The third Friday of every month means a Rally at Bear Creek High school. And Rally's mean shorter periods and longer lunches. They also mean watching student do ridiculous things in ridiculous outfits because they want at least something interesting in between all the teachers droning on and on.

Which is what Sam is listening to right now.

He's got first Rally, which means he has to listen to Principal Naomi Waters go on and on about how theft and fighting are not tolerated in the school and about all the new changes that are going to happen between now and the next Rally.

Sam lets his head fall back and hit Gabe's chest, who sitting behind him on the bleachers in the Gym. Gabe's chin is resting on Sam's head and Sam's torso is nestled between Gabe's legs, which are resting on the bench beside Sam's hips. Sam's own legs are sprawled out to the next seat, blocking anyone from sitting below the couple.

"I swear these things get more and more boring every year." Adam comments, sitting to Sam's right.

Adam and Samandriel are sitting side by side on the same bench Gabe is sitting on. Adam is leaning back, his feet taking up the bench below him, much like Sam. Samandriel is sitting sideways, his back pressed into Adam's shoulder and his head resting against Adam's. Their arms are linked together and they keep playing with each other's hands. Sam thinks it's kind of gross, but he and Gabe do the same thing, so he can't complain.

Cas, however, is sitting alone on Sam's left, back completely straight and he appears to be listening to every word Principal Waters is saying. But Sam knows better; he's actually off in his own little world. He's more than likely thinking about Dean and other thoughts Sam isn't going to try to understand.

Below Cas and to Sam's direct left sits Anna and Charlie, who are giggling and talking in hushed whispers-like most of the other students who aren't paying attention. The two red heads are practically pressed together, and Sam wonders when Charlie is going to ask Anna out. But Sam really has no room to complain considering he and Gabe danced around each other for months.

"Anyone know where Dean is?" Sam asks again, because his brother is supposed to be here in first Rally, but he's not and he wouldn't have sat down with anyone but Cas.

"For the last time, Samsquatch, he's probably fine." Gabe teases him and kissed the top of his head.

He really kind of likes it when Gabe plays with his hair-which he convinced Sam to grow out- but he's never admitting that. Sam thinks he knows anyway, what with the way Gabe always has at least one hand in Sam's hair.

Sam sighs again and can't help but think this would go by faster with Dean here making fun of their principal. But he's not, and no matter how many funny or witty comments Gabe makes, he just isn't distracting the same way his older brother is. And finally, finally, Mrs. Waters is done and introducing another student act.

"And for this Rally only, we have a student performance by one Dean Winchester." Sam kind of jerks into awareness as Dean enters the Gym from the Cafeteria door-just like every other performer in any Rally ever-but he's carrying a guitar and a rather large bag stuffed with electric blue filler paper.

The Principal gets off the floor of the gymnasium. Dean sets the bag down and Sam can feel every pair of eyes in the Gymnasium rooted on his brother. The entire Gym is silent; no one is talking and everyone is listening. Sam can tell that even Cas is paying attention; he's sitting forward with a curious gaze on his face and his head is tilted to the side slightly.

Sam can feel Gabe's grin from where he's hiding his face in Sam's hair. Gabe brings both his hands to rest on Sam's head, laced together. Dean sits on the stool Principal Waters was just occupying and places the large bag on the ground.

Dean adjusts the microphone before placing the guitar in his lap and plucking it a few times, probably triple checking to make sure it's tuned right.

Dean doesn't give an explanation as to what he's doing; he just starts playing his guitar. The song starts off slow and Sam doesn't recognize it. Throughout the entire song, Dean has his eyes either looking at his guitar or looking at them-more specifically Cas.

At the end of the song, his brother stands up and trades the guitar in his hand for the microphone. He can feel Gabe behind him laughing silently and shaking from the effort of not making a sound in the completely hushed gym.

"This is entirely embarrassing but I could think of no other way to do this. I wanted everyone to know." Dean fiddles with the large bag-that goes up to his waist-and looks back at them.

"Mr. Novak. I would be my pleasure if you would agree to … accompany me to dinner tonight."

Sam can't help the shit eating grin that takes over his face at his brothers words. He knew he liked Cas. He can't wait to give his brother shit, but he's more anxious to give Cas a bunch of shit for being so doubtful.

Cas eventually gets up and walks down to Dean, accepting his invite to dinner. Dean gives his new boyfriend his gift, which turns out to be a giant stuffed cat with wings and Sam thinks it looks like it could be Cas. Eventually Cas comes back to his seat next to them and Dean has to go back into the cafeteria because of the 'rules' Mrs. Waters put in place for these things. Eventually the Rally ends and they try to find Dean-to no avail-before heading to class.

Sam and Cas get to their second period-biology with dull Mr. Gaines who isn't there yet but he never locks his door. Right as they're entering the door, Dean calls out for Cas, who's having trouble balancing his Cat-which is too big for his locker-and his book bag. Sam smiles and takes both items from Cas and goes inside, but leaves the door open. From his seat, Sam can see his brother if he leans forward a bit. He can see them talking for a few seconds before Dean leans forward and kisses Cas. It's cute and short; so unlike his and Gabe's first kiss. Dean runs off after one more comment-he always has to have the last word-and Cas stands there for a couple seconds before entering the class and sitting in his seat next to Sam.

The cat is on top of Cas' desk but he doesn't seem to see it-or anything really. Everyone in the class is smiling-but no one more than Cas, who looks like he could die and have no problems-and the girls are giggling in the row in front of them.

"So. Cas." Cas looks at him, his smile wide and a bit loopy.

"I'm sorry, but I have to do this." Sam plants a large hand on his friends shoulder.

"If you break my brother's heart, I'm going to hurt you. I'm serious. We have guns and we will find you." He nods at Cas a few more times before adding, "Also, safe sex is important."

Cas groans and sinks in his seat, grabbing the cat and using it as some sort of shield against the world. Sam just laughs as Cas gives him the dirtiest look possible-which looks about as intimidating as a soaking wet cat-while keeping half his face hidden in the dark material.
