Chapter Thirty-Three: Late Night Strolls Aren't Good for the Health
"Come on, Potter, you can do better that that!" Bole, the Slytherin Keeper, yelled to me with his cocky voice after he deflected my shot. The bastard was way too full of himself.
I rolled my eyes at his stupidity as he chucked the quaffle back at me a bit too ruffly. When I got the correct grip on it, I then proceeded to threw the ball at him with all my force.
"What the hell?" he exclaimed as he barely dodged the speeding ball that was heading right toward his face.
I just smirked at him, "Well, you said I should do better. The ball did go in, didn't it?"
"Oh, just fuck off Potter," Bole hissed bitterly as he glared at me.
That just caused me to laugh.
"Hey Potter and Bole! You guys going to get down here or keep trying to injure each other?" Higgs shouted from the ground.
"Merlin Higgs, don't get your panties in a twist. We're just joking around." I said as I touched the field that was just below me by hundreds of feet a few seconds ago.
The keeper next to me just chuckled, "Yeah, just calm down. Don't want to have a stroke or something before the big game against the Hufflepuffs in a few weeks. Not like we'd lose if any of us didn't play. Those Puffs are just too easy to beat."
Flint, one of the beaters, just nodded in agreement, "You'd have to actually try if you wanted to lose."
"Guess you guys are right. Now go change. See you all tomorrow for practice." Higgs muttered as he left for the locker rooms.
I followed my captain's lead and started off to the Girl's Locker Room to change. When I arrived, I decided to take a nice, hot shower to relax my sore muscles. As soon as I was done I changed back into my usual jeans and t-shirt. I made sure to tuck my wand into my back pocket.
The moon was high in the sky and was illuminating the whole castle grounds in a bit of an eerie way. I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I knew right them that something bad was going to happen.
Slowly, I drew out my wand and checked my surroundings. There was nothing out there. Nothing that I could see, anyway.
I then once again continued my trek back up the the school. That was when I heard pounding feet running right at me. I turned to look behind me and saw a gigantic beast running at me. My feet were frozen to the ground in shock.
It was some sort of animal that was similar to a dog in shape. I was tall, but really skinny and had really dark brown fur. I could see those amber eyes from a mile away. They were piercing and had a wild look to them, but somehow they look a bit familiar. Why is that?
By the time my feet began to move, it was too late to make any sort of escape. I shot a few curses behind me as I sprinted away from the monster, but they had no effect whatsoever.
I felt it's claws dig into my skin by the time we had reached the Black Lake. It was right on top of me. So close that I could feel the warm breath hit me in the face. I could smell the woodsy sent radiating from it's body. I could hear the deep breaths it was giving off from the chase it had.
I don't think that I will get out of it this time. There were cuts on across my body that were bleeding real heavily. I could feel myself becoming woozy as I felt the blood pour out of me.
I look past the beasts head to see the full moon was shinning down upon us. If I was going to be kill, I didn't want to see the monster's face as it happened.
Wait a minute. Full moon? Dog-like creature? It couldn't be...
Remus.
Where the hell could he be? James Potter thought as he ran through the forest in his animagus form. Peter was supposed to be with him, but he had fell behind a while ago. He didn't care right now. He had to find his friend before something could happen. And he knew Remus would never forgive himself if he hurt anyone while it his wolf form.
The stag leaped over a fallen tree and onto the school ground. Maybe he wandered out here... James thought worriedly. He hoped that he was wrong.
That was when he saw them.
AN- Once again I am sorry for the long update. Hope you all review anyway. I love your feedback.
