because I believe in all of you. That and Slytherin has got the best team it has ever had in years, so let's go out their and beat those Gryffindors," Higgs, the captain, said as our little pep talk.
While he was saying this I was trying to contain my excitement. I was also happy to say that all my nervousness from yesterday had thankfully disappeared, but this might have to do with me doing a Regulus said and think of my brother's face once he sees that he has lost. I don't even know if he ever found out I was on the quidditch team. I high doubt that he did.
"Are you ready?" Adams said as he stood to my left. He looked a bit green.
I gave him my signature smirk, "When am I not?"
This remark made him laugh, "Good luck, Potter."
"Same to you, Adams," I said as we were about to enter the pitch.
The announcer Josh Summers, a fifth year Hufflepuff, had just finished calling out the Gryffindor team and was just about to call out ours.
"And here comes the Slytherin team. Lead by Captain Higgs is the returning members Bole, Flint, and Black. Then we have the newest additions Peterson, Adams, and- Wait a minute. Is that Sophie Potter?" said a baffled Summers.
I could see this caused quite a shock to everyone in the crowd. The people in the stands went all quiet and I could see my brothers dumbstruck face as we stopped in the middle of the field.
"Sophie? You made the quidditch team?" James was beyond shocked. "How?"
I growled in annoyance, "How do you think? I actually tried out this year. I could have made the team second year if I wanted to. It is not my fault you were to self absorbed to notice that I actually liked to play the game of quidditch."
Before more words could be exchanged Hooch came forward with here whistle.
"Now I want a clean game for all of you," she put extra emphasis on the word all in her sentence and gave us all a glare with her yellow eyes as we mounted our brooms. Clearly she could see we were going to play a dirty game today, but who couldn't see that? You'd have to be an idiot not to.
"When I blow my whistle the game begin and from there on you know the rules," she gray haired woman continued. Hooch pulled the whistle up to her lips and that blew on it. The next thing you see the was the quaffle being launched into the air and me and my brother both lunged for it at the same very second.
The only thing I could think of at the time it that id was going to be a very dirty game because James and I are the most competitive people in the school. I just hoped one of us would win before we would kill each other.
AN- Once again I am sorry for not actually incorporating the game in this chapter, but I ran out of time. I promise to update soon though. Remember to review. -Laura
