The first Saturday that Samandriel and Adam are out of the hospital together, the Winchesters throw a large family dinner. Dean decided on Mexican food, complete with Enchilada's, tamales, and – what Dean likes to call – street tacos. The cooking process is a lot longer than normal, with the need for more hands as well. But it's great to be able to talk and goof around with his friends. Dean has a great time teasing the youngest Winchester about everything.
It's going great and everyone is sitting around, helping make dinner, when things get awkward.
"So, Samandriel. You dating anyone?" It's Charlie who asks, and of course she phrases it to be open to either gender.
Samandriel just kind of stops moving before looking down and the frying pan full of ground beef in his hands. Dean looks around the kitchen and he's grateful he's not the only one who caught the awkwardness.
"You don't have to answer, I was just cur-"
Adam blurts out, "Samandriel and I are dating!" before Charlie can complete her retraction.
The kitchen is silent before everything explodes and people are asking a million questions a minute, trying to get all the information they can. Dean's patience quickly vanishes when Gabe accidently knocks over the bowl of grated cheese.
The room falls silent as the bowl shatters.
"Alright, everyone out of my kitchen!"
"Dean-" Cas tries to placate him.
"OUT!" And his friends scramble about, trying to be the first one out of the kitchen.
Almost all of them are out when Dean grabs Samandriel's arm.
"Not you, blondie. You're staying in here with me." He drags him backwards and guides him to a seat.
"Dean, go easy on him." Sam laughs, dragging a wary looking Adam away.
"Is this where you threaten me?" Samandriel asks in a meek voice.
"What? No. I'm not going to threaten you, Samandriel. God no. I just need an assistant." Dean instructs the blond how to proceed while he slices up meat.
"It looks like you're trying to intimidate me."
"I'm not trying anything. Trust me. I know that you know how much I care for my family. And I know that you know what I'm willing to do for them. I really do just need an assistant." Dean smiles at the blond, all fake innocence.
"Right." Samandriel looks back down at what he's doing.
Not even ten minutes later Cas and Sam come into the kitchen, "Hey, we're here to relieve Samandriel of whatever torture you're practicing."
"I am offended that you think I'm torturing him."
Sam looks at the younger blond and asks, dead serious, "Was he singing?"
"My singing is just fine!" Dean chucks a stray vegetable at his little brother.
"I quite enjoy Dean's singing," Cas intones.
"Well you're tone deaf, Cas." Sam laughs as Samandriel darts out of the kitchen.
