Antonio pulls into the parking space in front of the building where Tracy's Analytic Geometry and Calculus class will take place. He turns the car off and gets out. He walks around to the passenger's side. Tracy gets out and he picks up her book bag. Then they walk inside the building.

"You don't have to walk me to class Honey. I can do it myself." Tracy says.

"I know my little angel fish." Antonio says.

When they get there Tracy sits down on the bench against the wall. Antonio hands the bag to her. He kisses her good bye and heads back to the car. A few minutes later Karyn Samara walks up. She has deep-set blue eyes, thick, curly, charcoal colored hair, has a thin build and her skin is chocolate brown.

"Hi, I'm Karyn. What's yours?" She asks.

"It's nice to meet you Karyn. I'm Tracy. Do you know who is teaching the class?" Tracy answers.

Karyn says no. She asks her what happened to her ankle. Tracy tells her about the race yesterday. As Tracy finished the story she notices that Tracy looks dozy.

"Are you Okay? You look tired." Karyn says.

"Don't worry I'm fine. The pain medicine the doctor gave me for my ankle that's all." Tracy says.

"I can take notes for you until your ankle is better." Karyn says.

Tracy tells her that she doesn't have to do that she can handle it. They talk for a few more minutes. Karyn sees her friends Francesca Mann and Tammie Webster walk up. Francesca has almond shaped eyes the color of blueberries, fine, straight, short yellow hair, has a voluptuous build and her skin is ruddy. Tammie has deep-set brown eyes that are like two acorns, thick, curly, neck length amber hair, an athletic build and her skin is pale.

"Hey guys, how have you been?" Karyn asks.

"Good" the girls answer together.

'Do you guys have to do that every time I ask a question?" Karyn asks.

"Yes," They answer.

The way Karyn's friends answering Karyn's questions at the same time reminded Tracy of the times she an Ashley would do the same thing. The three girls look over at Tracy. They see a sad look on her face. Karyn asks Tracy what's wrong.

"I was thinking about my best friend Ashley. She moved to New York to go to MUNY." Tracy answers.

"You miss her don't you?" Tammie asks.

Tracy nods. Tammie and Francesca promise that they'll try to keep their best friend quirks to a minimum. Tracy thanks her. Francesca changes the subject. She asks her about how her fiancé proposed to her.

"How Antonio proposed to me wasn't all that romantic." Tracy says.

"Tracy, you're lying through your teeth. Please tell the story." Karyn says.

Tracy cracks a smile. Then she tells the girls the story of the day Antonio proposed to her. During the story the girls would ring in with an occasional aw at the really romantic parts. When she finished Tracy watches the girls pass around a travel pack of tissues to dry their eyes and blow their noses.

"You are so lucky to have found a guy like Antonio." Karyn says.

I know I tell myself that every day. Tracy thought.

The girls share cell phone numbers. They talk until the last class starts to file out of the room. Karyn and her friends let Tracy go in first. Tracy sits down at the table closest to the door. Tracy's new friends sit down too. They unpack their bags. They look to the front of the room and see the professor for the first time. This willful man has hooded blue eyes, straight charcoal colored hair, five o'clock shadow, is very short, a masculine build and nut-brown skin.

"Hi I'm professor Enoch Mays. Welcome to Analytic Geometry and Calculus." he says.

He passes out the syllabus and goes over it. Ten minutes later he starts his lecture on functions: a graphical perspective. He starts to writes a few functions down on the dry erase board. Then he starts to talk a mile a minute. One of the other students Yesenia Frost raises her hand.

"Yes Yesenia," Professor Mays says.

"Can you slow down please? I can't understand what you are saying sir." Yesenia says.

Professor Mays apologies and slows down. Meanwhile the pain medicine Tracy took an hour ago really kicks in and she struggles to stay awake. She sets her glasses down to wipe the sleep from her eyes. Her plan fails and she drifts to sleep a few seconds later. Tammie asks Karyn if she should try to wake Tracy up.

