Epilogue
Queen Darissa of Asgard stood with her three daughters and eldest son in the royal palace of Jotunheim as her youngest son was taking the oath of king of Jotunheim from his father. She couldn't help the tear that formed as she watched the ceremony with pride. It felt like only yesterday that she had stood before the Jotun's asking about their heir and their procreation habits. Now looking at her twenty year old son taking on the crown of the Frost Giants, she felt like she had done something right.
Her daughters, Elsa, Astrid and Lilith were watching their elder brother with smiles on their faces. They, too, were proud of their brother and knew that he would be a good king. After all, in their mind he had a good role model in their father, who had turned out to be a wise and generous king. He still played the occasional trick but not like he had when he was younger.
As she watched the ceremony she was transported back to when he was born and the reaction they had gotten from their friends and family at the twin's birth. She could still see Tony Starks face when Pepper had told him that she wanted kids and soon. She had to stop herself from giggling at the memory. The Captain had been wary of holding either of the twins and Banner flat out refused. Natasha had gotten all misty eyed and had looked at Clint with a look that spoke volumes. Odin had held them and pronounced them both fine son's that would rule their realms with honor.
It had been during their naming ceremony that Jane had gone into labor. She had given birth to a healthy baby boy that they had named Mahtan and he had indeed taken strongly after her. She, too, was here watching her nephew take his place as King of Jotunheim but also her daughter becoming queen.
Jane's daughter, Adelina, had caught the eye of her cousin and they had become very close as children. Then, as the years had gone by, her son had confided in her that he loved his cousin more than he should and had asked Thor permission to court her which had come as a surprise to Jane. Months later she and Jane had noticed a small mark below Adelina's left ear and they both knew that the two had mated. There had been nothing they could do then. Adelina was Basmus' mate and they could not separate them so now she was to become his queen. They only hoped that her Elven blood would be enough for her to birth a Jotun babe. Even if the babe was not fully Jotun it would still have the blood of a Frost Giant running through its veins and therefore it would still be dangerous for her. Therefore, Adelina had asked her, after the mating, if she was in danger of dying if she were to become with preganant with Basmus's child. After looking into the Pool, she had told her niece that she was safe, which allowed both she and Jane to breath a sigh of relief.
The ceremony ended and Loki handed his son the Casket of Winter's, the source of the Frost Giants power, with the instructions to use it to rebuild Jotunheim to its former glory and to always use it for good and never for evil. He then stepped off the dais and to his wife's side placing an arm around her and pulling her close.
"Do not worry my love they will be fine."
"I know, but it's a mother purgative to worry, my King," she pointed out which made him smile.
"I know," he whispered before kissing her softly.
"Loki, I am so glad that I remembered you all those years ago. I hate to think what my life would have been like had Jane not found that scroll and set into motion our return to Asgard."
"I am glad you remembered too, for it helped me remember my life with you and now I wouldn't change a thing. I have the woman that completes me by my side for all eternity and five beautiful children. No, my darling, I wouldn't change a thing," he said softly kissing her passionately.
