When Gabe drops Sam off after the weekend, he goes inside with Sam to get this confrontation with Dean over with. When they walk in the door, it's actually Cas who pokes his head out of the kitchen to see who it is.

"Welcome home, Sam." Cas greets.

"Calling this home already, Cas?"

Cas just blushes before turning around and stalking back into the kitchen. Gabe follows Cas to find Dean making dinner.

"Hey Cas, why don't you and Sam go talk nerdy to each other while I talk with Dean."

"Why?"

Gabe leans against one of the counters and smirks, "Because we need to talk about how I'm defiling his brother."

Before Sam can voice the indignation on his face, Dean replies without turning his back, "I'm pretty sure it's my brother who's defiling you."

Gabe sputters, not expecting snark.

Sam laughs before guiding Cas out of the room, who looks a bit worried about leaving the two of them alone together.

"So…we gonna talk?" Dean sighs in front of him, placing the knife down – which is a relief – before turning around.

Dean doesn't look pissed, which is actually really unnerving.

"It's as simple as this; If you hurt my brother, I hurt you. It's how it works. Other than that, as long as you keep that nasty stuff out of my face or ears, I don't have a problem with it."

"Oh good. I thought I was gonna have to play a low card and mention the thing you've got for Cassie."

That gets Dean to splutter and turn completely red.

"I – I don't know what you're talking about." Dean quickly turns around, getting back to making dinner.

"Want some inside information?"

Dean doesn't respond, so Gabriel just continues.

"Cas kind of has a thing for you, too."

Dean stops and turns to glare at Gabe.

"That's not funny."

"I wasn't kidding." Dean looks unsure, but Gabriel recites Castiel's confession to him just a week prior about his feeling.

"He really…"

"Yeah, Dean-o."

Dean seems to think it over and Gabe lets him. The shorter man steals an Oreo from the jar before making his way into the back of the house to find Sam and Cas talking.

"I honestly don't think he was evil at his core, I think he was just mistreated."

"Yeah? Well I think he was evil. Pure, unadulterated evil." Cas counters.

"Please tell me you two aren't actually talking nerdy to each other?" Gabe smirks, wrapping his arms around Sam.

"Dean let you live, huh?"

"Yeah, no thanks to you."

And the three of them talk while the house fills with people. By the time dinner rolls around, everyone except Bobby and Crowley is there. They're all sitting around the living room, joking, when the door opens and in walk their two missing parental figures.

"You're late!" Everyone choruses, sounding snooty.

Bobby and Crowley get a plate after glaring at all of the children who have migrated into their living room. Everyone is talking calmly when Bobby turns to look at him.

"So I hear Sam finally got around to defiling you."

"Why is everyone convinced I'm taking it?"

"Because the alternative is like watching a Chihuahua mount a Labrador" Dean snarks, grinning.