"I don't think she'll even wake up. It looks like that medicine the doctor gave her really knocked her out." Karyn answers.

Tammie doesn't listen to her friend and nudges Tracy's right elbow. Tracy moans quietly but doesn't wake up. Tammie tries again and gets the same result. She gives up and goes back to taking notes. Twenty minutes later Professor Mays finishes his lecture and tells the class that he'll end class early. He didn't want to overwhelm them with too much information on their first day. The class packs up their things and leaves the room. Tracy hears the sound of the other students as they walk past her. She slowly wakes up.

"Stupid pain medicine I must have slept through the whole class." Tracy mumbles to herself.

She looks to her left and sees Tammie. She hands Tracy back her notebook. Tracy thanks her as she sees that the first few pages are filled with notes from the lecture that her pain medicine caused her to sleep through. Then the girls leave the room. Professor Mays walks up to them.

"Tracy, can I talk to you in private." Professor Mays asks.

Tammie and her friends leave. Tracy starts to apologize to Professor Mays for what happened in class tonight. Professor Mays looks down at her ankle. He realizes that her dozing off in class wasn't her fault.

"How long will you be on pain medications for your ankle?" Professor Mays asks.

"The doctor said I'll need to be on them for a week or so." Tracy answers.

Professor Mays tells her that he can email her the notes until her ankle is better that way she can focus on her recovery. Tracy tells Professor Mays that she appreciates what he is doing but she doesn't want any special treatment because she is hurt. She assures him that she won't fall asleep next class. Professor Mays isn't to positive that she'll be able to do that. He decides to give her a shot. He tells her to take it easy and that he'll see her Thursday night. Then Tracy leaves the room and heads out to the parking lot to meet up with Antonio.

Tracy gets to the parking lot ten minutes later. Antonio walks up to her and he offers to carry her book bag. Tracy smiles and gives him her bag. They walk to the car. Antonio opens the door for her. Tracy puts her crutches in first. Then she gets in. After she buckles up Antonio sets he bag in her lap. Then he shuts the door. He gets in the driver's side, closes the door, buckles up, and starts the car. He backs out of the space and starts to drive home. The drive home was very quiet so Antonio decides to break the silence.

"How was class tonight my little angel fish?" Antonio asks.

Antonio didn't hear the sound of his fiancée's voice. He stops at the light at the end of the street and he looks over to his right. He sees Tracy fast asleep. He smiles and fixes her hair.

I guess I'll have to find out tomorrow morning.Antonio thought.

A few seconds later he hears the sound of a car horn. He looks back at the light and sees that it's green. He makes his left hand turn. Antonio pulls into to the driveway to the apartment thirty minutes later. He turns off the car. He gets out and walks over to Tracy's side of the car. He puts her book bag on his back. Then he picks Tracy up and carries her into the apartment bridal style. When he gets to the door Tracy starts to wake up.

"My golden knight, you could have woken me up you know." Tracy says.

"You looked so peaceful and adorable my little angel fish. I couldn't bring myself to wake you up." Antonio says.

Tracy moves to kiss him on the cheek. She moves back to her original position so he could open the door. He watches her fight to keep her eyes open. He tells her that's it ok and she could go back to sleep. Tracy's body had no argument and she drifts back to sleep a few seconds later. He opens the door and carries her to the living room. He lays her down on the couch. Then he goes back out to the car to get her crutches. He closes the car door and walks back inside. He hangs her bag on the coat rack. He puts the crutches in the master bed and head back to the living room. He picks her back up to carry her to the master bedroom. He closes the door with his foot slowly. He walks over to the bed. He lays her down on the bed, takes off her glasses, and sets them on the end table at Tracy's side of the bed. He strips down to his boxers and get in the bed himself. After he lies down he feels the bed move. He watches Tracy lay down in his chest. He smiles, kisses the top of her head, turns off the lamp, and falls to sleep a few seconds later.
