Chapter Twenty: The Gathering of Potters

It has been a few days since I had arrived home and so far it was going okay. James and I have been avoiding each other like always. Mum and I are not talking unless she is yelling at me and that is all the time. Dad and I are getting along okay which is a odd feeling because I was so used to not having anyone in my life at home.

Today is Christmas Eve and my family is going to have this huge Potter Reunion. They are going to spend the night until Christmas tomorrow when we will have this wonderful feast. Fantastic. A bunch of Gryffindor Alumni and then there is me. The only Potter that ever made it into another house. To top that off my house was Slytherin. I can't wait to be glared by my whole family that would very much enjoy it if I just spontaneously imploded.

Once the family arrived, Mum made me and James stand by the door and greet the guests as they came in. I swear she did this so she could watch everyone glare at me after hugging her prized son. The only person that treated me with respect was my grandmother. That may be because she was a Black. She was in the Ravenclaw house too, so no house rivalries.

"Hello Sophie. How have you been?" my grandmother, Doria Potter, said to me in a kind voice.

I gave her a half smile. I have always liked my grandma when I was little, but then we stopped visting because James and I had been going to Hogwarts. I remeber she always said that I looked almost exacally like her when she was young. "Fine, Grandma. How have you been?"

"Just wonderful. Now how about I get you out of here? I can see that you aren't enjoying yourself," she said in a motherly tone. The only one I ever listened to. I mean, have you seen her when she gets angry? She is a Black and when you work her up you can really tell.

After I excaped, I listened to Grandma tell me stories of her time at Hogwarts. I must say that she is a very good story teller, because I didn't even notice it was almost eleven. Mum sent me to bed while yelling at me the whole time I was walking up the stairs to get to my room. That got everybody's attention almost immediatly. I glared at my brother and Sirius who were holding back there laughter.

The next day I was woken up by two pairs of running feet going by my door. That was probably my brother and his friend. I then looked at to clock to see that it was six in the morning. I groaned and got to my feet. I just left my pajamas on, which were just a t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants, and walked down stairs.

Under our gigantic Christmas tree was a huge pile of presents. The two that woke me were already tear theirs open. I shrugged my shoulders and decided to open mine as well. My parents had gotten me the latest version of the broom. From my grandmother was the largest pile of sweets that I had ever seen. Adams had given me a broom polishing kit and Narcissa gave a ton of books. What shocked me the most was that Regulus had given me the most beautiful bracelet that I had ever seen. It had a silver snake on it with an emerald for an eye. I would have to write him soon. The rest of my family gave me small things and when I looked over to my brother I noticed that he got a lot more than I did. I didn't care though.

I dragged all of my presents upstairs and when I returned it seemed like my family had finally forgot about my house and was ignoring me. I then walked over to the piano that sat in the corner of the room and began to play like I did every Christmas. No one wanted to speak to me, so I would let my music take me to another world. Blocking everyone out and closing my eyes as I just lett my fingers roam over the keys in a beautiful melody.

Happiness swelled inside of me as I listened to what I played. I usually played to what ever my feelings were. I missed not having a piano back at Hogwarts. Whenever I was upset when I was little I would always play the piano. This stopped once I begun school and I would take my anger out on the people around me.

After a while I had to stop because it was time for dinner. This would be a very intersting evening. Me and family at the dinner table being forced to talk to one another. Great.

AN- Sorry if the chapter is shorter than usual and a tad boring. I plan for the next chapter to make things more intersting. Sophie and her family are a very bad together and you'll soon see it. Remeber to review.
